All players shall have a team.  They shall call their team what they wish.  The team also must have a logo within the next 48 hours.

Carthrat

A team?

We're not really teams unless there's some incentive to work together, and this law doesn't provide that. There would also need to be some method of choosing teams- remember that plenty of players don't know each other that well yet, so it's hard to form anything concrete.

I don't think he means teams as in, player teams.  I think he means teams as in, "I have a fantasy soccer team, and its called ___."

Ohhhh. I see.

If you were going to have teams, you'd need to force us to use the logo as our avatar. *nodses*

Hmm...this is extremely vague.  A team of players?  How many players per team?  What exactly would be the purpose of these teams?  How would scoring be calculated?  Would proposals be presented by teams rather than individuals?  Things to consider...

CasualSax

I think he's just setting a basis that can be built upon by others.

you're saying every player should have a team, but you don't have a game for these teams to play.  I think we should decide what game teams are for, and being "teams," what units they consist of.  And then, we shouldn't just call them "teams," but rather Football Teams, Soccer Teams (sorry to those whom these mean the same), Orgy Teams, etc.

If I don't know what "team" means, then I don't know what I'm voting for, and so I'd be forced to abstain.

Rezantis

Mm.  Currently this rule doesn't mean anything at all; I would have to vote no.  You have to give it some more structure than that, or an explanation.
Hangin' out backstage, waiting for the show.

SuperusSophia

I agree.  This doesn't really do anything as it stands.

Itarien

Perhaps rather than teams, we could consider them like political parties.

Perhaps members of a team must vote to pass a team members proposal or have points be deducted... after x many points have been deducted in this way they are ejected from the team and have a certain amount of time to be included in another team or create one of their own

Members of a party which has a proposal passed get y points added to their individual scores (appart from the member who put forward the proposal who gets the standard number points for a sucessful proposal)

The downside is you'd be punished for voting against proposals you don't like

However, as a team we'd probably be expected to be organised and have shared our proposals around in a team meeting where we'd revised them a fair bit before the draft officially goes up for debate.

Just some thoughts

CasualSax

That has about as close to nothing to do with the intent of this proposal as anything I can come up with. ^^

but was is the intent of the proposal? what is the purpose of a team? Why should I want a team to start off with? Why should we even pass it? Its seems almost completely irrelevant to the play of the game.

My previous post was just throwing thoughts that would add purpose to this teams concept, doesn't mean we have to use them or even that they're good ideas. The proposal needs a bit more direction.

CasualSax

Its not a team as in.."I am on a team with x, y, and z" its a team as in, "The Saxalotian Slammers face off tonight against the Italian Blasphemers in this heated dodgeball matchup."

SuperusSophia

Sorta like: The High Poomba Casualsax of Saxalotia?  Or The Lord High Poomba of the Saxalotian Slammers?

That could get annoying while trying to type it all out....

CasualSax

*nod* it wouldn't be a required part of the name, I don't think..but would be used when the team was used.
