How many folks would be able to afford 2.5k for an australian trip?

2)Rez
3)Rat (??)

Equally, how many folks are down for chicago, as 007 bends over backwards to make it super awesome?

No way on the trip to Australia. Even if it isn't exactly double for both Cy and myself to go, that's still going to be around 4k-5k.  And we need a new car way more than a cool trip.

Chicago is a maybe.  If we had the gathering around ACEN, it would be fun though. Rosemont is just a short subway ride from Chicago and probably a bit cheaper as well.

Having it here during ACEN was kind of our main idea. (Anime + con + gathering) * Chicago^2 = Awesome

I was pretty big the last time Cy and I were there, adn that was a few years ago.

It's filling in the "we need a giant convention in the mid-west" gap pretty nicely.  I except them to outgrow that convention center sometime.

There's a lot of militaristic characters in anime and video games. I should also point out that people use ACEN to dress up however they want sometimes too. I've seen Star Wars costumes and Indiana Jones.  Sooooo, yeah.
