"Well! Thank you. What do you mean to do here, in our realm?"

He hefts is pan as if that says it all, and then goes back to panning for gold.

After a few moments, "I haven't seen this valley before, but there's always new paths to be found. Shaundakul's always made sure there's more."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods, "Any interest in making a permanent home here, or just another stop on the path?"

[Anastasia]

"The roads are my home," He answers, "Maybe one day I'll rest, but that day isn't today."

Alyssa nods, "Well, in that case, wait here for a moment."

Alyssa turns and takes a step, teleporting to her father.

"Papa, are you busy right now?"

Father just happens to be eating lunch, sitting down at a table with other smiths. Naturally the conversation comes to an immediate halt when you step in, all eyes on you.

"Nothing that can't wait," he says, getting up and leaving his barely touched meal aside.

Alyssa smiles, "Grab your tools. There's someone we need to make something for."

[Anastasia]

Walt does just that and follows, "What do you have in mind, Alyssa?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"He's a miner. Let's make him some tools for him. He's gifted me with something magnificent."

Alyssa takes out the gem and shows it to him, teleporting them to her study to gather her anvil and tools.

[Anastasia]

The gemstone twinkles in the light. Father stops and watches it for several moments before, "I know what to do," he says slowly, "Give it to me, Alyssa."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa raises an eyebrow but hands it over, 'Odd... papa's never been inclined with unusual objects or gems...'

[Anastasia]

Father takes it, and then takes a little knife from his belt. He raises it to his palm and slashes, and holds the dripping wound over the gemstone. "Blood of family, blood of world," he says as the droplets fall, in a voice that isn't quite his own.
