Haven't I always? Lazarus replies warmly.  His mental 'tone' seems to shift, suddenly becoming a bit more serious.  Right now, New Delphi exists essentially to serve you until the Contest is over.  As many years as that takes....  The question is how much direct control you'd like to have over the town.  If you're comfortable with the way things have been, I can easily keep an eye on things here for you.  But if you need anything done, remember -- we're here for you.

We're all in this together, Lazarus, Bjorn says.  I appreciate what you're saying, but at the same time, let's not forget that part of what makes us us and not them is our respect for each other.

I don't see any need to change the set-up we've got for the moment.  We -- that is, the active Order -- will need to leave soon.  You can do a much better job managing things than us. He grins at Lazarus.  Much as that sounds like damning with faint praise.

If there's something you can do for us, we'll let you know.  And, I hope, the opposite is true just as much.

At the same time -- or possibly at a different time -- Bjorn touches Tim's anchor.  I need to go back to the Earth Dream.

I presume I can help you do that, or you wouldn't be asking me. Any idea of the mechanics involved? If it's what Alan implied last night, it's not going to be easy, unless you know of another way to do it.

Have to re-establish a connection to my other-self in the Earth Dream. Bjorn frowns.  I... should be able to do it myself, if I can touch the Earth Dream.  But I don't have your ability to connect with other Dreams.

Probably not a bad idea for me to ask her about that, either. Don't want to take off in the wrong direction if my guess about how to do it is wrong.

Now, for something a bit more mundane. Any plans for the day, other than brushing up on what we're going to do in Japan?

Glad to hear it, Lazarus says.  And ... I imagine that would take a lot of adapting to.  All we could ask for is help in construction, and Price is already working on assembling something that will allow us to build more quickly.
