Devon continued to follow Miaka and her escort, eavesdropping on their conversation as he built a mental map of the grounds while they walked.

O'karn calmly sharpened his blade as he awoke for last watch over the plain.  The stalwart ogre ready to kill everything that crossed him.  His mask was in place and his weapons ready for action.

Fearless Leader
because we've been silent too long.  Damn it, doesn't anyone know how to do watch role playing?!
Well, Goodbye.

Devon silently followed the pair into the main hall.  He clearly heard the conversation they had had about magic, Miaka's request to speak with Zaphiel, and the the soldier refering to Miaka as a guest.

He watched as the young serving girl walked away.

'Just what is going on here?'

Devon moved closer to Miaka, stopping about five feet away.

'Maybe Miaka's chat with Zaphiel will shed some light on this situation...'

Devon stood and waited.  He saw the soldier greet the two and mention a meeting place, before the soldier indicated a direction for Miaka to go.

Quickly glancing around, Devon slipped over to the large armoire on the east wall, more specifically, the tall shadow it cast, entering it's darkened embrace with nary a sound.

'Now I hurry up and wait.' Devon thought wryly to himself while relaxing slightly in the comforting sensation of becoming one with the shadow once more.

Devon didn't have to wait very long as the door opened up, and in stepped four people.  The trailing two were easily identifiable as guards.  The man in front was tall, with silver hair, and radiated self-confidence.  In the middle, was a woman Devon recognized as arriving with them, Areal.

Four Savoirs sat upon the plateau, upon the northern range of mountins that encolosed the peaceful valley they had been brought to.  They were waiting patiently for their new comrade, who had bravely set out to gathern information about the bojective of their quest.  The sun had moved slowly, tracking time as they said little and did less.

The sun long past its zenith, it began to dip below the northern, unexplored, expanse.  A shriek exploded through their midst as a golden bolt pierced the chect of the Englishman, Jeremiah.

Moving quickly, the great O'karn lifted up the small man and held him aloft, a shield against further injury.  He ran towards the north, scattered threes and rockier terran was his goal.

Remdos brought his bow to the ready and and Daggedal raised a shield as they hussled after the large O'karn.

All three saw a flash of light as the air shimmered in front of them and another bolt sped towards them.  O'karn easily shifted his makeshaft shield as the bolt thudded into the dead man's chest.

As the flash occured, Remdos stopped and pulled on the bowstring, an arrow in hand. When the bolt hit the body of Jeremiah, Remdos let the arrow fly towards the center of that shimmering air phenomenom as a test shot.
<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Remdos’ Arrow sped true.  It passed through the air less than 2 inches from where the bolt commenced.  The air shimmered and three men appeared where moments before, there was nothing.

The arrow made a loud “Thump,” as it found its way into the shoulder of the man in the center.

“Idiot!” shouted the man on the left as a flame the size of two balled fists flew form his hands, aiming straight for Remdos.  There was a third man on the right, anxiety clearly covered his face.

O’karn was in the lead, 30 feet from their opponents, with Daggedal  a good five feet behind him, and Remdo, taking up the rear, ten feet further behind.

O'Karn's strong arm swung forth, flinging the dead corpse right at the fireball as he swung to the other side, continuing towards the three in a brutal charge.  His mighty hand reached back for his blade as he unsheathed it, swinging swiftly at the fools before him.

Well, Goodbye.
