Okay, my links page is a bit out of date.

This weekend I will be rehashing it.

To help out, put up link suggestions here.  If you are willing to write a short synopsis of what the link provides, all the better.  Saves me damn time.

Right now, I can only suggest two things:

1) change link to BMS to main page rather than to the simple page. Once I actually update (sometime this summer...maybe), that link will not work. The sad thing is that I have an update ready, I just have not made it simply because I wanna actually have new fic stuff from me to include in the update. ^_^;

2) Add http://www.reallifecomics.com/ to the miscellaneous stuff links. A very excellent online comic which I rate up there with Adventurers and Sluggy for coolness. If you like Penny Arcade, I can't fathom why you wouldn't like this comic either.

I found Real Life comic basically as a result of Greg doing a guest strip on Megatokyo a long time ago. I thought the art was goofy at first, but it looked interesting, and I went to the site. The art grew on me, and now it's one of my all time favorite comics ^_^

Oh, and please take the Gord link off, because Gord is a lying asshole, and the most frothing PS2 fanboy on the planet to boot. Here's his crowning glory, the e-drama that cemented him as an irredeemable dick.

Okay, we on Something Awful found the link to Actsofgord, read it, laughed (though some people said he made all of it up), and some people said that he was so funny, we should buy him an account. We did.

We expected him to post funny game store owner stories, but all he did was troll gaming threads with skewed sales numbers, claim the X-Box and Gamecube were dead, and that Nintendo and Microsoft hated all gamers because they weren't making PS2 games (I shit you not). Oh, and he raved a lot about how cool he was and how many game devs called him for advice.

So anyway, time goes on, we all gt fucking sick of him, he moves to Korea and buys an X-Box, blah blah blah. His trolling came in waves, and after one particularly nasty one, a user by the name of "Corbalt" posted a thread entitled "GORD, I'M CALLING YOU OUT!" in the "no-rules" forum, Fuck You And Goatse.cx. It was immediately stickied by Lowtax, site proprietor, because Lowtax was not a fan of Gord (Gord had trolled a thread involving Lowtax's marketing deals with Speakeasy, claiming Lowtax was a thief. He got banned and bout another account.)

In this thread, Corbalt levied a challenge: They would duel in StarCraft. Best of ten matches, a tiebreaker if necessary. Lots of people threw around suggestions for what the bet would be -- manyof them involving PayPaling money -- but the stakes that admin El Pinto Grande were taken as final: If Gord won a single game, Corbalt would be banned and have to buy his account back for $10. If Corbalt won every game he played, Gord would be banned forever from Something Awful.

I take this point to mention that Corbalt is one of the top ten Brood War players in the Western Hemisphere.

Anyway, Gord hemms and haws, but finally accepts the challenge. He then says that theyll only have to play 1 game, that he's never been beaten in the past 4 years, that Corbalt is a pimply loser who wants to be a "pro gamer", so on and so forth. Corbalt tells him to shut the fuck up and sets a date for their duel.

The date passes, nothing happens. Gord was reading the forums at the time, but did not respond to the duel thread. Corbalt says he'll go with whatever date Gord posts, but Gord doesn't post anything in the thread for a week -- he read the forums every day, and the thread was stickied to the top so it ain't like he missed it. His excuses grew more and more bizarre -- at one point he claimed he couldn't play because it wasn't really HIM at the computer, it was the hot Korean chick in his lap that he was about to have sex with. Finally, a time was set. The two warriors met for battle, accompanied by a host of observers.

Gord contnued to smack-talk Corbalt up until the first match. Then, his tone changed to that of someone in a prison shower who'd just dropped the soap. Gord was defeated utterly ten times in a row. Every game, Corbalt used the same strategy -- the dreaded DARK TEMPLAR RUSH! Gord never moved to counter it.

Oh, but he did have excuses. He claimed that Corbalt was a maphacker, since he knew what race Gord was playing as (never mind that when you pick "Zerg" as your race in the ready room, everyone can see it), and that they'd only played 9 games, not 10. Corbalt laughed.

1 minute and 30 seconds later, Gord posted an insanely long rant in FYAG about how the forums were out to get him, Lowtax was a liar, he hated this place, Corbalt cheated, blah blah blah. IT was pages long, and there was no way he could have written it in the time since he was beaten. The only way it could have happened was if he'd written this huge rant about the evils of Lowtax, saved it, then continued to use Lowtax's forums until he was banned, adding the Corbalt parts at the last minute.

Lowtax quoted the entire post, responded with "what", and banned Gord into the moon.

Now you know why Gord is a dick.

The idea of killing a link because the person is an ass is utterly moronic.

One usually goes to a site for the content to be found within, not the webmaster's charming personality.


Addendum: Changing the link's synopsis tag, however, would seem a more decent request to make, given those experiences with the person.
