So, Random OOC area for those of us not sitting on irc all day long.

*shakes fist*

Kelly is mainly going to be keeping his head down for now.  He doesn't do well in crowds like this.

If I get punted from the mission, it's all going to be because of politics and the 'old boys network'!

Then again, sticking me in suspended animation for 40 years might be seen as punishment enough...

Well, Goodbye.

Brian's likely not going to post much today, being sick.  Sorry though for the delay, my fault really *is a questioning bastard with the rod logic*

Well, Goodbye.

Brian

Addendum: Depending on how severely I am sick, I MAY vanish for a few days without any more warning than this post.

Sorry about that.

Okay, want to make sure I don't give the wrong signal.  Since it's taking 12 hours, I'm assuming I am paused (working on the rod logic) until another post is flung at me or I'm told differently to let the other's keep up timewise.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

Sorry about that, Drac.  A collusion of events has occured.

It seems to me that I'm bungling this game a bit, probably by seeming like I don't really care about it.

I assure you that this is not the case, and to prove the point, I'll explain the situation more clearly using the voice and character of Hale:

It is assumed that the weak flesh-thing designated 'Brian' feels some sort of sorrow for his purely biological failings to the other weak flesh-things, in their quaint 'simulation'--

Thank you, Hale, that's enough--

This is assumed to be untrue, because it is a judgement based on the chaoitic and non-logical values of 'emotion'.  I assure you that these 'feelings' are an illusion.  Embrace logic, and you will see that this is the best way.

Now, puny flesh-beings--

That's QUITE enough, Hale.

Understood, oversensitive meatsack.

....

Ahem.  Anyway, lately things have been a bit chaotic because I have been looking for a new place.  I now have FOUND the new place (Hooray!), and will be moving in next week.  This will be preceeded and trailed by downtime outside of work of an unknown duration.  I expect to be vanished from teh home intarweb for two weeks at most, though, so let's not worry TOO much.

This is just to let everyone know, and to apologize.  Once I get these things straightened out, I should be back, and willing to try and bring this game up to tDaT-relative speeds.

On a somewhat (but not entirely un-)related note, I'd also like to poll for feedback.  I feel that this game is kind of stumbling, but there's still interest in it.  In which areas do you (the gamers) feel I'm coming short?  And please, be honest -- I want to become a better GM, and you should all want to enjoy yourselves.

We've discussed this already, but to make it public, I guess:

My big problem is that Finn has no IC reason to care about the mystery of what happened.  From her practical-minded perspective, the First Crew is dead, and what really matters is getting the ship back into full operational state.  Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of interest in RPing repairing airlocks, or any of the other myriad tasks that have to be done that Finn presumably knows but I certainly don't.

This is mostly my own fault, given how I created Finn.  I know that things will pick up; there are plot hooks that I know I should pursue, but haven't found an IC chance to do so yet.

Ebiris

I probably should have discussed this already, but I've pretty much just been waiting for things to pick up.

Firstly, I'm not too thrilled at being made captain. Considering the rest of the crew currently consists of one confident and capable NPC, and the remaining PCs, all of whom seem to have a good handle on what they should be doing, I'm basically stuck at a loose end.

Now, I'm not expecting to get thrown into the thick of action - I did pick communications guy, and I realise there's not much call for that, right now.  I just wanted the point to be raised. By nature I'm a re-active rather than pro-active player, and the current setup isn't lending me much.

My last IC post which mentioned 'puttering around the bridge in an effort to look busy' pretty accurately describes my participation ever since the ship departed.

I do expect things to pick up once the rest of the crew is thawed and we get the ship back up to standard, but until then, I feel rather disempowered, despite Albert's sudden promotion.
