Yes I would really like to know that spell for safety's sake.

For now we'll warn Latha/Jessica/Anty first, then Alicia will contact Zaphkiel about passing on the details to be disseminated through Celestia while her avatar visits Bytopia to tell Seira (or more likely Elle or Kascha).

There's a big list of others to warn but they get first dibs.

Anastasia

I'll write the spell up this weekend, I owe Moore one as well.

It's not hard to warn your closest friends. "This is troubling," Latha says as she experiments with understatements. "If not catastrophic. She has Mystra's blood?"

Jessica is silent, gaze on you.

Antenora exhales softly, "If she manages to harm or slay Mystra, what will happen if the Weave falls?"

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

"Nothing good," she tells Antenora. "There's little point in speculating, for now if you're ever spending more than a few minutes in a location make sure it's dimensionally locked for at least thirty feet around you. That'll keep Shar from being able to attack you in the same way. And if you can manage Mystra's counterspell," probably more do-able for Latha than anyone else right now, "Make sure to have it ready at all times. Shar did this once. She can do it again. Whenever she wants. No one is safe."

Anastasia

"Mercy..." Antenora breathes out, "Are you certain she can do it again?"

"As far as we know it cost her a little bit of her divine essence - about the same as making a proxy," Alicia answers. "It's an ugly business but we all know you can farm those back from the huge number of weak demon lords no one cares about outside of their particular layer of the Abyss. Shar wouldn't have any trouble on that score. So unless there's some other limited resource she's expending and can't replace? Yes she can do it again. And she will do it again, and that's why I need to go warn others quickly."

Anastasia

Antenora's color drains as she shakes her head, "This is a disaster."

"Go, sister," Jessica urges, "We'll take precautions here."

"Stay safe," Alicia says as she contacts Zaphkiel while her avatar plane shifts straight to Bytopia to visit the Cauldron.

Zaphkiel, I have news of Shar's ability to strike at anyone in Creation with impunity and details of how to counter it from Mystra. Who can I bring it to to have it disseminated across Celestia's influence?

Anastasia

I shall suffice and see that the House of the Triad and Hebdomad are informed.

Can I datablast it at Zaphkiel through divine speech? Presumably it's pretty complex stuff at least in terms of the spell Mystra made.

Anastasia

Zaphkiel can bridge that at worst, so sure.

<sharsnip.myst>

Alicia sends over the details of the counter spell first to Zaphkiel before her commentary.

Shar can sacrifice a tiny bit of divine essence - similar to a proxy spark and I suspect as easily replaceable, to target anyone in Creation for harm in this manner. Normal dimensional interference should block it, but using Mystra's counterspell should allow one to not only prevent it but also to steal what Shar expends in the casting. Making it risky in this manner is likely our best means of dissuading her from employing it too frequently, but it's still going to become an ongoing threat.

Anastasia

Possible.

You did well to prevent disaster. I could improve the spell further, but that would tell Mystra much, perhaps too much, if you can improve her own spellwork.

Ebiris

You could always approach her directly with your own suggestions. This was an ordeal for her and I don't think her pride would outweigh her relief at having a stronger countermeasure against repeat occurrences.

Anastasia

Such a move is not without some risk, and I will discuss it with my counterpart. Our work continues apace and we must weigh all the options and possible ramifications.

I can't force you to do anything, but we mustn't underestimate the danger being posed here. It affords Shar a way to slay a deity in their divine realm with no risk to herself. What wounded Mystra could end Moore or Alyssa.
