'I believe I am right on time. Moore, I am Chrona 42, a quarut who helps oversee matters of time.' The answer comes into your mind from another. 'With your permission, if I may enter Hope's Landing and present myself to you?'
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"Ah, it looks like one of them is here now." Moore says. "One moment."

'Please feel free. I don't know if you can simply get to where I am, but I'll redirect you.' Moore sends back.

Moore will do as he says!

Anastasia

A moment later the door opens.

It is an Inevitable of solid gold plating and iron beneath that greets you. It has three claws as toes, a corded body of steel and adamantine, and no facial features. Humanish and yet not, bowing to you. "Moore, I am Chrona 42."

Nephrite

"Greetings, Chroma 42." Moore says. "I'd ask if you need an explanation, but I have this strange feeling I've already given you one."

He pauses for a moment. "Or I will already? Ah, this is the peril of time, isn't it?"

Anastasia

"Time is complicated," Chrona 42 agrees, "Mister Synic, please accept this gift of insight, temporally compressed. Please play attention, Moore and Jetina. This is your first lesson."

Nephrite

"Very well." Moore says with a nod. "Please proceed."

Anastasia

Synic starts to speak - but magic comes. It's like knowledge compressed down into a single second, a thousand words rendered into one bare murmur. It's like the time around it was compressed down.

"...I've missed things," Synic says at last, "Temporal magic got that far out of control."

"It did," Chrona 42 says, "So do not seek what you have lost, that is normal and we assured that you would not unknowingly cause trouble."

"I can't imagine it's every day that you all have people who predate the Compact show back up." Moore says. "Well... I suppose you all don't measure things in days."

A turn to Synic. "See, I had a feeling they could explain it a bit better than I could."

Anastasia

Synic's expression twists into one of anger, "Then why didn't one of you get me out of there, if you changed my magic?" His voice is openly angry, sharp.

Chrona 42 clears his throat, "That would not be within our duties. Our duties are the Temporal Compact, not an individual soul's fate."

"I can't blame you for being upset." Moore says. "But if they went and did something like that, then there's probably a lot of harm to Creation that'd be done too, and then we'd end up back in the same place everything was prior to the Compact. There are probably of evil chronomany users out there that would have loved to save their friends from death or worse."

A peaceful smile comes after. "Still, you're safe and rescued now. You know being angry at him won't get you anywhere, and I imagine trying to take a punch to him won't do you much good either. I'm not saying don't be angry, but directing your anger at this one won't avail you any peace." He says.

Anastasia

This calls for pixie terror, aka diplomacy. -30 circumstance penalty, you're in the range of making a hard one theoretically possible.

Nephrite

Take 10 for 107 in that case.

Anastasia

Synic's glare is that of death, one that promises it with abandon. Yet he doesn't move and lies back instead.

"Thank you for your understanding," Chrona 42 says, as a moment later Synic lunges. He moves in perfect timing, as if he knew was coming. Even as Synic tries to rip his face off, "I assure you that some anger is normal, but excessive anger does you no good. I merely fulfilled my requirements."

"That's enough!" Jetina steps in and pulls Synic away, struggling to keep him back. His eyes are furious and wild, gaze on the Inevitable even now.

Moore turns his attention fully onto Synic.

Peace.

It isn't a request - Moore brokers no argument on this subject.

[15:36] <Nephrite> roll 1d20+18+16
[15:36] <Kobot> Nephrite rolled 1d20+18+16 --> [ 1d20=6 ]{40}

That should be 58 total as a charisma roll if that is needed.

Anastasia

Are you using any particular power or just trying to cow him or what?
