Lightning crackles amid the storm, striking fast and hard. The already wounded elemental shudders and falls to a knee - as much as it can in the air - before starting to break apart. The thing splits apart into  two smaller blizzards, one fleeing above and one below.

Is the party going to do anything to pursue them or let them go?

[Nephrite]

Let them go. If it wants to come back to die then it can.

[Anastasia]

Indeed, the blizzards flee away, leaving behind the battle.

Cresiel exhales, "Resistance stiffens. Are you well to continue, Moore?"

"Yes. There has to be a reason they're all still here, though... we haven't even made it to the darkness." He says. "I wonder if they're all here mining something that was left as a result of the battle?"

[Anastasia]

"Whatever it is, it's a dark force," Xandra speaks up, flying over as all of you cluster together, calling over the winds. "I fear this will not get nay easier, we must press on."

[Nephrite]

"Hopefully we've made the point to them that if they stop impeding us we won't go chase them." Moore says as he continues on!

[Anastasia]

You fly on. The wind stays steady but it's darker ahead, savage. As you do...

Darkness begins to lap at all of you. None of it does anything, your protections stout, but you can feel it like a thousand slimy fingers caressing your body, leaving behind a sense of wet numbness.

"This place is cursed," Jetina cries, "It tries to drink from us like a vampire."

"We will fear no darkness. We will fear no evil. We will go forward and be the light that shines bright." Cresiel intones, "If the darkness is deep, then we will be the sun that banishes the night."

[Nephrite]

"When evil battles evil, they have no regard for what they leave behind." Moore says. "We will go slowly and carefully... we will remove this foul taint."

A breath in as he flies on... a pause before he wards himself.

Casting Foresight, mainly for the danger sense but the AC helps too!

You fly onward, deeper and deeper. It's getting colder by the moment, your path leading you into what feels like Ice itself. You have to keep moving and sometime shaking yourself off, ice forming on your body and easily sliding off thanks to your magic.

Between the darkness and the foggy conditions, visibility is only 30ft ahead now and dropping. The chanting is heard again, coming from ahead with many voices, getting louder and carried ahead by the winds.

I presume I can see through the darkness via True Seeing, right?

"Know that if you impede us further, you will meet the fate of the rest of your icy brethren!" Moore shouts ahead, in the frozen Aquan. "We are not interested in your metals!"

If they've been attacked because of the mining, perhaps this will help. If they're too stubborn to listen, well......
