"That doesn't fit because one of them was in Rosewater," Alicia observes an immediate problem with that answer. "I think I might just put a bounty out on them. I haven't done that before but the situation is unusual enough to call for extra effort at eliminating the threat they pose."

Anastasia

"How big a bounty?" Jessica asks, "I can see to that easily enough, see to it being spread."

"Two hundred thousand a head... does that sound right to the rest of you?" Alicia asks. In absolute danger terms a Violet simulacrum might not be worth that much but based on the necessity of killing them as well as the extra measures needed to overcome whatever Malcanthet has to defend them and their annoying styx-body spell, a high premium feels necessary to ensure results.

Malcanthet's only offering half that for Marie or Antenora last she heard and so far as she knows no one's even tried. The million offered for her or Syala is more hopeful but anyone who could accomplish that deed likely isn't persuaded much by mere gold either.

Anastasia

Nods all around. "That's reasonable," Jessica says, "At our level of ability, bounties are more an invitation than an enticement."

"Enough power that those who could do it care about other things than rewards," Antenora agrees.

"Good. I'll have Hugo spread it around through our embassies as well with friendly powers, along with an outline of Violet's rare magic - the necessity of fire or dessication to confirm the kill is important," she nods. "Now Naeys, sorry for the interruption," she gets back to brass tacks. "Ask her what she knows about the elf who was used in the attack on Jessica. The Seldarine were most interested in this so it'd be nice to give them something, even if she didn't care to learn his full history."

Anastasia

So we're on the same page, refresh me on what you've gleaned about the elf so far?

He had some natural talent for riding and swordplay, and he'd been implanted with the skills of a master assassin albeit in his case it seemed to be temporary since it wore off after he was dispelled. Violet claimed ignorance but Anty said she was hiding something.

Anastasia

Thank you.

A memory. Violet sits in an opulent office, all riches and beauty. Sunlight streams in from a window as she reclines back. Before her kneels a incubus, who states, "We aren't sure of his details without scanning his mind," The creature says, "But he's suitable for what's offered. We took him from near Jal Greenhome, a floating elven community on the Prime Material of-"

"Enough," A wave of a hand, "A sword only needs to be sharp, not a bloodline." Violet says.

Alicia looks surpassingly irritated as Violet cuts off the useful exposition. Still, it may be something to take back to the Seldarine. "Very well. Ask next about the false Robeaux. She claimed complete ignorance but at least seeing his original appearance will be something to give the man."

Anastasia

A man - a hint of green to his skin as he lies nude on a slab of stone. Human on a glance, but likely some sort of fiendish blood or other unusual bloodline. Something tainted. On his chest is a tattoo of a bird in flight.

Any knowledge to recognise the particular fiendish ancestry or significance of that tattoo or pretty much anything else helpful?

It's most likely demon blood of some kind, or an off possibility of slaad blood. Something inhuman like a hezrou or vrock could cause that, most likely a hezrou.

As for the tattoo, you recall a worshiper mentioning them in prayer - a group know as the Free Fliers, a loose organization of rogues, thieves and the like who are based in the Astral Plane. Mortals doing mortal things, thought not all are nasty and evil. It's mostly an agreement to help the others if something goes wrong, something of a loose bit of insurance.

"Hmm. It's not much, but he might be connected with the Free Fliers of the astral plane. We can restore his original appearance and put out feelers with them for anyone that might have known him before, give him a chance... assuming he'll take it. Being Robeaux is literally all he knows, now," Alicia says, humming in thought.

"Does anyone have any other questions to ask?"

"I do," Marie pipes up. "Ask her who in Sylica is providing information to Malcanthet."
