Carth's magical adventure, ROUND TWO, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Carthrat stands in the queue, sizing up the other applicants..

[Anastasia]

Most of these people are muscular, but all sizes and shapes, not to mention races, abound. Most look comfortable and bored here, like it's something they have to do every day.

After about fifteen minutes, you make it to the head of the line. "How can I help you, sir," the wo...no, a humanoid robot, one meant to look mostly human, asks.

[Carthrat]

"I'm here to fight," replies Carthrat. "But tell me, what sort of income does this place make?"

[Anastasia]

"You are here to fight for the first time, sir," the robot presses, curious. "If so, you will need to fill a waver of responsibility, vengence by family/clan/race members, ill malice, and other events in the case of your death or dismemberment." she points to a small computer console off to the side. "It can be filled out there."

[Carthrat]

Carthrat ponders, then shrugs.

"In the event of my untimely death, all my possessions will be made out to one Rachel Lees," he fills out, figuring that's about it.

[Anastasia]

Along with a few check boxes and a place to certify it, the form is simple and you fill it out quickly. After another wait in line...

"Thank you. As a first time competitor, you are limited to matches in the D bracket." the robot says.

[Carthrat]

"Right. Can I just ask how the system works?" asks Carthrat, pondering.

[Anastasia]

"Certainly.

The competition system here is set into brackets. The higher the bracket, the higher the skill level of the competitors. The prize money increases as the bracket goes up.  

D bracket is for beginners, once  you win four matches here, you can go into the C bracket. From there, upgrades are based on performance and skill shown.

The pay for a D bracket match is C50 for the victor and none for the loser, minus any medical expenses you may occur after the match. All D bracket matches are non lethal." The robot spouts this out, obviously a prepared message.

[Carthrat]

"Right," replies Carthrat. "So how do the fights work? Any rules apart from not killing them or whatever?"

[Anastasia]

"The rules of the battle vary. Matches range from grappling, to shooting and all other forms of combat, to free matches with no parameters. The specific rules of a match are annouced in the sign up for the match."

[Carthrat]

Carthrat figured that. "Right.

So what now, then?"

[Anastasia]

"You may now register for a battle in the D bracket," the robot says. "Would you like to see a list for the day's open D bracket matches?"

[Carthrat]

"Why not?" replies Carthrat, peering interestedly..

[Anastasia]

She hands you a long sheet of computer print out. "Here you go. Please indicate which match you would like to sign up for."

There are four open slots in battles today, it seems.

1. Rangulus v Open Slot

Type - Free Battle, Non Lethal.

2. GXL 34 v Spiri v Open Slot

Bare handed, Non Lethal.

3. Doga v Open Slot

Guns - non energy based, Non Lethal.

4. Uzua v ABII and Open Slot

Free Handicap Match, Non Lethal.

"I'll take on this Doga guy," says Carthrat, hands already going through the motions for a slip-fast-draw.. ahh, back to the good 'ol days, when gunslinging was gunslinging and you didn't need to worry about tactics, grenades, politcal manipulation, tanks, and the like.
