It's hard to hit Shar. A blur that moves, a wound that bloodies her turned into more of a deep scratch. The shadows writhe and coil as you strike, suffusing her with energy. Blow after blow is blocked before one gets through, a duel of sacrifices. Yet you do blood her, and each time your body darkens. As if your own shadow seeps into your blood and marrow to feast.

Your endurance is superior to that and you stand intact, the two of you face to face as blades clad against yours. Shar's eyes are black, empty, as if yawning portals to nothing. Her breath is ice cold this close, numbing your face. You feel it down to your soul, which loosens.
