Today's searing hot needled to the stomach? My Dad's foot is taking longer to heal than anticipated, he won't be able to drive for at least another month. Not only is this an obvious transportation issue all around, but Dad's also going stir crazy as hell.

Hey, you've got a job... I'm still unemployed after 2 months and potential employers that refuse to even call me to tell me AFTER interviews that I wasn't the right person... or even to tell me that after I bug them.

You need better employers to bother with.  That said, that kind of shit is endemic, even of good ones.  Got to be more aggressive.  That and its good modus operandi to talk to them right after the interview (Thanks for your time, bullshit) anyhow.

Ryder. When I was trying to get a job with Fluor, it basically took two months for me to get told "Okay, we can hire you. When can you start?"

After contacting someone in Fluor (it's -very- helpful to have a contact of some sort at the company you're applying to. When you can't bug HR, they can do it for you) who used to go to my university and giving them my resume to give to HR, I had to make four calls to ask if they had any openings. First time I left a message with HR, second time I actually talked to them (they told me they still hadn't had a chance to look over the resume, two weeks after having it handed to them), third time I called again and left a message again, fourth time I just told my contact to talk to the HR person.

Got a call for an interview appointment some time later. Go through interview, get told to wait two weeks for a reply. Two weeks come by, and I call, leave a message. Call again the next day, still the HR person does not answer my calls. Call a few more times over the course of the week, before again, I end up using the contact to prod the person. He calls me and says they're still considering all applicants. Wait a week, try again, this time just going through the contact. Says the HR person is on a two week vacation. Okay, call again after the two weeks are over. Contact says he'll talk to the HR person and remind them about me. Few days later, I get offered a job.

So yeah. Takes effort. >_>;

I am possessed of (by?) an all-consuming hatred.  It interferes with my ability to write.  I can't sleep.  I can't focus.  I've been spacing out and making stupid mistakes at work lately.

Why do I care so much about something so terrible?  Why do I keep trying to get through to someone who just can't get it?  Why can't I give up and get on with my life?

The past few days have just been as boring as hell.

Most of my friends don't come online much anymore, and when they do they're super-quiet on AIM/IRC, I haven't been able to concentrate on any game for more than a few minutes at a time....ugh.

I've spent most of my free time the past few days just refreshing the same few forums constantly, waiting for people to post. -_-
