Umi manages to poke a hole in another monks head, but then she recieves a jarring blow to the rear, which almost knocks her down. the celestial creatures pite ankles and peck eyes, disorientating the Doji force.

Jyoshi takes out another monk himself, his staff twirling to thwack another up the rear. Battle cries sound all around, as well as the screams of elves elsewhere in the villiage.

[Ebiris]

Her Shield of Faith in place, Fuu wades into the melee, punching out at the nearest monk as she makes her way towards Master Jyoshi.

[Corwin]

Righting herself from the blow, Umi begins fighting more defensively, still attempting to aid Master Jyoshi.

[Halbarad]

Hikaru steps back and takes careful aim at one of the monks on the edge of the combat before casting Fire Shuriken at him.

[Carthrat]

Hikaru's shuriken slam into the nearest Doji monk, who screams and drops to the ground. Fuu's punch is unfortunately blocked by her target, who retaliates with a fierce backkick that Fuu can easily deflect.

Meanwhile, Umi impales yet another monk, her rapier now dripping with blood and brain.

The odds are countable, now, there's exactly 9 monks and 12 elves left in the fight.

Suddenly, a high-pitched whistle is heard, and the monks break up from the fight and spread out, rushing from the villiage and away from the villiage.

But still the sounds of elfin screams are heard from within the burning villiage..

[Ebiris]

As the monks break off, Fuu unslings her bow and swiftly nocks an arrow, shooting it at the nearest fleeing monk's back.

Normally she might frown on using tactics such as these, but the Doji had proven themselves to be dishonourable, and undeserving of courtesy.

[Halbarad]

Hikaru quickly readies her shortbow and lets an arrow fly towards one of the retreating monks.

[Corwin]

Umi flicks her rapier, trying to clear it of the gunk. Turning towards the head elf, she asks, "How many more are attacking the village, Master Jyoshi?"

[Carthrat]

Fuu misses by a long shot, her arrow slamming into the ground just in front of Hikaru, giving her a start. Despite that, Hikaru's shot brings down a monk, getting him soundly through the chest.

"Not many," replies Jyoshi, leaning on his staff. "They're waving around torches and setting fire to anything they can. Go, quickly! All of you!" he continues, waving his hand at the remaining bushi. "Save what's left!"

The bushi scatter..

Fuu's facial muscles twitch in annoyance as she reaches for her quiver and nocks another arrow, hoping for better luck as she shoots another Doji monk.

[Halbarad]

Hikaru hops sideways a few inches as Fuu's arrow nearly impales her foot. After shooting the brown-haired elf a reproachful glance, she takes aim and looses another arrow at one of the monks.

[Corwin]

"We came too late," Umi says angrily. "The Matsu have allied themselves with the Doji, and plan on invading us and destroying everything. We were just on our way to report to the capital and Sakura-san."

As she speaks, Umi looks over the older elf for wounds.

[Carthrat]

Jyoshi is battered, bruised, has several broken bones, and a few cuts here and there.

None of the wounds look serious by themselves, but when put together, you get someone who looks like they just walked through a river of blood then fell down a flight of 50ft stairs.

"I'll be fine," he says. "Go with the bushi! I don't know how many monks there are in the villiage. And try and take one prisoner," he snarls. "I'll find out just why the Doji aid the Matsu."

Fuu's arrow slams into the neck of a fleeing monk, while Hikaru barely misses her own toe when she trips over her feet.

[Corwin]

Umi nods. Calling out, "Fuu, please help Master Jyoshi!" she rushes into the village, looking for Doji monks or elves in need of assistance.

[Halbarad]

Hikaru takes a deep breath to steady herself, then fires again at the distant backs of the monks.
