I seriously would like to toss them out the window.  They are right there.  And a window is not far away from them.

so, Rocktrack fell because someone put 823 in a weeks field, causing it to perpetually request 16 years of data whenever that person clicked anywhere.  Fucking crapware.


Also, the above, sucky indeed.  Seriously, what the hell does it hurt them to leave up or archive history?

It's not all down yet.  Quite a bit is still up, but slowly it's being deleted.

I haven't seen any links to an official post, but someone has noticed that it's might not be 3rd ed that's being deleted.

It looks like WotC isn't deleting their 3.5 archives, but rather their 4E archives. So far, all of the pages I've checked that were stored via the old-style (3.5 era) web url (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fc/20060728a format) are still there, but everything after the switch to the new style of web address (http://www.wizards.com/DnD/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4pr/20071004a format) is gone.

It's probably cleanup and reorganization then, or more of a shift to Insider. I doubt they'll take down previous editions material. They have errata to second edition stuff on there, soooo.
