I see. May we visit? I have a cipher that might be using one of them, and I would appreciate the insight.

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

Thanking Kossuth, Seira gives Kascha a bright smile. "You were right, at least in the sense that Kossuth has several ways to detail locations in numbers. We're heading over to see him."

And then she transports them to the edge of Kossuth's divine realm, knocking politely.

Oraga rumbles, "Good. A fool's chase otherwise."

Amaryl hms, "Well, if one of them fits, great. If not, I would think Kossuth could discern it nonetheless."

Enter.

"Fighting some uppity efreet slavers would've been fine too," Seira reminds Oraga with a grin, heading into Kossuth's realm.

You are all immolated in flames.

Amid this infero is a great whirlwind of flames, rising high into the sky. Thousands of feet tall, and from it comes a gaze of intense, endless fire.

Speak.

<Afina> Forever.

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

We are on a treasure hunt, Seira responds, producing the scroll. I am convinced this represents ever-changing locations amidst the Elemental Planes. The code has eluded me so far, and trying to reinvent the cipher is a fool's task if you happen to recognize the one used here.

"Any aid would be helpful, sir," Amaryl adds, stepping forward and bowing.

Kascha does the the same, "It's interesting but we just don't know much about it and it's divinely made, so divinations are unlikely to help."

I do. It was made on request for a treasure vault.

Corwin

That fits with what I heard. Can you please teach me the code so that I could run it down?
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

I will not; I gave my vow that I would not spread knowledge of this system.

However, I have no love for the one who obtained that vow. I know of another who solved the mystery for the sake of solving it and has no interest in the treasures. Seek Thurmar.

Corwin

My knowledge of everything at 10 for 103 wants to know who that is.

It's obscure - ages ago a figure known as Thurmar had a place in Magma. A Magma Para-Elemental Sage you believe he called himself, a self styled great learner and wise man.

In more recent times you've heard of him every great while, the occasional figure mentioned in passing by those who sought knowledge in Magma.

Corwin

Thank you, I believe I know of him.

Anastasia

Then go and seek him.

Seira bows respectfully, and once the niceties are observed leads the way out of Kossuth's realm. Then, she plane shifts them back to Magma, musing, "Back to where we started."

She then teleports them five hundred feet away from Thurmar's place of residence, opting to approach it slowly.
