"And what exactly is involved in 'bringing down' this operation? Are we destroying the manufactory, or is there anything more involved?"
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Olvelsper

"Destroying the manufactory. We'll go about town and ask around for its location, and the general information about who built it and is backing it. Then we leave the information with the Wrights. After all this is done, we go in and destroy it and take what we can." Jan stated the plan.

Carthrat

"You make it sound rather simple. Who are the Wrights? What factors may oppose us?"

Mei-Ling doesn't sound terribly convinced, no-sir.
[19:14] <Annerose> Aww, mouth not outpacing brain after all?

"The Wrights are the only allies we have in this town. One of the four major crime families, and telling them what we find out justifies us destroying the drug production. We're going up against another of the major families, but with all the chaos being created by this, no one's going to miss them when they're gone."

"In other words...you'd be clearing the path to the Kingpin for later while strengthening the allies you have in this town." The old man pondered, almost, but not quite, paying attention.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

Shukuen

"Yeah, that's a good summary."

Carthrat

"All in the name of working out the world," says Mei-Ling. "What a curious path we tread."

Olvelsper

"Yeah, but it's the path we have to go down. Anyway, let's go out and begin investigating." Jan left the room, having slung his pack casually over his shoulder as he went.

Mei-Ling rises and follows, content to tag along for now.

Leets lugged his full pack along and swiftly followed.

Heading out, they made there way into the city, a few options open to them.  They could scout out the bars.  Maybe a drunken Ronspecio could be found and..convinced to talk.  They could check out the casinos.  Maybe one of the other families would drop a tip or know more.  They could check with the low lifes or informants or the dealers on the streets.  Someone had to know.  Once they got some info, they could go scout out the actual plant.

It is late afternoon at the moment, the skies starting to darken a bit early for everyone's tastes, but then, what can be expected in a city like this.  The roads were anything but empty as they traveled, as the famous New Reno nightlife was already starting to get into swing.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

Olvelsper

"Let's go to the casinos." Jan started towards where he remembered the major one was. "We won't stick out so much if we ask questions there."

The Big Easy, biggest Casino in all of New Reno, was shortly before them.  The noise, the music, the lights...it was quite an experience, druggies one way, ladies dancing in the streets in front another.  Golden neon lights traced their way up the sides of the building, declaring the name, and all sorts of shifty advertisements.  Dozens were almost always moving in and out of it, past the two rather...towering individuals in fine black business suits that were guarding the door, watching over those coming in with a fairly observant seeming eye.

Well, Goodbye.

Jan started rubbing elbows with the clientele, starting out from the entrance and moving inwards towards where the bars were at, asking less and less discrete questions as he moved.

Making sure to ask peoples at different levels of sobriety, of course.

Asking, he generally got an 'are you stupid' type response, at least close to the doors.  Everyone knew that drug trading stayed on the outside of the casinos, in a fairly dersive manner.

Anyhow though, getting to the bar, the bartender seemed to give the slightest hint of a nervous glance at him listening as good bartenders tend to do.  Only a moment, and he would've missed it completely if it wasn't for his years of experience reading people.
