Nephrite

"So, how do you want to approach this?" Moore asks as he flies towards the entrance. "We can go floor-by-floor and see if there's any correlation to the length of time versus how deep in the Prison they are." He says. "When we were here last, there were those who knew me, so they must've been recently brought here. I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to it... we should also be careful since there could be... an infinite amount of prisoners here."

He shakes his head. "Be aware that once we enter we can't communicate outside of here, so we're on our own for a while unless something else has changed about this place." He reminds them.

Anastasia

"I suggest magic to read minds first," Sylvie says, "Once we get a good idea of any overlying trends we can plan better."

"If there's none?" Xandra asks back.

"Then we make it up as we go along, best we can," Sylvie responds, "Not much other choice."

<Afina> Forever.

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Moore nods and will proceed in and follow to the first prisoners they find!

We can divine will up some detect thoughts amped a bit type of magic I'd imagine for the purposes of this. Since everything should be asleep there shouldn't be any resistance.

Anastasia

That works. What exactly are you going to try to get out of them?

Nephrite

Let's go like this:

-Do they remember their names?
-How long have they been here?
-What crimes did you commit?

-if the answer to any of those is 'I don't know' we'll magic up Divination to answer who they are and how long they've been here. We'll see if there's any sort of correlation with this floor's prisoners.

During this I'll be taking 10 for 123 on any Knowledge checks that are needed to identify them.

Anastasia

A dwarf, a tiefling and then a goblin. None know their names or anything else - blank, empty. Divinations provide the information of the first two, but not the third. Each has been here millions of years.

Nephrite

"Millions of years." Moore says. "What even is the purpose of this place? It isn't rehabilitation, its just endless punishment." He says. "Let's go down a floor and see if it's any different here."

Assuming we don't run into anything in our way, we'll proceed on and down a level and see if the results are any different.

Actually, side question, have we seen any of those chain-type guardians around at all or is it just devoid of everything but prisoners?

Anastasia

It's devoid.

Same thing on the next floor, too.

Nephrite

Any significant differences in the years on the second floor?

We'll proceed onward regardless.

Spooky!

Anastasia

Same thing on the second floor - no changes to casual testing. After a few you all get together, "Clearly this has gone on a long time," Xandra declares, "Who can understand the mind of such strange beings?"

"I imagine the Guardian was sent here to learn about punishment." Moore says. "I wonder if this places' name is actually true - I wonder if it was the very first prison in Creation. Let's keep going until we find something different. Regardless, we will be taking all of them back eventually."

Anastasia

Above - from the floors above, a sound carrying unnaturally far. A thump. A metal shod foot hitting the ground. Footsteps?

"It's-" Kaja stops, swords drawn, "Something's moving back above us."

"There was one missing." Moore says. "That one in the metal armor. We should investigate just to be safe." He says.

Back they go!
