<Kotono> It takes some time, but Kevamros manages to make a crude knife. It'll do the job, alright, even if it's no masterpiece. OOC: Mechanically it's a dagger, but with a -1 penalty ot hit if used in battle.

[22:08] <Kotono> Since we're winding down, are any of you going to do anything with the various treasures you've racked up in loot yet?
[22:09] <Luther> I want to look at the scroll from the hidden cache and find out what it is. And have Kev use his many knowledge to (hopefully) decipher the contents of the bottle.
[22:09] <Luther> We can't really sell the loot and buy new loot, so not much more we can do besides keep carrying it

Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Yuthirin on May 21, 2015, 02:14:46 PM
I'd like to claim the greatsword. I'd also like to strongly suggest that we keep anything that could be of use to us. Coins and trinkets can be sold, but we're fighting for our lives here and anything could be a boon.

I vote we sell all the flavor items and trinkets, divvy all the useful gear up into the party as a pool, then sell the gear nobody wants. Then, we divide that up amongst ourselves.

Also, in the interest of fairness, if we die a non-totally destructive death, our gear is willed to the rest of the party so they can recoup any past losses.

ALSO: No PKing 4 lootz, because this is not a Munchkin game.

I wouldn't mind the Bracers of Archery, Cloak of Resistance, or Sleep Arrow. No interest in anything else.

As for selling and buying,  have a some-what amusing and gimicky idea that will hopefully save my life and let me apply healing better/faster.

Blunt/soft tip spell-storing arrows. I can load them with heals and shoot them at Luther and Rhayser. This will keep me from having to wade into a melee fight with a dragon and be nose to nose with it.

50x Spellstoring Blunt arrows would be 2302.5 gp.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Yuthirin on May 21, 2015, 03:17:39 PM
That will also let Kev take out his aggression on us (Rhayser) for stupidly wading into melee with something unbelievably dangerous.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Anastasia on May 21, 2015, 03:19:52 PM
To be clear since Yuth brought it up: You don't want the +3 armor, Iddy?
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Merc on May 21, 2015, 03:23:04 PM
The bag of holding is about the only thing that interests me. Might be better if Rhayser carries it for keeping loot anyway since he has more strength. I'd have to check but I'd likely end up encumbranced.

Other than that, selling loot and buying my own gear seems the way forward if anything.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Anastasia on May 21, 2015, 03:23:46 PM
Noted, Merc. Go ahead and decide on the bag and we'll get to loot splitting.

I'll pass on the bag. I have a haversack, and the big strong mule really should carry the loot.

To be clear since Yuth brought it up: You don't want the +3 armor, Iddy?

Oh, yes. Didn't even notice it.

On that same note, is everyone cool with me snagging those things? The armor, bracers, and cloak? And then buying them arrows?

I ask because that becomes a bit disproportionate value compared to Yuth and Merc.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Yuthirin on May 21, 2015, 08:36:50 PM
Survival is eminently more important than the accumulation of piles of shiny stuff.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Yuthirin on May 22, 2015, 05:09:20 PM
So, to recap:

We have two methods of loot division before us.

Method 1: Standard Balmuria Loot. Deductions for items taken.

Method 2: Non-Standard Survival-Priority Loot. Items are claimed based on need and survivability/damage upgrades. The remaining loot is sold. This pool is then divided evenly between the party. This method is less fair, but also more likely to increase survivability as it allows for more immediate upgrades and no loot-debt.

Cast your vote for whichever method you prefer. I'm voting option 2.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Anastasia on May 22, 2015, 05:35:27 PM
Method 3: Slaad Rules. Roll 1d100. Highest result gets to choose what happens to all the loot.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Yuthirin on May 22, 2015, 07:16:15 PM
Or that. Let's not do that though.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Merc on May 22, 2015, 08:18:08 PM
Option 4:
Kevamros sells his current Mithral Chain Shirt for 550 gp (half-price value)
We sell the scroll and potion for 712.5 gp (half-price value)
We sell all the other goods (http://www.soulriders.net/forum/index.php/topic,103435.msg1057173.html#msg1057173) (minus the book) for 10,267.03gp (trade goods, full value)

Total sold loot value = 11,529.53 gp

Kevamros gets
- Mithral chain shirt+3: 10,100 gp
- Cloak: Cloak of resistance+2: 4,000 gp
- Bracers of archery, lesser: 5,000 gp
- A single arrow: Sleep Arrow+3: 770 gp
- Take 2302.5 gp to buy 50x Spellstoring Blunt arrows. (Are you -sure- on that cost? It seems low)

Rhayser gets
- Large greatsword+1, icy burst: 18,000 gp
- Bag of holding, type 2: 5,000 gp (Note: Luther will claim ownership of this, but has Rhayser lug it around)
- Take 3227.03 gp to do whatever

Luther gets
- Book on Limbo Personalities (500gp). He wants at least something for his trouble. He will also read it, hopefully there will be a hint to surviving if there is an entry on the slaad and the letter is another invitation.
- Take 6000 gp to add +1 & Called to armor, +1 to shield, and ring of protection+1

***

Luther votes for Option 4 (with the addendum that Rhayser gets the money share that would go to Kevamros if the spellstoring blunt arrows are underpriced, which I think they are).
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Merc on May 22, 2015, 08:52:40 PM
Iddy forgot to account for the +1 needed to add a special property to a weapon. So the arrows would be 8302.5gp.

I'd say give him a wand of cure light wounds (or cure moderate wounds, up to Rhayser/Kevamros if they agree with the option), and then any money left goes to Rhayser.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!
Post by: Iron Dragoon on May 22, 2015, 08:54:17 PM
I think the #4 option with the wand mod would be the better option.
Title: Re: Loot thread: TREASURE AHEAD!

I was either gonna buy him a wand of CLW or an amulet of health for myself. Either works.

Okay, then in summary:
Kevamros sells his current Mithral Chain Shirt for 550 gp (half-price value)
We sell the scroll and potion for 712.5 gp (half-price value)
We sell all the other goods (minus the book) for 10,267.03gp (trade goods, full value)

Total sold loot value = 11,529.53 gp

Kevamros gets
- Mithral chain shirt+3: 10,100 gp
- Cloak: Cloak of resistance+2: 4,000 gp
- Bracers of archery, lesser: 5,000 gp
- A single arrow: Sleep Arrow+3: 770 gp
- Take 750 gp to buy a wand of CLW

Rhayser gets
- Large greatsword+1, icy burst: 18,000 gp
- Bag of holding, type 2: 5,000 gp (Note: Luther will claim ownership of this, but has Rhayser lug it around)
- Take 4000 gp to buy an Amulet of Health +2
- Take 779.53 gp to carry in the bag of holding for later on, or spend on something else (a second wand of CLW?)

Lots of big gold coins!
Golden medallions!
Red gems!
Blue gems!
Green gems!
Carved ivory beltbuckles!
A wrapped scroll!
Another wrapped scroll!

Slaad is chaos. Clothing could have been the best thing in the dungeon and we'd have never known.

Rule of thumb: TAKE EVERYTHING NOT NAILED DOWN. IF NAILED DOWN, TRY TO PRY IT UP.
