Just in time. A dark blur. You roll and it's 20ft past the party. A great panther, black as the night here. It blends in nigh perfectly. The faintest, haziest images dance around it, of the panther over and over. It makes it difficult to look at, our sight going dizzy when you see it.

It's a unique predator of the deepest layer of the Beastlands. It is the Night Lord, a panther said to be more powerful than a tarrasque. It pounces hard, is extremely difficult to hit with weapons or anything aimed and shrugs off most resistible spells.

Do I know if this thing can fly?

You don't think so offhand, but you wouldn't rule it out.

"It's more powerful than a Tarrasque! I don't think it can fly, though, so let's just outpace it!"

Gonna wait for confirmation from the others before taking to the air.

"No," Bastian calls back, "We need to fight something like this anyway. No sense wasting the chance!"
