19:24 <Ko> OOC: Just ot refresh since it's a new session, aims of researching?
19:24 <Skaya> OOC: We're looking for legendary or notable mages, to find suitable gear for Sanda. Specifically, we're after sets of equipment like Devar's.
19:31 <Ko> A few hours of research go on, until you find something good. It's stories said to be from the far west, past the Aldoren Sea. A Wizard King of Steel is said ot have united a dozen kingdoms into an empire that stretched far and wide. It is said his blade, circlet, armor and shield all have potent powers, particularly for mages who blend steel into their arts.  The sword is notable for being
19:31 <Ko> called the Vampiric Steel, and can steel spell energy from others to replenish the wielder's own spells.
19:34 <Skaya> "Strange how things can go," Skaya voices, mulling over the information. "Seems like this Wizard King is probably a better match for Anne than you, Sanda. Unless you're interested in training with a shield? Which you could, I suppose. It'll surely take time to find everything."
19:37 <Ko> "You can't be that picky with legendary equipment," Sanda admits, sitting back. She sighs very softly, "If yo uwant the honest truth, the only reason I haven't tried more weapons than my staff is because while a shield makes sense, Anne already uses them. It makes sense to let her dominate that, so I can use my quarterstaff or other two hander weapons."
19:38 <Skaya> "But Sanda, there is a very obvious problem. Do you want to hear it?"
19:44 <Ko> "Go on," Sanda agrees, waving a hand.
19:45 — Skaya taps Sanda's nose. "You're very, very easy to hit. Incredibly so. And Shield is a great spell but if you can use it swiftly on demand, it's only good when you're the one ambushing someone. So while you've trained admirably, even growing stronger than me, going into melee is still a bad idea because of that. Once you've fixed that issue, you can fulfil your wish of being a muscle wizard!"
19:47 <Ko> Sanda crosses her arms, looking entirely put out. "I am not that easy to strike." she complains, "Statistically speaking, I bet I'm a hard target to hit. On a scale of one to ten, I don't think many enemies are hitting me."
19:50 <Skaya> "Let's use statistics, shall we? If we're talking about facing off against enemies that hit a prepared Devar once in twenty strikes, they'll likely hit me five in twenty. But with you, it'd be closer to fifteen times out of twenty. That's the real reason I'm always scared when you get into melee."
19:50 <Ko> "Fifteen? That can't be right." Sanda sniffs, "I'm not that fragile. Where did you even get that idea?"
19:51 <Skaya> "Statistics! I watch you a lot!"
19:54 <Ko> Sanda's look is far from impressed, "Then you clearly have to be wrong." she counters. "Besides, if all of that armor and shield would help, why are you complaining about it?"
19:56 <Skaya> "Well, it'd be inconvenient for you, right? Since half of your spells may misfire once you get it, unless you undergo specialized training. But maybe it'll be fine? And you can always use the utility spells out of combat and focus on the battle magic while wearing armor. What do you think?"
19:58 <Ko> "I already have some of that training figured out," Sanda counters, "I intend to keep going with it, too."
19:59 <Skaya> "Then we're golden! And actually, maybe we can enchant the shield to fly so you could keep using the staff!"

20:05 <Ko> "Still, that means going west," Sanda mentions, "Which means it's a longer term goal."
20:07 <Skaya> "Maybe if we get lucky, the plane shift item will be accurate. Then we could teleport over!"
20:12 <Ko> "We could," Sanda smiles now, resting back, "I've heard the east is known for plains. Entire vast countries of nothing but plains. Trees almost as rare as gold. Flat lands so far you can see the horizon almost forever."
20:12 <Ko> *West
20:14 <Skaya> "It's pretty nice how even a Prime can be full of wonder if you keep traveling!" Skaya says cheerfully. "Alright, let's keep the western option in mind for now. Do you want to look for any alternatives, just in case?"
20:18 <Ko> "Why not, while we're here," Sanda says, "We're not in any hurry today."
20:21 <Skaya> "Alright! Let's look for something specific for boosting strength or using physical power in tandem with magic!"
20:28 <Ko> OOC: Same check again, -2 penalty this time.
20:28 <Skaya> roll 1d20+17-2
20:28 <Kobot> Skaya rolled 1d20+17-2 --> [ 1d20=19 ]{34}
20:29 <Skaya> OOC: Presumably -2 instead of +5
20:29 <Ko> roll 1d20+14 Sanda she might 20
20:29 <Kobot> Ko rolled 1d20+14 Sanda she might 20 --> [ 1d20=11 ]{25}
20:38 <Ko> No luck, nothing that fine tuned. There's various bits about strength increasing items though, plenty of giant's belts and ogre's gauntlets. Nothing perfectly on point, however. Still, there is one thing of note. You find a book that claims there is an invisible palace in the sky, above Dareslan, and infested with the undead and treasure in equal measure.
20:39 <Skaya> "In the sky? That poor, poor town."
20:45 <Ko> "What is with Dareslan?" At this point Sanda tilts her head to the side, "Did someone curse it?"
20:46 <Skaya> "You know, that's actually very likely? We should definitely stop by at some point and look for any weird undead floating palaces out of phase with reality above it."
20:50 <Ko> "We really should. I imagine Anne'll leap over that," Sanda reflects, "As long as it's not like last time."
20:51 <Skaya> "I wonder if the undead will also grow stronger if we take our time. Just imagine! We'll lose track of time, stop by a decade from now, and the lowest soldier is a mighty lich!"
20:55 <Ko> Sanda considers that, thoughtful, before, "So what you're saying is we should go in the next few days."
20:57 <Skaya> "I suppose we could, in fact, go in the next day assuming Anne has the spells to nurse me back to health. This teleport item is actually pretty scary with its side effects."
21:02 <Ko> "And why not? At worst, we can spend a few days there and fly around. Hardly the worst use of time." Sanda snifs.
21:04 <Skaya> "Sounds good! Want to go find Anne and bug her about it? Though I hope she doesn't think it's self harm or something. She can get annoying when we get injured as it is."
21:05 Ko → •Kotono (+q, opped)
21:07 <•Kotono> "She's with Devar right now, but once she's done," Sanda agrees pleasantly enough. OOC: More, just let me wrap up Devar's end of it.
21:08 <Skaya> Giving her a suggestive look, Skaya teases Sanda, saying, "I like how you always know where she is."
21:09 <•Kotono> With a groan, "Must you," Sanda complains, "Why don't you ask her out if you like talking about her so much?"
21:12 <Skaya> "I sometimes must," Skaya solemnly responds. "But I do it a lot less since it does bug you two. And actually, I'm not really drawn to Anne? We're just normal friends."
21:19 <•Kotono> "I thought you really liked her at first," Sanda mentions, "At least at first, anyway."
21:22 <Skaya> "As a friend," Skaya insists. "Or are you talking about the time she asked me out but it was just a trick? I don't actually mind being asked out by my friends."
21:29 <•Kotono> Sanda lets it go at that, as...OOC: More. #dunes.

19:22 <Ko> "Bland and inoffensive," The storm rumbles. "A helpful spirit."
19:22 <Ko> "More than I already am?
19:23 <Ko> "More than I already am?" Storm's Eye scoffs, "Look at it? There's Anne the motherly but stern type. Then you have Sanda, the snooty intellectual who has book smarts but low life smarts. If that's not your style, you have the fiery and sporty Rina, and don't even let me get started about Skaya's entire routine."
19:24 <Devar> "Have you had any amount of success courting anyone with your current way of doing things?" Devar asks. "So far, they all seem to try and avoid you, at least from my perspective."
19:28 <Ko> That gets a grump, a loud grumble before, "You need to control your women better, that's why."
19:30 <Devar> "I definitely don't need to do that, I think you need to recognize that the way you are now isn't going to get you what you want." Devar says. "I'm not suggesting I just reset you to a blank slate, but isn't the opportunity to become more than you are now one you should pursue? I'll be with you the whole way, I promise."
19:33 <Ko> "This would be way better if Anne were here. Especially if she took off that armor of hers, and maybe even everything to carry me into this storm," Storm's Eye complains, voice becoming energetic by the end. "What weapon doesn't dream of being borne by a nude maiden in flight?"
19:33 <Ko> "In our experience with creatures of flesh and weapons alike, you're the only one who wants that," One of the storm creatures rumbles.
19:34 <Devar> "Plenty of them." Devar says. "But you're stuck with me. I brought you here to help you, remember? So let's go all the way and get you through this."
19:43 <Ko> You get the feeling you're getting glared or pouted at somehow. "It sounds so boring," Storm's Eye complains nonetheless.
19:46 <Devar> "I'm not saying we just erase your personality." Devar says. "I don't even think that's possible." He actually doesn't know, but he really doesn't want to go that route if they can help it. He turns to address the elementals, "Do you think it'd be possible to restore all his memories? Or, if not that, what can we do about the piece of lust lingering in him?"
19:50 <Ko> "We're the storm. Our approach is to use lightning on him until the problem is fixed, but it requires him not to fight it," The storm answers back.
19:51 <Devar> "You can be brave for the ladies back home, right?" Devar asks. "I'll be right here with you the whole time."
19:58 <Ko> OOC: Diplo check, -3 penalty, but you at least get one here.
20:00 <Devar> OOC: May as well summon the bot and see how much she hates me'

20:04 <Ko> OOC: Good luck with Kobot.
20:05 <Devar> roll 1d20+17 I think taking 10 would fail anyway so chancing the 50%
20:05 <Kobot> Devar rolled 1d20+17 I think taking 10 would fail anyway so chancing the 50% --> [ 1d20=15 ]{32}
20:13 <Ko> After a long pause, "...you sure you won't talk Anne into it?" Storm's Eye seems grouchy about it, but less resistant.
20:14 <Devar> "She'd definitely disown both of us if I asked her." Devar says. "But think of how proud she'll be of what you accomplished here? She might even hug you."
20:17 <Ko> "...Are you really sure?" Storm's Eye sighs deeply. "Like you'll survive a few mace hits."
20:18 <Devar> "You won't know until you try." He says. "So, you ready?" He asks. "I'll be right here, and I'm sure Lady Eldath will help too."
20:19 <Ko> You don't get a no, at least. You get a sour silence, but certainly no disagreement.
20:20 <Devar> Devar holds him up (with both hands) towards the storm clouds. "I'm pretty sure no lightning can harm me, but I guess we're about to find out if there's a limitation to that or not."
20:29 <Ko> WHAM! WHAM! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM! Dozens of bolts slam in all at once, the opportunity more than taken. Storm's Eye lets out an alarmed cry as you're blinded by lightning. So much light, so many flashes. Bolt after bolt hits repeatedly, a barrage with no sign of ending.
20:30 <Devar> "Hold on, buddy!" Devar calls out. "I've got you!" He does idly wonder how much harm these bolts would be doing if he wasn't immune to them... better to not think about that right now. Instead, he does his best to focus inwardly and pray to Eldath to see his partner through this.
20:36 <Ko> "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHH!" Storm's Eye screams in response, the barrage seeming to go on forever. Eventually there's a loud crack and snap, though you can't see what's happening. Afterwards, finally? The storm abates.
20:36 <Devar> Devar blinks a few times from the brightness, readjusting his vision to see what happened!
20:44 <Ko> Storm's Eye is there. Shiny and bright, as if polished by the endless barrage of attacks.
20:45 <Devar> "You okay in there?" Devar asks.
20:50 <Ko> "Yes." A simple answer, "Thank you, Devar. I feel far better."
20:52 <Devar> "I'm glad to hear that. The others will be happy you're okay." He says. "So, hey, I've been wondering - do you all know how he got where he was?" Devar asks. "And how long had he been gone?"
20:54 <Ko> "For some time. He disappeared into a portal," Is the answer, "We did not look that hard to find him."
20:54 <Ko> Chortling, "Still, I am incomplete and need more lightning. Devar, do you believe I should focus on offense or utility? Defense is an option as well, but unneeded."
20:56 <Devar> "I... can't really blame you all for that." Devar says with a sigh. "I wonder how they're doing, I should go check." He looks over at Storm's Eye. "Um... hmm, that's a great question. I can probably handle a lot of the utility with magic, and my weakness I'd say is offense, so if you feel like you can focus on that, that's probably the best thing, but we can always re-evaluate it as our adventures
20:56 <Devar> continue."
21:00 <Ko> "Then leave me here a time," Storm's Eye asks, "The lightning here shall serve faster and better than any other."
21:02 <Devar> "Sure, I can do that. Can you all get him back to me when he's ready to go, if that isn't too much trouble?" Devar asks.
21:02 <Ko> "Gladly," Is the answer, "That is no problem at all."
21:03 <Devar> Devar will hold Storm's Eye on the palms of his hands and raise his arms up to let him... fly? Float?
21:04 <Ko> "Until then, Devar. Give me fond regards to Anne," Then after a beat, "And do tell her that I wouldn't mind a much skimpier or non-existant wardrobe choice when she and her return." There's a chuckle after, just long enough to let those words sink in. "I do seem have retained some appreciation for the female form, at least. Curious none for the male form, if it was a spirit of lust. I suppose
21:04 <Ko> it may have been a male spirit."
21:04 <Ko> *curiously,
21:05 Ko → •Kotono (+q, opped)
21:05 <Devar> "We all have things we're into." Devar says. "Try to behave yourself while I'm gone." He says as he flies back down to reunite with Anne!
21:07 <•Kotono> Anne awaits you with patience. "Well?" she asks, "Where is he?"
21:08 <Devar> "It's a bit of a story." He says, starting to head back down. "It's a good thing you didn't go any further, I don't think that spell would've helped. He's, uh, recharging, for lack of a better way of putting it. He apparently was wielded against a spirit of lust some time ago, which is what resulted in his... personality. He basically got his old memories back, but he's probably still going to
21:08 <Devar> be at least a little mouthy, as a warning. Just not -as- bad."
21:10 <•Kotono> A little noise, not even a word. Once you're done, "That explains it. It makes it more forgivable, if its alterations were not of its own will."
21:12 <Devar> "I'm glad I was able to convince him to get himself help. That one's an interesting quandry for me..." He muses, still flying down. "Someone who's personality is changed via magic or something who doesn't want help, you're still obligated to help them, aren't you? Even if you're more or less forcing it on them?"
21:19 <•Kotono> "I don't think there's a good answer," Anne says, "It depends too much and why. Otherwise, why not change anyone who has changed for any reason?"
21:19 <Devar> "It probably does come down the circumstances." Devar agrees.
21:19 <•Kotono> With that and a nod...OOC: Going to head back when able, basically?
21:19 <•Kotono> OOC: Sec.
21:19 <Devar> OOC: Yep
