Well, us Americans couldn't handle animation from Japan back then ... that's around the era of Carl Macek and the wonders that are/is (?) Robotech.

Hoo, boy, I grew up on that cartoon.  And then I watched the Japanese version.

I spent ten minutes desperately trying to find that page I saw a while ago with dialogue samples of the thing. I remember there being a bit that goes basically like this:

Actually, now that I remembered that bit, I'm weirdly tempted to just hunt down a copy and sample it for the camp value.

It was just plain atrocious, and this is a guy who isn't even a big fan of the series.

Star Wars Christmas Special?

Due to Miyazaki having completely failed to put in long 15-minute scenes consisting of nothing but Wookies growling at one another without any subtitles or explanations, I have to say that 'Warriors of the Wind' was forced to become awful through strategic omission as opposed to through adding new stuff.

I have to say I am morbidly curious what would have resulted, had the same mad insane person who designed the VHS cover actually had the resources to turn the movie into a He-man crossover.

Stomach-churning.  I actually worked for Zynga for a week and a half.  This is one of the major reasons I couldn't convince myself to stay there longer.
