"Isn't the point of a memorial that you're supposed to be able to visit it and remember?" Marie complains. "Also my perinarch spell doesn't last very long."

How far away are they from it, actually? And if this plane is so malleable is it shifting away from them?

Does the base spell provide distance to the location?

No need for knowledge on the second, you have enough hands on info to get an answer. I'll give that in the next post pending your reply to the question here.

No, the spell simply provides directions along the shortest and most direct physical route to a destination. It doesn't tell you how far ahead it is it just gives directions at each possible juncture.

You can tell, roughly speaking, it's far away and getting farther.

You can tell the plane is making more land, lengthening the distances involved.

"It's getting farther away," Marie adds. "Faster than we're moving even with Alicia compressing space herself."

"This is no good, we have to risk teleporting," Alicia says, hoping that since they're on Bytopia at least it won't be as easily messed with as her gate from Sylica earlier. "To me," she takes Marie and Latha's hands and attempts to teleport them to Memorial.

It's not hard to tell that an incredibly powerful force just interdicted you. If it's not Bytopia itself, then something dreadfully powerful awaits you.

With a cry they go flying through the air before miracles and silver fire heal them both, regrouping together. "So much for teleportation," Alicia grumbles as she mends.

"I could try something else but it would only transport me," Marie volunteers. "So you'd both have to go into Alicia's portable hole and I can carry that with me."
