"Hmm... My best guess is a small morphic demi-plane. In any case, the road is the way."

Alyssa walks it with Bastian.

You walk a few minutes. "Demiplanes are limited, so there has to be a point to this,"B astian agrees. "Keep your eyes open and be ready. It looks clear, but ambushes can always surprise you."

Alyssa nods and sends her Prying Eyes out to scout around them.

You send them out. They only see grasslands except ahead. Ahead, hidden by a dip in the path, is a stairway further down, plunging into the earth.

"There's another stairway ahead. Hidden a bit."

Alyssa leads them to it!

You approach - and react in time to avoid ambush. They rise. Two large tortoises of grass, woven together as they rise, one on either side. Their shells gleam like metal in spite of being nothing more than woven grass. Ahead from the dirt rises a stone warrior with two blades in hand, sharp and gleaming metal.

"Hello! I'd prefer to avoid a fight, but if you don't want to talk, I can set you on fire or disintegrate you!"

Alyssa smiles warmly at them.
