Title: Attendance Issues
Post by: Yuthirin on September 18, 2010, 02:56:36 AM
So I'm making a new thread, this one for issues of attendance.

Namely, this is because I may have to either cut short my time on Sunday by a great deal, or not attend at all. :(

I won't know which is which until tomorrow.

Sucky. On the plus side we did just finish the encounter, so if you're absent Miranda can just be quiet/distracted without it incurring lethal consequences. Do you want anyone to NPC her if you guys end up in another situation or just have her removed from the scene on some sort of pretext?

I talked my way out of it! :D

I'll be able to game on time and full length.

Due to issues with Cor having to play from work, we'll be starting the session an hour later on every Sunday in October except from the 31st when we'll go back to the current time. We'll most likely stop about the same time as we have before now (which ran long anyway).

I am unable to attend tomorrow, due to the fact that is my birthday, and my family demands my attention. I apologize.

I have tickets to a Bears game this Sunday. Provided that the group makes it out alive, I would prefer Miranda gets plenty of bedrest. Of course, I'm unconscious so...yeah. anywho, I'll be on a train during game time.

I may not be able to make it this weekend. Can't confirm yet either way, but warning just in case.

Edit: Confirming now, I'm gonna be absent.

Cor and Rat have both expressed interest in moving this game to Saturdays. Is this do-able for Merc and Yuth? If so, what times are people free?

I'm good either way, but it sounds like it'd be a lot more convenient for those two so I thought I'd toss this out.

I don't mind saturdays at the same time we have now.

Saturdays I can't do. I have work for nearly all of the time that we would have game.

Yeah, I dunno what the hell's going on. I can't even get in with my laptop via phone tether. Everything else works but this apparently. Says it's unable to resolve the server.

Try connecting to a specific server instead of the default lunarnet one. I'm currently on castleheck.tx.us.lunarnet.org

Due to commitment shuffling, I may have to miss the session on the 20th.
Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Carthrat on February 10, 2011, 02:55:46 AM
So things got worse! I'll probably not miss the 20th session after all, but in March I may need to drop from the game altogether. Work and uni schedules are combining to make staying up late to play GF basically impossible, since I need to do a shift on Mondays now and that means I need sleep on Sunday.
Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Ebiris on February 10, 2011, 01:50:29 PM
I'm going to revisit the question of whether switching to Saturday is feasible or not. Rat's one of the most active players in the game, so losing him would suck a lot of life out of things, and make me less inclined to bother at all.

Yuth, last time this came up you were the only one who had issues with Saturday during the time we usually game. Is there any other time on Saturday that might work for you, like starting earlier?
Title: Re: AtI still have work on Saturday mornings heretendance Issues

I still have work on Saturday Mornings here, at 9am CST to 12pm CST.
Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Ebiris on February 19, 2011, 08:22:15 PM
Yuth has graciously offered to take a break from the game until he can make Saturday sessions (which he figures will be in approx 2 months) so that we don't have to go Ratless. Therefore we'll be moving to Saturday after tomorrow's session (so next after will be on the 26th rather than the 27th). I'll tentatively set our start time for 3pm GMT (half an hour earlier) but if folks would prefer/can make an earlier time post here and we'll see.
Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Carthrat on February 19, 2011, 08:34:06 PM
I'm kinda really grateful for this, since I really didn't wanna drop GF. Thanks, Yuth~

I can start like eight hours earlier and anything in between, and obviously want to.

Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Merc on February 19, 2011, 08:50:36 PM
half an hour earlier is perfectly fine with me as is saturday in general.

I could do earlier if needed, like 1-2 hours, it's just getting fairly early in the morning for me so I might not be entirely conscious for much earlier start times.

Right, we'll aim for 2pm GMT on Saturday as our time from now on to give Rat some extra sleep (hour and a half before previous time, a day earlier)

Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Ebiris on May 18, 2011, 03:45:52 PM
We're not going to have a session this coming Saturday (the 21st), but I'll try to get a push on the personal stuff you guys all want to do via PbP over the weekend.
Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Ebiris on May 26, 2011, 01:42:55 PM
I'm going up town on this coming Saturday (the 28th) which would force us to cut the session short, but between my lack of prep and the necessity of doing the PbP stuff I've been putting off we'll just call it a wash and cancel entirely.
Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Corwin on May 27, 2011, 09:28:47 AM
Up to you and your feelings of readiness/time constraints, naturally, but if some pbp stuff needs to happen why not run that in irc during normal gaming time? We can rely on Hatbot to decide what you do if there are worries over fairness or whichever and just see how much we'll have time to cover. Thoughts?

I'll have to leave early next week, not sure by how much just yet (will edit once I know). I should be around for the first hour at the very least.

Edit: Yeah, looks like only 1-1.5 hours of playtime for me.

Post by: Ebiris on July 15, 2011, 01:41:16 PM
Since we're Ratless tomorrow and the subject is a visit to his country's embassy, I'm inclined to either run a quick random encounter in Shadowshore as the other three go to pick up the potion from Rabbani's, or just skip it altogether. If anyone else wants to take a day off, we might as well just do that.

Title: Re: Attendance Issues
Post by: Merc on July 30, 2011, 12:37:49 PM
I'm gonna drop from the game.

Waking up early really, really doesn't agree with me and I'm half asleep through half the session to focus enough to actively participate when it's anything other than a fight or fairly simple tasks, and the second half of the session when I'm finally awake, has so much having happened that I usually feel weird interjecting at that point or I'm a bit lost because of my lack of focus in the first half.

It doesn't help either that I've never really quite clicked with the character enough to really do very much with him, but primarily it's the waking up part that's a pain for me, otherwise I'd have just asked to reroll something new and try again. I'd been thinking about it a bit lately, but today really cemented it since I pretty much gave one line and then nothing else but try to keep up with what was going on as I woke up. Political intrigue combined with morning wake-ups just doesn't work.

So basically, even if I do like the game and it's setting, I'd rather just drop from the game and stick to reading logs when I'm awake and can enjoy them, instead of a half-assed participation and unfocused attention.

Not like Glenn will really be missed, he's already pretty much glossed over, so it can't be too hard to write him out. Or just have him blown up in an accident in the alchemist guild or just fade into the background in Vanderboren's employ.

Familynabbed tomorrow morning. Argh at plans being made without me.

Given we missed a session a couple weeks ago and will miss another when I'm out of town in two weeks (and holidays are right around the corner), people can go ahead and run without me if they want to avoid momentum crashing.

Shame about that, Cid. I dunno about running with just two PCs, but we could just do something random and fluffy in the capital with Rudy and Henri. If you two have stuff you want to do, say so!

People are now suggesting to me that they will cancel if it snows tomorrow as the forecast suggests it might. Blargh. I should know one way or the other fairly early in the morning, though. Hopefully not too much trouble to ask people to be in existence around MV time just in case?

Looks like I will be here for gaming tomorrow.

I expect to be around new year's eve, assuming everyone else is. If somebody's going to be out for festivities that day, I have December 30th and January 2nd off work, if rescheduling is a possibility.

So I need to schedule a vet visit for the Hobocat (due for a tooth cleaning). They always ask for a morning drop-off time, which means Saturday morning because ffff work hours. I won't miss a session because of this, but I am likely to be an hour late. So I figured, to minimize inconvenience here, I'd ask if anyone expects there to be a missed session due to being out any Saturdays in March. If so, I'll just try and get an appointment the same day.

Well the time they usually have available is like exactly our start time. But I guess I'll just grab sometime in late March and maybe they'll match up.

EDIT: March 24th, for future reference. The Cid can expected to be somewhere around an hour late that morning.

We should probably be starting at the actual start time? It's like 11pm for me as is right now, but lately we've been starting around midnight. I'd be more into things if I was more awake! You want me to be more into things, right? Right? >_>

I try, but I can't promise more than that. I normally sleep heavily on Saturdays to recover my sleep debt from the week, and the cold weather only makes getting up when my alarm goes off even harder. I'll try harder, for whatever that's worth.
