The mysterious desert corpse was carrying the following things:

A sealed letter intended for Belinda Haverbrook in the City of Brass

1x Arrow-catching light steel shield +1
1x Axiomatic cold iron longsword +1
1x Ring of Protection +2
A masterwork dagger
A mithril shirt

Additionally the signet ring is quite finely-crafted and should be worth a good 100gp

Stephanie successfully gambled for:

-A +1 flaming composite longbow with a STR rating of 20

A pile of jewlery
1x masterwork full plate armor
1x masterwork warhammer

The magical items are:

1x Amulet of Natural Armor +1
1x Medal of Gallantry (as per MIC)
1x Ring of Dragon Friendship (as per MIC)

Stephanie determines the collective value of Blackbird's oddments of jewelry--a couple raw gems, notably more rings/earrings/necklaces--to be 4,275gp.

Title: Re: Loot thread

Julia would rather have currency which she can convert into black onyx for... reasons.
Title: Re: Loot thread
Post by: Carthrat on April 08, 2013, 07:11:14 AM
Ring of Dragon Friendship (16,000)
Amulet of Natural Armor (2,000)
Medal of Gallantry (675)
MW Full Plate: (1,600)
MW War Hammer: (312)

= 10293.5gp (goods sold at 1/2?)
+4,275 (jewels, sold at full price?)
+6,782 (coins)

Total GP = 21,350 approx

So... let's say there are 6 shares. One goes to each of us, Rosemund, and Marina, and we'll distribute the rest evenly between the rescuees as a 'get started' fund? Would give us 3558.3 gp each.

Thing readily recognizes the pilfered narcotics as Crimson Orphtos

Crimson Orphtos is a hallucinogenic Abyssal weed that when burned and inhaled floods the user's senses with empowering fantasies--one may believe he is exceptionally strong, talented, or charming, enough to fulfill whatever suppressed desires or failed goals frustrate him in everyday life, and bask in realistic delusions of a parallel world wherein he exploits these exceptional abilities for the greatest personal satisfaction regardless of the cost to others. The nature of these visions can vary in character according to the Abyssal layer on which the root was grown. Although users are not physically incapacitated by the drug, most users tend to lie comatose while entranced by their visions. However, the unpredictability of Abyssal flora occasionally produces quite the opposite reaction in some users--some have been reported taking violent and real physical action to participate in their newly perceived reality.

Users actively under the influence suffer 1d4 WIS damage upon initial exposure (fort DC 18 to resist). Exposure for more than two consecutive hours runs the risk of permanent WIS drain (1 point per failed save).

Crimson Orphtos is highly addictive (fort DC 15 to resist addiction).

A bundle of the drug sufficient for an hour's hallucinations usually runs at a price of 250gp. Thing retrieved enough of the drug for sixteen hours' worth of dubious recreation.

-Orc male, single-eyed, adorned in armor of bone. Berserker.
-Drow male, dressed in arcane robes. Prominent facial scar, magically potent.

Julia takes the ring of protection +2 and offers up her ring of protection +1 to anyone who wants it.
Title: Re: Loot thread
Post by: Sierra on August 03, 2013, 12:53:48 PM
Rosey will take the breastplate, heavy shield, and heavy mace if no one else wants them. They're all an upgrade over her current gear.

Brenna will take one of the mithril shirts since there's plenty to go around. She can also use one of the rapiers (if Julia wants her pick back).

Rosey and Brenna both already have a Ring of Protection +1 or better, but Brenna can use the amulet if no one else cares about it. Speak up or forever hold your peace, etc.

Both of your allies refuse to touch the corset or the mask.

Julia will happily take her pick back.
Title: Re: Loot thread

I'll get one of the mithril chain shirts, they look suitably local and I'm a failuredruid who doesn't care it's metal. I'd also get the cloak +2 and slap the wilding clasp on it.

Say, Cid, wouldn't Brenna be better with the hand crossbow despite whatever penalties for proficiency she takes?

Cid, how much did the dao pay us for Isabel + info on Pheretima Kyriazis? The full 7,250gp, or just part of it due to the info they gave us back on the pair of slaves?

Non-proficiency penalty is -4. That's pretty harsh and her attack rolls would actually be slightly worse using it (13 STR, 19 DEX).

And 7,250 from the dao. Let me know how money gets split up whenever you get any so I can update Rosey's sheet accordingly.

Retrieved thus far from Xenobia's house in Peridot:

-A grand pile of noble finery collectively worth 1,450gp. Xenobia had expensive tastes.

-Viswyr's wings: this is a pair of succubus wings that has been unnaturally preserved post the death of their late owner. When joined to the bare flesh of any medium-sized humanoid, they will graft themselves onto the organism and functionally become part of their new owner's body, non-removable save by careful surgery. This renders the owner unable to wear conventional armor unless specially altered to allow the wings egress, but grants the following bonuses:

-A fly speed of 50 ft (average maneuverability)
-A +4 enhancement bonus to the bearer's Charisma score
-Spell-like abilities (1/day, CL 12th, bearer's CHA mod used for saving throw DCs): Charm Monster, Detect Thoughts, Suggestion
-Elec resist 10

-2x Farspeaking Journal: Each of these books constitutes one half of a matched pair. One is for writing, the other for receiving. What is written in the one will appear on the pages of its mate wherever it may be elsewhere in the planes.

The two in your possession are not a matching pair, meaning what is written in your log book will appear in some unknown individual's receiving journal somewhere in the universe. And vice versa, your receiving book is tuned to a log book owned by an unknown correspondent.

The journals do not automatically encrypt their contents. This was done manually by the previous correspondents.

-1x consumptive cold iron dagger +1 (consumptive = +1d8 negative energy on hit)

-Dimensional Shackles, as per SRD.

The painting Queen of Chaos gifted to Stephanie upon her return to Amaranth.

The painting is a life-sized rendition of the model and demonstrates supreme talent--the recreation is astonishingly lifelike and convincing. Upon the canvas, Stephanie sits crosslegged on a throne of sculpted earth, the throne having a solid, hand-made look to it. She is nude and represented in full fiendish glory, despite the painter never having witnessed Stephanie's true form, and bears an expression of serene confidence in all that she might ever choose to do. Each palm is upraised; above her right hand a sphere of glistening water coalesces, above her right a simmering orb of flame. The winds of Limbo swirl tortuously about her, sending her hair in a wild whirl above her.

Tallying up base values for Cor's list of unclaimed gear, previously unsold because I had neglected to list them with values attached (a bad habit I shall avoid in future). These are base prices; selling used gear is half price plus whatever bonus Stephanie gets from Profession.

Weird stuff:

2x Farspeaking Journal: 7,500gp each
Abyssal narcotics: 4,000gp total. Sell at full price. Brazenly selling this may have legal consequences, however.

Magical gear:

Winter's Raiment: 45,000gp
Mother's Corset: 7,200gp
Masuko's flail: 50,308gp (Cursespewing is a +3 equivalent enhancement)
Gloom Mask: 3,000gp

Rosemund should get the cash for herself, obviously. Also, I'm going to split that diamond she used to try and rez the demonic sacrifice with. Anyone else?

Are we selling the demon drugs?

Are we selling the rest?

2x Farspeaking Journal: 7,500gp each

Winter's Raiment: 45,000gp
Mother's Corset: 7,200gp
Masuko's flail: 50,308gp (Cursespewing is a +3 equivalent enhancement)
Gloom Mask: 3,000gp

60% of 164,736gp => 98,857.8gp /4 => 24,714.45gp for each of us and Rosemund.

Rosemund also gets:
Heavy mace +1: 2,312gp
Mithril breastplate +1: 5,350gp
Mithril heavy shield +1: 2,170gp
=> 60% of 9,832gp => 5,899.2gp

And since we all pay 1,250gp for our shares in the rez diamond (5,000gp) she also gets back 3,750gp from us for that.

Each of us three gets 24,714.45gp - 1,250gp = 23,464.45gp
Rosemund gets 33,363,65gp

-28k for the round tower!

Once suitably ensconced in her new home, Julia casts lesser planar binding to summon a small earth elemental which she encourages to go map out the ground beneath her tower. Barring it finding anything interesting, she'll then summon and encourage a thoqqua in the same manner to begin digging out a large subterranean dungeon.

For some reason she likes the idea of living far from the sky all of a sudden.

Also I guess -2k to furnish the tower and dungeon in a suitable fashion? Nothing elaborate yet.

Excavations beneath Julia's new home reveal that the rise her tower occupies was once a burial mound, in some prehistoric era. Interred side by side far below the surface are the skeletal remains of an ogre and a dire wolf. Most of the grave goods have decayed or been crushed into worthlessness by collapse of the crypt, but the warrior's dessicated corpse still retains a club and a smattering of primitive jewelry.

Burning Hand station journal

This is a handwritten logbook composed of black ink on plain parchment. The penmanship and writing both demonstrate only a grudging association with literacy. Most of the entries constitute an utterly a mundane recitation of training regimen, disciplinary beatings, and martial evaluations of the Lieutenant's trainees. The log entries begin somewhat over a year ago (keeping roughly to the familiar Solati calendar), and you quickly realize that the bulk of them can be skimmed without missing any content of importance.

The exceptions, however, stand out in strikingly agitated hand whenever the author should be confronted with something not wholly under his control. These highlights are earliest dated a couple months past; they initially express frustration over barracks food shortages and a concurrently suspicious improvement in the health of the common townsfolk, and then proceed as follows:

Spoiler: ShowHide
I have my eye on Trooper Levesque.

The man does not bow or even salute me when we pass in the street. Id have him whipped in the square for insolence were he not still useful to the company. But not part of the company anymore he says. He can fool himself all he likes. Once a man of the corps always a man of the corps.

When he returned last year I took it a dutiful sign. Ysgard! Thought he mightve learnt something martial there and returned to put it to use. Instead came back with all the skills of a grocer. What kind of man spends years in a world of endless battle then lives to avoid battle? A failure slunk back to roost.

But consider, years away from the corps, possibly led astray by outside influences? Best suspect for black market supplier. Smuggle on the side what he doesnt sell to us? Must arrange investigation.

...

Diverted Trooper Levesque with query about requisitions, sent squad to search his place of business. Nothing suspicious on premises. Serjeant Jacques "read account books til eyes bled" and found nothing out of place. Logs note everything brought into town. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing out of proportion to inventory.

Told the men to take care, leave no clear sign of investigation. No need to antagonize him while he remains useful supplier of sundries. Still they were only recruits, likely broke something. Sharp fellow would notice, but he passes me by this morning and walks with the same bland smile. The man is an imbecile and I will look elsewhere.

...

Sharply questioned Crooked Anna re missing supplies. Ugly slut "took offense at my tone." Warned her Id give her more to take offense at if no cooperation. Opened her doors and books at that. Axnar misliked her aura, but the men found nothing unexpected. Magic supplies mostly, have to take her word at it mostly but still no missing food. Some exotic spirits. No surprise there, nothing else to share her bed with at night.

Imp may not be wrong about mistrusting her but imps suspicions not enough cause to have her whipped in the square. Too bad, might teach her to keep her eyes on the ground, but travelers oft need magic shop. One of these days should find excuse to oust the wench from that store. Give it to Tolliver so that fool magell actually be here when we need him.

...

Spoke with Halja. Waste of time, she makes too much coin guiding slavers to her kin on the other side to bother selling our food to peasants. Greedy but not stupid, wouldnt risk business for a few extra coppers by breaking the rules. Too bad, like her stench least of the merchants.

Not Trooper Levesque not Anna not Halja. No reason for Esgara or his men to steal food they cant eat and even less for him to supply the townspeople. Need I question my own men about this foolishness? What man of them would dare? Have made clear cost of indiscipline. Maybe more examples needed.

...

Strange visitor today, comely maiden with fire for hair. Is it fire everywhere? Awful thought.

Not strange for hair, strange for questions. Asked about the Captains prize, that old paladin thought to set us free. As though a man should wish for another kind of life! Fire maiden named herself Vigilia, asked about the paladin and her friends. Asked openly and indiscreetly. Dangerous attitude. Fed her some story and sent her off to Brass. Captain should know what to do with her.

Misliked her friends, glad to see them gone before they could cause trouble. Dont need anyone talking about the old days and unsettling the rabble.

...

Spoke to Quartermaster Gunnerson. Examined current stores along with current and past inventories. Counted everything, EVERYTHING twice. No mistakes. Did he ever see anyone around the storehouse without permission I asked. No he says, but...but what? He fiddles with his hands, wont look me in the eye. I press him, what is it? The books arent right he says. Logs match inventory but not memory, he says, swears he writes ten barrels ale one night, log reads nine barrels there in morning.

I do not think he lies to cover theft. Confusion plain on his fat face. Too fat, I will prescribe laps round the border. He is an idiot and Id replace him with one of my serjeants could I spare any.

Who is left? Peasants showing unexpected skills? Barrel of ale tough thing to hide. Will employ judicious whippings until confession.

...

MURDER. There has been a MURDER on my watch!

Serjeant Glaswell dead outside barracks this morning, own sword thrust in gut. What was he doing outside? Why no noise? Gut wounds a long death. Cant be accident, wouldve cried out. Could call it accident, avoid looking weak to town, but no, would admit cowardice to murderer. I admit no such thing. Brazen acts must be answered in kind.

I see now Ive been too easy on them all. Made sweep of houses, company food in nigh every house. So many whippings and no confession. They mock me behind my back and it will not stand.

So be it. Examples must be made.

...

Gave Smith Gerrel to the flames this morning. We took his daughter last year and she was Serjeant Glaswells favorite. Reason enough.

Watched crowd as he burned. These people are so defeated but someone resists, mimics their woe while he plots. Ill break this man should he be the very last standing.

...

Serjeant Jacques is dead. Cut in training mishap morning, treated by barracks nurse noon, frothing purple dead come evening. Obvious poison. Who else in town knows enough to poison? Womans weapon, too much medicine its own poison.

Ive given the traitorous harlot to the flames in recompense.

...

Serjeant Dixon torn by claws, left at edge of old camp. Wounds festered with disease. Asked Axnar, what could cause such injuries? Axnar says ghoul. Halja not possibly stupid enough to kill so obviously. Unless she wants me to think that? Plan to throw off suspicion by being TOO suspicious? Makes no sense. Brought squad to her shop and questioned her anyway. Angry at accusation, called guards, threatened confrontation. Barely cowed by Cokelys arrival. I should have him with me at all times now.

Halja says she was in shop all evening, doing business with merchant Cadden. Spoke to Cadden, confirmed story. Maybe he is in on it. Maybe they are all in on it. These people are losing their fear. I must remind them of it.

I burned one of the peasants instead. Must not be seen that justice has been evaded.

...

Two of my senior troopers were cut to pieces last night. Sneaking off to breeding cells during rest hours. Stupid fools shouldve known damn well reason for curfew. Would say better off without them but I need every man at this time.

I will burn another peasant tomorrow. Something is in the air. They are all against me and I am a step from butchering every one. This must end before the Captain can hear of it.

...

[The most recent entry was hastily dashed off just this morning:]

New arrivals at the execution this morning, four women. Not seeking the portal. They didnt even know it was here! What purpose here if not transit through portal? Very curious and they bear watching. Suspicious to have sightseers during rebellion. Will take no action if visitors cause no trouble, Captains orders...But if they do well the men could use fresh mates and I think I fancy whitehaired sons.

Burning Hand account book

This logbook tracks company finances over the past two years. At a quick glance, the majority of deductions come from mundane supply purchases; the income is mostly flagged "tribute" or "Captains stipend." There is also a monthly deduction of 250 gold marked simply as "Esgara."

The writing becomes erratic in more recent entries. The author begins making daily counts and the total often fluctuates by one or two gold between days without any purchases or income marked to account for the changes. The penmanship spikes with visible frustration and the author often crosses out and recounts a day's tally when discrepancies with the previous day's sum occur. Over the past month, the entries become interspersed with paranoid outbursts, promises of retribution for unknown parties, and vicious profanity.

Yesterday's count of the Ashpile station's treasury amounts to 5,123 gold pieces.

For Stephanie's reference:

The Vampiric weapon trait is a +2 enhancement. With it, the weapon deals 1d6 extra damage to any living target; the user is healed by an amount equal to damage inflicted in this manner.

Belinda's letter affords you half-price for a new weapon or for the addition of that enhancement to an existing weapon.

-For the former, post-discount that amounts to: +1 vampiric dagger, rapier, or short sword (the options Stephanie asked about): 9,151gp, 9,160gp, 9,155gp.

-For the latter, consult this chart: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm. Cost would be half the difference between the weapon's current total enhancement cost and the new (+2 for vampiric trait) total enhancement cost.

Captain Dalton's enchanted possessions include the following:

-1x longsword
-2x ring
-1x torc

Vixri carried the following magical items:

-1x longspear
-1x ring

Dalton's vaults contained the following treasure trove:

-32,659 raw gp
-A pile of unappraised gems and jewelry
-1x pearl (magical)
-A fine turquoise decanter (magical)
-A detailed model of a city, a foot wide and as tall at its topmost towers, supported by a plethora of eerily lifelike legs (magical, K:P also applies)
-An object of metalwork, one foot high (magical): a tree of metal spikes decorated with the impaled bodies of men and woman. Though ghastly, the artistry applied to their expressions of suffering is impressive.
-A tiny and extremely lifelike statue of a dragon (not magical, but K:A applies). The little creature looks to be stretching and yawning, as if captured in the process of waking. The stone medium is gray and very dull.
-A glass vial containing a sluggishly viscous gray liquid (magical)
-A cameo locket of a hideously ugly woman, worked in onyx with ruby eyes (unappraised)
-A stone sphere, mottled red and blue (magical)
-A long, clear prism (magical)

Identified items:

-Lawgiver: This +2 axiomatic cold iron longsword, in addition to having the expected effect of a law-aligned weapon, also disrupts the balance of the foes it was meant to smite--any chaotic creature damaged by the sword must pass a DC 16 fort check or be stunned for 1 round. (45,000 gp)

-Ring of Force Shield (as per SRD, 8,500 gp)

-Ring of Protection +3 (18,000 gp)

-Vampire Torc (as per MIC, 5,000 gp). 2/day: the user heals half the damage of the next successful melee attack made within their current turn (the charge is wasted if the user does not land a hit before their turn is over).

~

-The Hag's Nail: despite its curious name, this +2 cold iron longspear is in fact infused with the malevolent essence of a bearded devil. Creatures damaged by this weapon are inflicted with infernal wounds, suffering 2 additional damage per round thereafter. Such wounds can only be remedied via DC 16 Heal check, a Cure spell, or a Heal spell (DC 16 CL check for spells to succeed). This effect only functions against living creatures that can bleed. When not in use, the weapon may be employed as a Ring of Protection +3; the bearer may alter its form as a swift action.

Non-evil creatures wielding the Hag's Nail suffer from distracting mental whispers as the fiend trapped within the spear jabbers discouragingly at its host; neutral creatures take a -2 penalty to all INT/WIS/CHA-based skill checks, good creatures -4.

-Soulforged Ring: the gem of this ring contains the actual soul of a hell-bound mortal. Whenever its wearer is at or below half of their maximum health, they may expend one charge to focus their own suffering on the soul within and through its agony gain the following benefit for 1 minute: one extra strike during a full attack (made at full BAB; this extra attack does not stack with similar effects such as Haste); or a +3 profane bonus to AC. While the effect lasts, the wearer may choose to switch the current effect at the start of their turn as a free action.

When the ring's charges are exhausted, the soul within will be irrevocably destroyed (though the ring will continue to exist as a semi-valuable bauble). There are presently 7 charges remaining.

It is unlikely that casually attempting to sell either of these fiendish items on the open market in Solata would be well-received.

~

-Pearl of the Sirines (as per SRD, 15,300 gp)

-Decanter of Endless Water (as per SRD, 9,000 gp)

-Micro Metropolis: Franceska recognizes this curious magical device as a miniature replica of the Crawling City, power capital of the wicked yugoloths on the plane of Gehenna. The miniature appears to have been enchanted to serve as a mobile beverage trolly--numerous towers are crafted as cupholders of varying sizes, and can extend vertically to accommodate patrons of varying height. The city can obey simple commands of "Go," "Stop," and "Come," though if a command sends it as much as two hundred feet from its last patron, it will simply stop and await new orders. Finding a buyer for a recreation of a fiendish city might be difficult.

-The Tree of Woe: this fiendish object d'art is enchanted to remind its owner of cherished conquests past. Pricking one's finger on the tip of the tree and chanting "Victory!" in Infernal will establish one as the owner of the tree, and cause the assorted sculpted sufferers upon the tree to take on lifelike resemblances to all sentients personally killed by the owner. Finding a buyer for such an object in civilized lands may be difficult.

-Franceska recognizes the tail stinger as indication that the dragon statue is meant to be a pseudodragon--playful, miniaturized cousins of the great beasts everyone knows and fears. They are generally friendly, if choosy in their companions.

-Potion of Temporary Permanence: this rare draught, when drunk, will make the subject immune to petrification for a year and a day. The vile flavor and unsavory composition also renders the subject sickened for a week, however. A DC 21 fort save will negate the sickness; the subject may attempt a new save once each successive day, but should the subject complete this week without ever passing the requisite save, the potion will be vomited up and its positive effect lost forever. (22,000 gp)

-Ioun Stone of +2 Intelligence (as per SRD, 8,000 gp)

-Gem of Brightness (as per SRD, 13,000 gp)

After an exhaustive survey under the sunny skies of Arcadia, Stephanie concludes the market value of the pile of gems and jewelry to be 24,325 gp.

The locket could command as much as 1,200 gp on the grounds of artistry and materials alone in spite of the hideousness of the subject, though a sale might have to wait for a buyer with a yen for interplanar horrors.

<-- Franceska is interested in it

-Franceska recognizes the tail stinger as indication that the dragon statue is meant to be a pseudodragon--playful, miniaturized cousins of the great beasts everyone knows and fears. They are generally friendly, if choosy in their companions. <-- consensus right now seems to be having Rosemund use Break Enchantment on it.

(22,000 gp)

-Ioun Stone of +2 Intelligence (as per SRD, 8,000 gp) <-- Stephanie is interested in it.

-Gem of Brightness (as per SRD, 13,000 gp)

City of Brass #3 (http://www.soulriders.net/forum/index.php/topic,102642.msg1047875.html#msg1047875)

The tree does not presently contain the likenesses of anyone you recognize.

I don't recall any mention of Esgara's spear being taken from him; though people did mention wishing to sell it at some point, Eb didn't line relieving him of it before sending him to fight the roof goons, and I rolled their offscreen fight under the assumption that he retained the weapon.

I remember Eb talking about selling the expensive spear and getting a masterwork one for him instead, but I suppose that was all in #e. I guess that the guards won't be looking too hard for us, then!

I'll do a final tally once Cid posts what (if anything) Rosemund would like.

Rosemund's on a Ring of Protection +2 at the moment. She might as well take the +3 if no one else wants it (and the +2 can get lootpiled).

She's also willing to try chugging the potion (if only to ensure that the party member capable of reversing petrification spells doesn't get petrified) if no one else is feeling that adventurous.

She also thinks if might be fun to breathe underwater but isn't inclined to be grabby if she's already getting something else.

The ghost trio left behind the following items after their disappearance:

Cowry Shell Necklace: this string of colorful seashells, strung along a delicate golden chain, bestows the following benefits upon a wearer: spells of the Cure/Inflict Wounds series are advanced from d8s to d10s for their effects; the subject gains water breathing; and she receives a +2 competence bonus to saving throws against mind-affecting spells and effects. However, the clattering of the shells against one another imparts a simultaneous -4 circumstance penalty to Stealth checks when not underwater. Value: 40,000gp.

Hill King's Crown: it takes perhaps a provincial definition of regality to consider this crown a king's accoutrement. It's a simple circlet of beaten copper decorated with an uneven ring of black dragon's teeth jutting upward around the circumference (their size suggests it was in fact quite a young dragon they were taken from). Donning the crown provides the following benefits to the wearer: an arcane caster will see spell saving throw DCs for the school of magic of her choice enhanced by 2 (the school is set at the start of each day and cannot be changed until the next); she can speak and understand spoken (but not written) Draconic (this knowledge evaporates when the crown is removed); and she receives a +2 competence bonus to saving throws against mind-affecting spells and effects. Value: 37,000gp.

Harmonic Band: along the outside of this gleaming silver choker is inscribed the words "Unconquerable Voice" in Elven. A wearer of the band receives the following benefits: she is not subject to any silencing effect, magical or physical--even someone mute since birth would find herself able to speak any comprehended languages while wearing this; the caster level for any spells with the Sonic descriptor is enhanced by 2; and she receives a +2 competence bonus to saving throws against mind-affecting spells and effects. Value: 28,000gp.

Found in the abandoned sky castle of Alvya de Thanys, on the plane of Air:

14,326 gold coins and an unappraised pile of jewelry.

~

Diamond Essence: this spherical, faceted gem is just small enough to be swallowed whole without risk of choking. Should any living creature swallow the gem, she gains a +2 bonus to natural armor and DR 2/- for 24 hours (the former stacks with any existing natural armor bonus innate to the creature; the DR does not stack with any existing damage reduction).

At the end of 24 hours, the consumer must make a DC 22 fort save. Success indicates that the gem is successfully digested and the above bonuses become permanent. Failure indicates that the gem is violently vomited back up, with the concurrent and permanent loss of 1d6 hit points from damage to internal organs.

Value 14,500 gp.

~

Draught of Air: this potion is the distilled essence of the plane of Air itself. Drinking it will alter the imbiber's constitution to somewhat take on the appearance and nature of a cloud, conferring the following bonuses for 24 hours:

-Fly speed of 100 ft.

-Air Mastery (airborne creatures suffer a -1 penalty to attack and damage rolls against you).

-Immune to poison, sleep, paralysis, and stunning.

-Darkvision 60 ft.

-DR 5/magic.

At the end of 24 hours, the subject must pass a DC 24 will save to prevent her wispy essence from dispersing completely. Failure indicates death without recourse to resurrection spells that require access to physical remains. Success on this and a following DC 20 fort save indicate that the subject has successfully assimilated the essence of the plane. All of the above bonuses become permanent (DR is increased to DR 10/magic, immunities expand to include critical hits), her type changes to Elemental (Air), and her Dexterity is permanently enhanced by 4.

Failing the fort save alone only indicates that the subject's body has returned to its normal composition.

Value 32,000 gp.

~

Lazy Eye: this is the eyestalk of a dreaded beholder, eerily preserved in a semblance of life post separation from its original bearer. When held against the head of a living creature, the eyestalk will graft itself onto the flesh of the subject and henceforth become part of her body. This extra eye provides the subject with the benefit of all-around vision (+4 racial bonus to Perception, can no longer be flanked) and the ability 1/round to employ the effect of a beholder's Sleep ray (as per the spell, albeit a free action affecting a single target with no upper limit on HD affected, range 150 ft, CL 13th, will DC 17).

A DC 17 fort save must be passed in order for the subject's body to accept the graft. Failure incurs nausea for 1 round and automatic rejection of any future attempts to apply the eyestalk. Evil creatures get a +2 profane bonus on this save.

Successfully applying the eystalk renders the subject unable to wear hats or helmets.

Value 13,220 gp.

~

Toxic Gloves: 3/day: the next attack you make this turn with one held weapon is imbued with poison (1d6 CON initial and secondary damage, fort DC 16 negates). Value 6,000 gp.

~

Shirt of Demonskin: this patchwork collection of fiendish flesh grants DR 3/good to the wearer. Value 15,000 gp.

~

Veil of Flirtatious Prancing: this "garment" constitutes a single band of orange and crimson silk, a hand wide and about a dozen feet long. When wrapped around the body, it will seemingly take on a life of its own and flutter several inches away from the skin in a spiral pattern, forever tempting onlookers with maximally suggestive views but almost conscious in its ability to consistently avoid presenting any viewer with flagrantly indecent exposure. Despite appearing to circulate downwards around the body, the upper and lower ends of the veil in fact form an interdimensional loop so that it never truly exhausts itself. When worn, the veil grants the following benefits:

-A +4 deflection bonus to armor class.

-A +4 competence bonus to Perform: Dance checks.

-The wearer may act at all times as if she possessed the Snatch Arrows feat, even if she does not meet the prerequisites. The veil itself does the catching, negating the need to maintain a free hand.

-Once per day, as a swift action, the veil may be turned into a band of liquid flame for 1 minute. This confers fire resistance 5 upon the wearer and inflicts 1d6 fire damage upon any foe striking her with a non-reach melee attack. This fire damage increases to 2d6 per round against any opponent engaged in a grapple with the wearer.

The veil does not function if the subject wears any other piece of clothing from shoulders to legs.

Value 37,600 gp.

~

White Cloak of the Spider: this cloak confers a +2 bonus to saves vs poison, and use of the following abilities 1/day (CL 6th): Spider Climb, Hold Person. Value 4,200 gp.

~

Flesheater: 2/day: as a standard action, this scepter may be activated to summon a cloud of tiny and voracious implike apparitions upon 1 living creature within 30 ft. The subject must pass a DC 18 fort save or suffer 3d6 damage per round for 4 rounds. Value 12,000 gp.

~

An alabaster mask (unidentified).

Are the toxic gloves standard, swift or free activation? Does it have to be a held weapon, or can it be a natural attack?

Swift action to activate. And the item description specifically says held melee weapon so I'd rule natural attacks are out.

Dropped by Talkalon the tanner were the following magical items:

-The Flenser's Pal: this +2 bone dagger deals an additional 1d6 nonlethal damage on hit. Clearly designed as an instrument of torture, enemies thus damaged are subject to crippling pains and suffer a -1 circumstance penalty to attack and damage rolls so long as the nonlethal damage persists. Of special note is that a creature that would otherwise be rendered unconscious by the dagger's nonlethal damage instead remains aware and merely helpless. Value 21,302gp.

-The Spellbinding Eye: this +2 buckler has the capacity to absorb once per day a ray spell that would otherwise strike its bearer. The shield may in fact be used to absorb a second spell in one day, but this so strains the shield's capabilities that the second surge in magic shatters the shield irreparably. Value 9,165gp.

-Bracers of Armor +2 (as per SRD, value 4,000gp)

Dropped by Talkalon's tiefling assistant were the following magical items:

-Corrosive spiked chain +2 (value 18,318gp)

-Golden Dragon Mail: this +2 set of scale mail was fabricated from the hide of a noble golden dragon, and grants the wearer fire resistance 10 as well as the benefit of Evasion versus any fire spell or effect that allows a reflex save. Value 32,000, though wearing or even selling the skin of a famously virtuous beast is unlikely to reflect well upon one when interacting with the righteous.

-Cloak of Resistance +2 (as per SRD, value 4,000gp)

Found and identified in the labyrinth by Fran:

-Heartbane: +2 flaming fey bane rapier. Fey struck by this weapon must pass a DC 14 will save or be instantly incinerated (fire immunity negates this effect). Value 40,320 gp.

-Crown of the Silver Flame: +2 enhancement bonus to charisma, the following spell-like abilities (CL 15th) once per day: Searing Light (maximized), Daylight. Value 16,500 gp.

Carried by Maeandar and Opal respectively:

-Mace of Corruption: good outsiders struck by this +3 heavy mace must pass a DC 15 will save or be instantly destroyed. Value 50,312 gp.

-Impervious Vestment (as per MIC). +5 armor bonus to AC and 1/day Blade Barrier effect (centered on caster, 20 ft high, 90 ft diameter, CL 18th, ref DC 19. Wearer of the robe may pass freely through this particular barrier). Value 34,000 gp.

Found within a sarcophagus inside a floating stone head on the negative energy plane:

-16,568 gp

-A pile of gems and jewelry collectively worth 8,400 gp.

-Earthplate Armor: this is a set of +1 full plate with the following ability 1/day as a standard action: Stoneskin (CL 9th) and tremorsense 5 ft granted upon activation, duration 90 minutes. Value 41,650 gp.

-Fiendhelm: the abilities of this helmet function only for Evil creatures. Such a wearer will find that her attacks are now evil-aligned for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction, and she may use the following abilities 1/day: Dispel Good, Inflict Critical Wounds, Resist Energy (elec or fire only). CL = character level, saving throw DCs CHA-based. Value 10,000 gp.

-Gauntlets of Energy Transformation: 3/day, as a swift action, these gauntlets may be used to change the energy type of a held weapon for 1 round (I.E., a flaming weapon might function instead as a frost weapon). Value 1,000 gp.

-Ring of the Icy Soul: the wearer gains ice resistance 20, but suffers fire vulnerability. Value 18,000 gp.

-Ring of Mystic Lightning: the wearer gains a +1 competence bonus to caster level for electricity spells. The ring also has 3 charges per day: 1 may be expended for +2d6 damage on an electricity spell, 2 charges for +3d6, and 3 charges for +4d6. Value 7,500 gp.

-Yridia's Horn: this +3 shocking burst glaive was once the horn of a great blue dragon, and it yet hums and crackles with a sort of life and electricity. 1/day, as a standard action, the glaive may be used to fire a powerful bolt of electricity (14d8, 100-ft line, ref DC 27 halves damage). However, the bearer most overcome the distant drake's rage at the theft of its horn--failure of a DC 25 will save forces the bearer to cower for 1 round (failure does not expend the glaive's daily charge). Value 72,308 gp.

Deathguardian Bracers (value 6,000 gp): These enchanted bracers allow an arcane caster to exchange uncast spells for temporary protection. As an immediate action, the wearer may sacrifice a prepared spell (or uncast spell slot, for spontaneous casters) to gain DR/- equal to twice the level of the spell sacrificed until the start of her next turn. There is no limit to how often the bracers may be activated in a day, provided the wearer retains spells to sacrifice.

Title: Re: Loot thread
Post by: Sierra on July 26, 2014, 09:46:36 AM
Julia discovers the following magical items in the Carniplex storeroom and infirmary:

-Aroma of Curdled Death (value 4,500 gp): One round after applying this elixir to a person's skin, a cloud of gas is generated surrounding the individual which lasts 1 minute. During this time, any living creature coming within a 10-ft radius must pass a DC 17 fort save or suffer the effects of a Cloudkill spell for each round that they persist within that radius.

-Flesheater (value 12,000 gp): Twice per day, as a standard action, this scepter may be activated to envelop one target within 30 feet in a cloud of tiny and voracious fiendish insects. The target must pass a DC 18 fort save or take 3d6 damage per round for the next 4 rounds.

-Harrow Rod (value 14,000 gp): Three times per day, as a standard action, this rod may be activated to spew forth corrosive bile in a 30-ft cone, dealing 9d6 acid damage to all creatures therein. A DC 17 ref save halves the damage.

-Spider Rod (value 15,000 gp): Each of this rod's two abilities can be used three times per day. The wielder may: inflict poison upon an enemy via melee touch attack (1d6 CON damage initial and secondary, fort DC 16 negates); or entangle 1 target within 100 ft via ranged touch attack (on hit the target is entangled for 1 minute; ref DC 20 negates but the target still suffers halved speed for the duration of the effect).

-Strand of Acid Pearls (value 10,700 gp): Each of this chain's seven pearls can be thrown 50 feet to explode into a 20-ft radius, 20-ft high cylindrical cloud of acid. The pearls come in various sizes which deal differing amounts of damage: two for 3d6 damage each, two for 5d6 each, two for 7d6 each, and one for 9d6. Ref DC 19 halves damage in all cases.

And various chemicals:

-Potions: Cure Light Wounds x3, Neutralize Poison x2

-Decanter of Endless Water (value 9,000 gp): as per SRD.

-Elixir of Love x2 (value 150 gp each): as per SRD.

-Elixir of Truth x2 (value 500 gp each): as per SRD.

-Eversmoking Bottle (value 5,400 gp): as per SRD.

-Stone Salve (value 4,000 gp): as per SRD.

-Unguent of Timelessness (value 300 gp): As per SRD, albeit this extra-large bottle contains enough substance to treat one large creature or two medium creatures.

-Carried by the skeletal demon priestess:

Heart of Stone (value 65,000 gp): This misshapen and calcified organ is in fact the petrified heart of a demon. This unusual object may be employed to serve one of three disparate functions:
-When crushed, the heart will erupt into a cloud of petrifying gas that turns all creatures within a 15-ft radius (including the destroyer of the heart) permanently into stone. Fort DC 24 negates.
-The heart may be implanted into the body of a living creature of small or medium size with success on a DC 30 Heal check. Failure on this roll means that the subject does not survive the operation, but on success the heart resumes organic function within its new host and imparts the following advantages: Toughness as a bonus feat; electricity resistance 20; DR 2/- (if the base creature already possesses DR/-, enhance the existing reduction by this amount); spell resistance 18; and a permanent +2 bonus to Constitution and Charisma.
-The heart may be implanted into the body of an undead creature of small or medium size which retains its fleshy anatomy. With success on a DC 25 heal check, the operation is successful; the heart may still be implanted on failure, but the subject suffers 12d6 damage from the clumsiness of the operation. If the subject remains intact after the operation, it gains the following bonuses: Great Fortitude as a bonus feat; the benefit of Unholy Toughness (bonus HP equal to Charisma bonus x HD); spell resistance 18; and a permanent +2 bonus to Strength.

Robe of Arcane Might (value 21,000 gp): This robe grants the wearer a +4 armor bonus to AC. Additionally, the wearer is granted a +1 competence bonus to caster level with enchantment spells.

Cloak of Thorns (value 26,000 gp): This cloak grants the wearer a +2 enhancement bonus to any existing natural armor bonus. Additionally, any creature striking the wearer with a natural or non-reach weapon suffers 1d4+3 piercing damage.

Ring of Force Shield (value 8,500 gp): As per SRD.

Ring of Protection +3 (value 18,000 gp): As per SRD.

-Carried by the skeletal warrior:

Destroyer (value 62,325 gp): This +3 adamantine keen falchion ignores the first 5 points of an item's hardness when striking an object. Successfully breaking an object held by another character grants the wielder a +1 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls until the end of their next turn.

Mithril Breastplate +3 (value 13,350 gp)

-Carried by the skeletal inquisitor:

Judgement (value 62,325 gp): Wielders of any lawful alignment gain a +1 morale bonus to all attack and damage rolls while using this +3 undead bane heavy repeating crossbow. Additionally, all wielders of the weapon gain a +2 sacred bonus to will saves against mind-affecting spells and effects.

Mithril Full Plate +3 (value 19,650 gp)

Runestaff of Necromancy (value 32,000 gp): This staff allows the bearer to cast the following spells (each 3/day) by sacrificing a prepared arcane spell or unused spell slot of the same level or higher:

Cause Fear (1st level)
Ghoul Touch (2nd level)
Halt Undead (3rd level)
Enervation (4th level)
Waves of Fatigue (5th level)
Circle of Death (6th level)

Runestaff of the Undead Slayer (value 37,000 gp): This staff allows the bearer to cast the following spells (each 3/day) by sacrificing a prepared arcane spell or unused spell slot of the same level or higher:

Detect Undead (1st level)
Searing Light (3rd level)
Death Ward (4th level)
Disrupting Weapon (5th level)
Undeath to Death (6th level)

-Carried by the skeletal archer:

Falling Leaves (value 62,325 gp): While carrying this +3 longbow, roll 1d6 at the start of each of your turns. On a result of 1-2 the weapon gains the flaming burst quality until the start of your next turn; on 3-4, the frost burst quality; on 5-6, the shock burst quality. Additionally, elven users gain a +1 morale bonus to all attack and damage rolls while using this bow.

Mithril Chain Shirt +3 (value 10,250 gp)

-Belongings carried by the slain vampires:

Cloak of the Salamander (value 6,000 gp): Three times per day, as an immediate action, this cloak may be activated to shroud the wearer in an aura of flame until their next turn. While the flame aura is active, attackers striking the wearer with natural or non-reach weapons suffer 1d6+7 points of fire damage.

Counterstrike Bracers (value 2,500 gp): Twice per day, in response to a failed melee attack against the wearer, these bracers may be activated as an immediate action to grant the wearer an attack of opportunity against the unsuccessful attacker. This ability functions even if the wearer has already used their allotted number of attacks of opportunity for the current round.

Gloves of Dexterity +4 (value 16,000 gp): As per SRD.

Pipes of Frenzied Revelry (value 3,100 gp): This instrument grants a performer a +5 competence bonus to Perform: Wind Instruments provided their alignment is chaotic good, neutral, chaotic neutral, or chaotic evil. Additionally, successfully passing a DC 25 Perform check subjects all living creatures within 30 ft to a Confusion spell (will DC 16 negates) for each round that the performance continues and they remain within hearing (success confers immunity for 24 hours). This effect is slightly different from an ordinary Confusion spell: should the confused victim's roll call for them to attack another creature, they are instead driven to kiss or embrace that creature.

Rod of Enervating Strike (value 18,312 gp): This +1 heavy mace has the additional effect when striking an enemy of subjecting the target to an Inflict Light Wounds spell (1d8+5 negative energy, will DC 11 halves). On a critical hit, this effect is replaced by an Inflict Serious Wounds spell (3d8+15 damage, will DC 14 halves). Both effects are empowered on a minor negative-dominant plane, and maximized on a major negative-dominant plane.

Rogue Blade (value 12,320 gp): This +1 rapier may be activated twice per day as a swift action to provide the bearer the benefit of a Blink spell for 6 rounds. This effect ends early should the wearer cease holding the weapon.

It is expected that the heroic axe knight and the traitorous captains should no longer require their equipment. It should be all on their sheets if you want to farm it out/sell it.

~

The vault in the Queen's chambers contained:

-156,387 gp

-54,250 gp worth of gems and jewelry.=

~

Carried by Sir Blevins, the Queen's protector:

-The Tree of Woe (value 42,000 gp): Upon striking with a charging attack, a wielder of this large lance +3 may impale a target of small or medium size upon the weapon with a successful CMB roll. This deals an additional 2d6 points of piercing damage, and for all practical purposes the impaled character is treated as being pinned. The subject may attempt to wriggle off the weapon on their own turn as a full-round action with a DC 23 STR or Escape Artist roll.

If an impaled subject fails to escape, the wielder of the lance may, as a standard action, generate a burst of fire from the lance which ejects the impaled character as a projectile attack (ranged attack roll at -4 penalty, range increment 30 ft, maximum range 120 ft). The character thus flung from the lance suffers 2d6 points of fire damage and is left prone, and characters successfully struck by the ranged attack suffer 2d6 bludgeoning damage. If another character of medium size or smaller is successfully struck by this ranged attack, the target is also knocked prone. Acrobatics DC 23 negates being knocked prone in either case.

-Harvester (value 75,000 gp): A wielder of this large double-bladed sword +3 who has the Whirlwind Attack feat may make two such attacks during the full-round action usually required to execute a Whirlwind Attack. All normal two-weapon fighting penalties apply to both attack rolls.

-Adamantine full plate +4 (value 32,650 gp)

-Adamantine heavy shield +4 (value 18,170 gp)

-Cloak of Resistance +4 (value 16,000 gp): As per SRD.

-Ring of Positive Protection (value 36,000 gp): The wearer of this ring is unaffected by spells that channel positive energy. Additionally, the wearer is immune to the blinding effect of positive-dominant planes, does not gain fast healing when on such a plane, nor is capable of exceeding their normal maximum HP on such a plane.

-Ring of Entropic Deflection (value 8,000 gp): At the end of any turn on which the wearer of this ring has moved at least 10 feet, they gain a 20% miss chance against ranged attacks requiring an attack roll until the start of their next turn. This miss chance increases to 50% if the ring is worn in conjunction with any magic item that provides a bonus to the wearer's speed.

-Boots of Striding and Springing (value 5,500 gp): As per SRD.

~

Auranelle's skeletal servants carried:

-1x flaming keen rapier +2 (value 32,320 gp)

-1x frost keen rapier +2 (value 32,320 gp)

-2x buckler +2 (value 4,165 gp each)

~

Auranelle herself wore the following items:

-Ring of Evasion (value 25,000 gp): As per SRD.

-Royal Aegis (minor artifact): This is the ancestral signet ring of Solata's ruling family, blessed by the gods in ages past. A wearer of the royal bloodline is granted the following benefits while wearing it: a deflection bonus to armor class equal to their charisma modifier (maximum bonus +10); heavy fortification; and immunity to mind-affecting spells and effects.

While intended to safeguard the monarch against all manner of threats, so potent is the enchantment upon this ring that even a mere commoner might derive some diluted benefit from its protective aura. A bearer not of royal blood receives the following benefits while wearing it: a deflection bonus to armor class equal to half their charisma modifier (maximum bonus +5); light fortification; and a +2 sacred bonus to will saves against mind-affecting spells and effects. However, the gods frown upon those trying to usurp royal privileges--a non-royal wearer must pass a DC 30 will save or be paralyzed by divine indignation until the ring is physically removed from her possession. The consequences of success or failure at this save apply to all of an individual's future attempts to don the ring.

The significance of this object exceeds monetary valuation.

-Apotheosis (value 85,000 gp): This enchanted crown confers various effects and abilities upon the wearer dependant upon her alignment:

Lawful Good: The crown radiates an air of authority menacing to those intending to do harm to its bearer. Even if the wearer of the crown is unaware of her assailant's presence, enemies attempting to attack or cast a spell upon the wearer (even an area of effect or multi-target spell simply encompassing her location) must pass a DC 25 will save or be cowed by a crippling aversion to any violent action against her (this is a mind-affecting fear effect). This roll must be made each round of attempted hostilies until successful. Afflicted characters are also dazzled for 1 round, but may still act normally and take hostile action against any other creature they wish.

Neutral Good: The wearer is fundamentally immovable. She is immune to all magical attempts to teleport her from one place to another or relocate her to another plane of existence against her will, up to and including spells to dismiss or banish her to her plane of origin. Additionally, she benefits from acid/cold/electric/fire/sonic resistance 10.

Chaotic Good: As a swift action, the user may teleport without error up to 60 feet from her present location. Doing so generates a burst of divine energy in her wake: all enemies within 10 feet of her point of departure must pass a DC 25 fort save or be stunned for 1 round. This ability is usable a number of times per day equal to the wearer's charisma modifier.

Lawful Neutral: The crown radiates an air of authority menacing to those intending to do harm to its bearer. Afflicted characters are also shaken for 1 round, but may still act normally and take hostile action against any other creature they wish.

Neutral: The wearer is fundamentally immovable. She is immune to all magical attempts to teleport her from one place to another or relocate her to another plane of existence against her will, up to and including spells to dismiss or banish her to her plane of origin. Additionally, she benefits from a +5 dodge bonus to CMD (like all dodge bonuses, this does not apply while flat-footed).

Chaotic Neutral: As a swift action, the user may teleport without error up to 60 feet from her present location. Doing so generates a burst of chaotic energy in her wake: all enemies within 10 feet of her point of departure must pass a DC 25 will save or be confused for 1 round. This ability is usable a number of times per day equal to the wearer's charisma bonus.

Lawful Evil: The crown radiates an air of authority menacing to those intending to do harm to its bearer. Afflicted characters are also sickened for 1 round, but may still act normally and take hostile action against any other creature they wish.

Neutral Evil: The wearer is fundamentally immovable. She is immune to all magical attempts to teleport her from one place to another or relocate her to another plane of existence against her will, up to and including spells to dismiss or banish her to her plane of origin. Additionally, she is immune to all magical or psionic attempts to discern her thoughts or alignment.

Chaotic Evil: As a swift action, the user may teleport without error up to 60 feet from her present location. Doing so generates a burst of profane energy in her wake: all enemies within 10 feet of her point of departure must pass a DC 25 fort save or be nauseated for 1 round. This ability is usable a number of times per day equal to the wearer's charisma bonus.

We have accumulated an awful lot of loot and to be perfectly honest my Bag of Holding surely can't be carrying this much.

So it's a good thing we found a magic boat!

I've tagged items with what people who what took them. Surprisingly few. Let me know if something was missed.

I added those with approximate values. They're a little lower since I don't know the exact cost of a greataxe (and it's trivial anyway.)

It's good to be the Queen.

Precise values for the minion gear:

2x Full Plate +1: 2,650 each (5,300 gp total)
2x Full Plate +2: 5,650 gp each (11,300 total)
2x Greataxe +1: 2,320 gp each (4,640 gp total)
2x Spiked Chain +2: 8,325 gp each (16,650 gp total)
2x 20 STR Composite Longbow +2: 8,900 gp each (17,800 gp total)

For the rest of the crew killed upstairs rather than converted:

4x Full Plate +1: 2,650 each (10,600 gp total)
2x Ranseur +1: 2,310 gp each (4,620 gp total)
2x Greatsword +1: 2,350 gp each (4,650 gp total)

~

As for your companions:

-Rosey could benefit from both the mithril breastplate +3 and adamantine heavy shield +4. She also has nothing in the gloves slot right now so might take the Gloves of Dexterity if there are no counter claims (being Rosey, she'll yield to any other claimants).

-Marina could use the spare Ring of Protection +3 (and will happily toss her current +2 onto the community loot pile in exchange). The Ring of Mystic Lightning is of some use to her and probably not to anyone else. I also actually had her claim the Strand of Acid Pearls for whenever she ran out of offensive spells (and then promptly forgot she had it when this happened during the last fight).

-Alice doesn't care about any of these material possessions.

-Istradi's already taken plenty (not that this'll stop her from claiming more given opportunity).

What does Alice care about? Feel free to post in cryptic symbols.

Maybe chuck one more mid-tier item at Istradi. We did give her a bunch of cool gear already, but this is a hell of a payday.

And yeah, if Alice wants something she can have it, whether it's a piece of loot, a donation to her favourite charity, or being mentioned in our prayers.

Istradi might want that adamant full plate for all we know.

I guess we should ask if she wants us to drop her off on any particular plane...
Title: Re: Loot thread
Post by: Sierra on September 03, 2014, 05:22:26 PM
She'd actually like the +4 plate over what she has, yes. (Whether this entitles her to keep the stone armor is up to you.)

Any plane where someone accustomed to killing people for a living could get her career back in order would be satisfactory. You might already be on one!

I'm fine with her taking that armour, then, we'll hang on to the earthplate. If she has any other interest, she can bring it up.

That sorted, I'm fine with giving her 10k spending cash and am willing to drop her off on whatever plane she wishes. Azure has a lot going on so she might drop herself off here, yeah.

You know what that comes out to?

1,531,520gp.

So we can split that whichever way we end up deciding. I figure PCs + Rosie/Marina get full shares. Alice is ambiguous but may want a full share for her favourite charity. Istradi has probably used up her share with her wicked gear hoarding.

If we do a straight split that gives everyone 218,788gp. Plus some silver that will vanish as a sacrifice to the god of rounding.

And to see what everyones claims in items come to, which will have to be subtracted off their monetary share...

Istradi: 131,458 in items. +5000 if we figure in her rezzing. Dunno if we want to short shrift her on the rest.
Rosemund: 47,520 in items.
Marina: 36,200 in items.
Julia: 133,000 in items. Necromancing' ain't easy.
Fran: 85,000 in items.
Steph: 41,000 in items.

So none of us are going to be hurting for walking around money. I think Julia had a +2 ring or amulet that she lost in the shuffle somewhere, but with this much money I don't care enough to look. It can be an additional sacrifice to the god of rounding.

Marina kept her +2 ring till the end before offering it up as a sacrifice to the party, so that's an extra 8,000gp to be split amongst everyone, or everyone minus Istradi/Alice.

Eb, did you halve the cost of items to get the actual GP value we'll be selling them for?
Title: Re: Loot thread
Post by: Ebiris on September 26, 2014, 01:26:41 PM
I did not!

Easy fix. We have 235,605 in cash/trade goods.

So 1,531,520 - 235,605 = 1,295,915
Halve that for resale value of 647,257 and change. Add on our 235,605 of trade goods.
Leaves us with a total of 883,562gp

Split 7 ways comes to 126,233gp.
Notably that's less than the item claims of two people... except the claims are half the value as well!

Comes out to:
Istradi: 65,729 in items. +5000 if we figure in her rezzing. Dunno if we want to short shrift her on the rest.
Rosemund: 23,760 in items.
Marina: 18,100 in items.
Julia: 66,500 in items. Necromancing' ain't easy.
Fran: 42,500 in items.
Steph: 20,500 in items.

Still, still a lot of money!

I probably should've noticed earlier that that unclaimed Cloak of Resistance +3 is a notch above Rosey's current one. So she could take that and toss her +2 (value 4,000 gp) onto the loot pile for resale.

Her old armor and shield might as well also get sold: 8,350 gp for the armor and 5,170 gp for the shield.

Oh, if we have time for it Julia would still like to grab that statue of evil Auranelle from the church to take home. Figure out a way to get Bedford to carry it.

You can surely just tie it to him and have him drag it out next time you're there. Skeletons are nothing if not persistent.

Having a giant statue of your naked martyred queen in your house will no doubt prove a great conversation starter.

Rosie gets the +3 cloak for 4,500 making her total gear allowance 28,260 and giving her 97,973gp.

Selling her other stuff comes to 8,760 unless it was already halved for resale value. She can keep that or split it with whoever she chooses.

Rosey will donate the proceeds of her sold personal gear to the church. It might actually save a few lives!

Hey, Cid, is there a hard Caster Level limit on what we can buy locally? Like if we want to buy high-CL wands or staves or just items that require really strong mages to forge.

It presently escapes me the highest CL item that's been bought locally in the past, so I'm going to say that up to CL 12 can be ordered from the fanciest wizards in the capital.

Before leaving for Hell, Rosey drops the gross national product of a small country on upgrading her existing equipment to mostly +5. She also adds silver to her mace, buys some extra diamonds, and subs in a Ring of Mind Shielding for that healing something or other ring of hers that I never remember she has.

She's not interested in leaving anything to chance here.

When we're back at the evil temple Julia would like to ask if any of the clergy there could sell her an unholy symbol (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/destruction.htm) which she will proceed to deface with all sorts of blasphemous stuff (once out of their sight).

edit: which should cost 25gp

edit x2: actually it's 500gp. Writing blasphemies is expensive.
