Bah.  Had some issues with my ipad.

Went to grouse about it.

Got %$#@ loads of unwelcome political BS and, "That's why I use *nix."  I was looking for help with a problem, guys, not to hear how much you hated Apple and were otherwise competing to be specifically unhelpful.

The trip hasn't been able to take my mind off someone I haven't heard from in a long while, but was still fun.

Until I got sick.

That's the thing about traveling, the damn germs.

Today I got confirmation that I was responsible for driving someone from the boards and them no longer writing fanfiction.  I'd suspected it for quite some time already.

I ... won't be participating in the C&C subforum anymore.

Over a week with no abatement.  I think I may have progressed into pneumonia.

Work sucks, client is abusive, client doesn't want to pay bills, everyone's unhappy, happy holidays luncheon today, yay free food will cheer people up, oh look, they laid off three of my friends after lunch. Merry christmas. =(

I always hate when companies lay off people around the holidays. It's not cool, no matter how much sense it makes.

Waking up in the middle of the night to be sick sucks. Lots.

I've been doing it for nearly two weeks solid.

At times I contemplated suicide as a less painful option.

If you have insurance, and maybe even if you don't, consider seeing a doctor.  In my case it had progressed to bronchitis (cheapter to treat than pneumonia), and I have this really fun cough syrup with codine in it.

I'd offer you some, but my arm doesn't stretch from west to east coast.

Thanks, but it's not that kind of sick. It's the kind of sick you get after welcome back party. Y'know, when someone added way too much pepper to the dishes and your stomach burns like an inferno sick.

Oh.  Yeah, I don't ... get that.

My body produces way too much bile, remember?  So that stuff just gets broken down without a blink by my system.


In your case, I think eat some white bread and take antacids.  Much easier to deal with than two weeks of the Death Flu.

Slightly less delirious, more physically pained.  I think I'm recovering, but my throat has been transformed into an organ that exists only to activate pain receptors.

Every so often, a hit off the asthma bong helps a bit.  The one interesting thing is that usually cold air is worse on a sore throat -- like jagged shards of ice tearing up your throat.  Since I've been to Alaska, the outdoor air has no effect on me.

Kind of novel, actually.


It's probably for the best; I can end up getting super emotional when delirious.  More to the point, do you have antacids on hand?  If not, knowing your stomach issues ... why not?  And also give me a shipping address so I can send you some for christmas.

I usually feel soothed by cold with a sore throat, even cold winter air. Go figure that one. Anyway, took a shot of Pepto and that helped on the road to recovery.

Anyway, I had the real flu a several Christmases ago. It was nearly a month before I felt close to normal and another month to really rebuild my inner stamina. Hopefully you'll beat my time.
