I'm looking for 3-4 players for a  3.5 edition AD and D; this is for a shortish afternoon game. I'm a GM who has ran 2nd edition his entire life, and I want to splash around in third. Therefore this is marked as a testing game - it'll be a learning experience for me. It'll be a longish one shot adventure, PCs vs dungeon. Nothing too special, but I'll work some RP in as well.

Times: Anywhere from about 10 AM EST to 4 PM EST. Running later occasionally can be arraigned on a case by case basis, but that depends on my days off.

Power level: I'm thinking somewhere from 3-5 or so. Strong enough to take a few hits, but not so strong as to have power security.

Start time: Not for at least a few weeks - probably will roll in mid/late October or November sometime. So you have plenty of time in any event.

Interested?
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Halbarad

Chalk me up as tentatively interested. I should probably learn D&D myself at some point, and this sounds like something decent to try to cut my teeth on.
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Laggy

You know my schedule and it fits okay here, generally free during evenings too. As long as it isn't daily, I'll sign up.

Ebiris

I'mm not around until like 1pm EST most days, so might not be the best timing, but I'm willing to give it a shot if it doesn't inconvenience any other players.

Just a shame that's too low level for me to play a Master of Many Forms...

Asrana

Interest! Mine! Okay, sorry. But yeah, I'm interested and all that.

You sorta know my schedule, it might get interesting and all that, so we'll see what we can put together.
lt;Kotono>  (Currently looks like a 16-year-old girl):I walk up to the leader and say, "Are you so sure you want our money?" and use my alter self ability to grow a massive bulge in my pants.

Anastasia

Okay! I guess that takes care of that. I'll post the raw basics of chargen now; you'll have a few weeks to get things in order and prepare. Stat generation is 4d6, drop lowest, you get two sets of these. Use Hatbot's !rollchar for it. Any statistical outliers will be given a reroll option at the GM's discretion, but I don't see this as likely. Starting level is 6.

The PHB is legal and that's it for chargen. I'm not going to get into splatbooks or suppliments.

Oh, and post your rolls in this topic so we can all reference 'em easily.

Halbarad

Hatbot doesn't like me. NOT THAT THIS IS NEWS.
[08:23] <+Hatbot> Halbarad: 15, 15, 14, 13, 13, 11
For HP: [13:12] * Hatbot --> "Halbarad rolls 5d8 and pray and gets 28." [5d8=1, 8, 7, 4, 8]
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Those are not bad rolls, you whiner. =p

They're obviously not as good as Hotaru's, but they're certainly not bad in any way. =p
<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Ebiris

[18:36] <Hatbot> Ebiris: 18, 14, 14, 10, 10, 9

Since Laggy was kind enough to give me his second roll to play with. I shall memorise lots of heal spells on your behalf, kind sir!

For HP

[19:11] * Hatbot --> "Ebiris rolls 5d8 and gets 15." [5d8=3, 2, 1, 1, 8]

I will definitely use lots of summons, yes.

Laggy

12:23 <+Hatbot> Laggy: 18, 14, 13, 13, 13, 10

Gave the second roll to Eb for fun and profit. Wee!

12:38  * Hatbot --> "Laggy rolls 5d4 and gets 10." [5d4=1, 1, 1, 3, 4]

HP roll ain't so hot, however. Sigh.

More notes:

You can roll your HD or take the assumed average. Whichever works for you. If you roll make sure I'm there then edit the HP roll into your stat post.

No evil PCs. Beyond that I don't care about alignment. I just don't want you guys turning this into PC kills PCs, since this purely a test game.

The following is campaign information each PC will know.

The Temple of Horji Sunborn

The sun kissed and rain blessed jungles of Atavaria. Long north of the temperate lands of the kingdoms of civilised man lies a chartless track of rain forest. It's humidity saps the energy of even the strongest man, save for the dark skinned natives of this place. Long ago they were barely men - barbarians and cannibals, often feasting on those poor souls who came to explore in the name of adventure.

Until Horji came from the depths of the jungle. A dark skinned native, he nonethelese embraced the culture of the north. So much so that he fell into the Church of Pelor, becoming a Paladin under his name. After making himself a legend in the civilised kingdoms, he returned to his home. Bringing the light of the sun he changed the jungle into a fare more civilised if still wild kingdom. Taking the name Horji Sunborn, he became the first ruler of Atavaria, an overking and monarch. His kingdom persists to this day, stable trade now down with the jungle peoples.

On his burial his followers went into the darkest depth of the jungle. There they build a splendid temple to him and laid his body to rest. On his command was a great monument was build around his grave, a giant temple of the jungle, all dedicated to Pelor. Soon it's location was lost, but the legends grew. What was inside?

Treasure uncountable! Magic unfathomable! Splendors incomprehensible!  Perhaps Pelor himself guards Horji Sunborn's tomb, so loyal to his faithful servant! In the darkest tavern corners whispers began - a map here, a foolhardy adventurer there. The location of this lost temple had been found, a slow trickle of adventurers gone to challenge - yet not a soul ever returned from the heart of the rainforest.

How your party came on the information and each's reasons for going is up to you. But now...after two months of difficult travel you have arrived! The Temple of Horji Sunborn is before you. Can you survive and find it's fabeled wealth?
