Carth's magical adventure, ROUND TWO, MOTHERFUCKERS!

[Carthrat]

Carthrat gives a whistle. "We're being tailed, Rach. Which calls for taking a shortcut," he says, suddenly driving into a sidestreet, mostly devoid of cars..

[Anastasia]

She says nothing, instead eyeing behind you as you turn.

On the side street, you notice that it takes a bit for the tails to turn and catch up, giving you some leeway to escape or try another breakaway.

[Carthrat]

Carthrat opens the window, leans outside, and fires the equivalent to an Anti-Tank missile from his Disrupter at the tail, then quickly goes back to driving.

[Anastasia]

The shot hits the front tailing car, reducing it to a hunk of metal in short order. It stops in it's tracks, taking up a lane of the narrow road.  One of the tails crashes into it, while the other narrowly skips by the mess by hugging the side of the road.

[Carthrat]

"Blast that car, Rach," says Carthrat, concentrating on the road. "Take your time, you've got until we reach the main road again."

[Anastasia]

Rachel rolls down the window and tries to aim...

The flash of her blast is seen out of the corner of your eye. A split second later a explosion is heard. "Damn," she mutters, "I hit a wall instead of the car."

[Carthrat]

Using the rearview mirror to aim, Carthrat points his Disrupter over his shoulder and fires at the car.

"A single degree alters the course of a shot, Rachel."

[Anastasia]

You fire, but the chase car violently turns, avoiding the shot as it flies over the street.  With an act that shows a good level of driving skill, the car comes out of the turn and continues to follow.

[Carthrat]

Carthrat fires again, peppering the car with a constant stream of Laser Death.

[Anastasia]

The first two blasts are avoided in a virtuoso show of defensive driving, and before you can fire again the road turns back into a main road. This requires you to turn, so you can't get a shot for a few moments...

[Carthrat]

Carthrat chucks a grenade into the street and hopes he has the timing right, and then vanishes into the traffic and hopes to get to Shinjuku ASAP.

[Anastasia]

Later, you wouldn't be able to say if the grenade got the chase car entirely, but after the blast you didn't see hide nor hair of it as you zoomed away.  After getting back into the main traffic stream, you are able to get to Shinjuku and your destination with no difficulty...

[Carthrat]

Carthrat pulls the car into a (miraculously free) parking space, and checks out the surrounding area for any goons.

[Anastasia]

You don't see anybody that could be mistaken for a goon. In fact, it looks relatively normal here.

Rachel does look rather uneasy and nonplussed, however, like she was shaken up. Her face shows worry,despite efforts to hide it.

[Carthrat]

"Let's go, Rach-chan," says Carthrat, getting out the car. There's no point running a scan, he's in Shinjuku, freak district of Japan..
