I have to replace all of my sewer, which will run into the multiple thousands of dollars.

Right now, it's bubbling up in my shower. Not cool.

Of course, we have some money for a emergency fund, but not enough to cover full replacement. Damnit.

Unrelated to the sewer. So I need to replace the sewer, the sump pump, the new carpet which we just put down 2 weeks ago, AND I lost all my old NES and SNES and N64 systems and games. Damnit!

That's awful!  I know we can find the carts and emulators, but damnit....  That sucks, 007.5.  I'm sorry to hear that.  Especially the work on the carpeting....  >_<

Actually, having a few minutes to think about this, I've realized that more likely than not, given time to dry out, your game carts should actually be fine.  I remember many success stories involving the carts being (in some cases) totally immersed.

The systems ... could be toast.  But your games may yet live!
