Anastasia

You appear in a forge, dark and smoky. Here a little girl wields a hammer far larger than even Syala's greathammer, bounding a massive slab of hot metal, being held above a massive flame by floating hands of semi visible force.

"Ya! Yaaa! Yaaaaaaaaa!" Each is complimented by the smack of metal, the girl wearing workman's clothes and a burnt leather smock, shaping the metal from a formless lump into the form of a shark within moments. Her hair is red and tied back tightly, her entire focus on the work in front of her.

Calley looks on, "Dolphins are better." he says.

Deftly spinning her hammer 'round in spite of its size, the child turns and says, "Uh huh," she agrees, "But sharks are better at fighting, and this golem's going to be an underwater defender for a sea elf colony. I'm going to mount magical flame generators to it along with a magical compound that keeps it burning underwater."

Coming over and eyeing it, Calley adds, "What about something inside its mouth that does the same and looks vulnerable?" he says, "Along with a magnet past that tuned so it'll get any weapons thrust in stuck inside?"

The child smiles that, "Good idea. Calley, right? I'm Elyssa."

"Seira," she introduces herself with a wave at Elyssa, before looking at the pair of children. "I'll get out of your hair, but call my name if you need anything."

And since the introductions went much smoother than Seira had expected, she sees no reason to linger and help bridge any gaps. Thus, Seira decides to join Gond and watch over them unobtrusively with him.

I'm just going to be a word away from helping in any way, and take Calley back whenever he's ready.

Gond stands nearby and yet unseen, just out of sight through divine will. He watches, arms crossed.

Doing likewise, Seira decides to see this through!

I basically want to see what happens unobtrusively. If Gond wants to bring something up, I'll respond, but otherwise I first want to see how this first meeting will go and whether there will be a second one.

It's...simple enough. They build a shark golem together, working along.

"How about eyes that slide back to launch little javelins?" Elyssa muses aloud.

"How about javelins on fire?" Calley banters back, getting a smile.

At this Gond raises his voice, "Elyssa, don't forget to include some healing capabilities."

"Sure, Daddy," Elyssa calls back brightly, "A healing orb in the center that can diffuse right through the skin."

Like this they work away, improving and adding all sorts of things to the golem to be.

"A real polymath, like Sylvie," Gond says, his voice deep and resonant right now. "Rare enough to see."

"I should've thought of this immediately, but his visit took me by surprise," Seira responds to that. "You tend to fall into the logical fallacy of having only two choices, a normal human boy's childhood or pursuing the path of a hardened adventurer. But there are plenty more out there for Calley as he is right now."

"The best you can do," Gond muses, "It concedes that his childhood is never coming back, so make a childhood instead and improve the hell out of it."

Seira nods her agreement. "Calley is the only one who can one day look back and say if he had a good childhood. So why tie ourselves in knots imagining what would've made the best one for us?"

Gond chuckles, long and low. "Mortals are so often forged by their childhood and bound to it, if they realize it or not. Make sure he says yes to that question. He'll have to come back, they work well together."

Seira gives a happy little fistpump at that.

"You know, I've been considering picking up crafting myself," she muses. "At first I thought golems, but that's not something you start right away with. Is there anything for forging public works and other large projects? I find I do my best designing for such."

Quick OOC question: Do you have ranks in any relevant skills?

Let's see. Craft/Elementals (30) +71, Craft/Metalworks (10) +51, Craft/Traps (33) +74, Knowledge/Engineering (5) +61, Profession/Researcher (33) +64. Any knowledge skill, really.

Clapping his hands together, "Of course there is. Wide scale projects are the best projects."

"Oh, really?"

I'm actually curious, since crafting feats seem to be more the sort of personal gear. But if he's just making small talk, we can move on.

Anastasia

It's small talk. Assuming this wraps, do you have anything else immediate?
