I have a small box of cards (10), 5 of which have pictures of Nagato Yuki, and 5 of which have pictures of Mutsumi.  On the back, it lists the URLs where my fanfiction can be found.

I think Jon sent it to me, but I also think that it's got Bjorn's signature on the customs form.  This would be the best gift ever; pictures of cute anime girls I can pass out, AND a sample of Bjorn's signature to forge.

This is an appreciation and a shout out.  :D

Also, all of the mail I've received at the new place has been awesome in some way: Stuff from Nintendo, stuff from out of the country....

I don't exactly use this thread much, but hey:

I have a new server for pishoque, I'll ideally be moving it next weekend now that DNS is all in order.  I've been having fun playing with it.

These generic brand ULTIMATE choc-chip cookies are, in fact, pleasingly ultimate.

Skype's a really cool toy!

Transformers was a kinda cool movie.  I mean it didn't feel much like Transformers and there was some very meh stuff, but GIANT ROBOTS!  We need a mechwarrior movie with that kind of budget.

I'm getting to experiment with wacky-ass software RAID configurations on this neat new server!  It's just for us IT people to play with for now!

I have good friends.  I should appreciate them all a lot more than I do, and try harder to keep in touch.

I was contracted to do network administration for a one month period.  Since they seemed inclined to keep me, I've asked for more money and some help doing a few certifications.  The response to this is that I'm 'worth my weight in gold' and to have the list of education I'm interested in pursuing on my boss' desk Monday morning.

I like the people I work with.  This is a nice change.

So I'm getting my life in order.  I have a job I enjoy.  I'm working on advancing my career.  

I'm free.  I don't really have the money right now, but I will - I can go wherever, do whatever.  

I've got hope.  I know what I want and where I want to be in a year's time.  I've got a goal, and I've got a reason to be doing things.  I've got a reason to improve myself.  I haven't had those in ages.

Life is good.

A psych professor having enough confidence in me that they:

Enroll me as a TA and have me sit in on a class I'm not actually taking, purely so that there's a definite tutor for it.

Order a desk copy of a new edition text book for our office.

Invite me to guest lecture a general psychology class on a chapter of my choosing. In the interest of creating a deeper degree of recognition of the tutor as an authority, but the inherent trust is flattering.

And now they can never refuse to give glowing reviews if I use them as a reference for future employment.

I'm finally doing a unit with programming in it again (before I was doing databases, lol SQL), and I'm not screwing it up.

It is something of a comfort to know I haven't forgotten everything, I was worried. >_>
