I want see some writer turn it around, and have the initially-elitist protagonist end up becoming an otherworld equivalent of Bourdain.  Maybe throw it in as part of a more general buildungsroman.

Maybe I'll try writing it myself.  I can't think of any interesting way to develop my "ungamer" plot outside of the basic idea.

Little Abgail is an out of context problem.  Sort of cute/cthulian, but didn't go much with it yet, seems a decent bit of setup.

A long running SI/Sailor Moon cross. I'm of highly split opinion on it overall, it has a lot of the normal SI issues but there's some interesting worldbuilding in it. It's also a little rough on Luna at first, but at least tries to justify it and pulls up later in a reasonable fashion.

 Luna's legitimately in a terrible situation with how this story works, so it's understandable she's going through all sorts of shock and has made a few bad choices.

Also, one of the upsides is that I found Luna romancing Motoki to be a hilarious idea. Moreso because she notes Usagi's crush on him. Meow, Luna. Meow.

It's worth a glance to see if it's your cup of tea. I'm not sure it's mine.

...wow, Drunkard's Walk. That's something I haven't heard of in like 15-20 years. Kinda amazing they're dedicated enough that it's still going on.

Yeah, it's one of those late 90s/early 00s megacrossover SIs. You can tell from the selection of materials alone it's old school.

Eva AU. It's a rougher world but in an interesting way. There's a lot of good show but don't tell hints going on with the backstory since 2nd Impact and it lends a unique feel to the story. Very interested in seeing more.

Random, unimportant thoughts I had while reading this

First chapter is a bit potty mouthed (or the character likes talking about dicks, for whatever reason).

"'Meimei! Meimei! Help us Big sister Meimei!' he pleaded."

Mei mei is how one says "little sister."  Probably should have gone with A'Mei, or something of the sort.  Doesn't detract from the story, but some of the dialogue using that name sometimes warrants a double take.

Rice. The staple of the world. White rice is delicious. But like all grains, it is a supreme amount of effort. After you husk it, then you have to pound it even more to get the bran and germ off.

Which is why people mostly ate brown rice until they invented machines to process rice.


One standard trashy xianxia opening setting is that the protagonist is loser in a clan that was started by a sect dropout.  The dropout relocates the clan to the most spiritually deprived part of the world, the reason for which is rarely explained.  This reads like the prelude to that setting that no one ever bothers to write. :)

A Ranma/OMG crossover. When Ranma turns 18, turns out he has a contract to be Urd's hero (in the Greek sense of the word) in the world. Shenanigans ensue. Lots of fun and amusingly written.

End of Worm canon Dragon and Defiant are dropped into Remnant. It's interesting with lots of possibilities to how it'll expand.

[spoiler]The two worrying over Aura being a sign of another Entity is reasonable from their point of view and adds a lot of tension. Be interesting to see if it's true or not at all, but the most recent chapter adds more fuel to the fire.

Bakuda accidentally strands Taylor in potter-verse.  She ends up as a bodyguard.  Almost more interesting is the take it does on the Greengrasses, coming across as basically moderates stuck with the pureblood factions terrified at the rise of the dark lord and wanting no part in it.  Daphne as a character aims to try and balance paying attention to obvious signs of danger while not stepping too far away from the Slytherin party line.  Short so far but might get interesting as it goes.

An interesting and different premise for Sailor Moon. It's no great spoiler, it begins to discuss it from Ami's view almost immediately, so I won't bother with a spoiler tag. Sailor Moon and the people of the Moon aren't normal. Think Lovecraft, but in a mildly interesting way. Worth a few chapters to see if the premise grabs you. It doesn't seem to be a deconstruction for whatever that's worth.
