Title: Anime to Buy
Post by: Olvelsper on April 05, 2007, 02:07:32 AM
A shocking question for all of you, but do you know any good places to buy anime? I'm looking to buy Mai-Hime, Jubei 2, and Godannar, but I don't know which places are good.

Except for about 5 series in my anime collection, I've bought all of mine at Rightstuf, and will probably continue to do so unless I see a worthwhile sale in some other store.

Rightstuf has a lot of regular sales. I bought Jubei 2 dvds at $4 a dvd for example (although they're not on sale anymore at that price).

They do have all the series you're looking for, however. If you're not in a hurry, I would recommend waiting for a sale offering making your series available.

edit: aaaaaand I forgot the website even though it's fairly easy to google up: www.rightstuf.com

I'll second Merc. I've had nothing but good purchases from them.

Goddanar is licensed by ADV, right? They have some nice sells on their site when you can catch them.

Mostly I wait for the stuff to come out at Animax (my local anime shop), best buy (usually pretty cheap), or just use Amazon to pick up used copies of stuff (I haven't had a single problem with amazon, ever).

If you know who holds the licenses you should at least check out their pages.

The licensor's websites do occassionally have good sale, so that's an option for you.

Animenation is also having an ADV sale currently I just noticed, so you can get Godannar from there: http://www.animenation.com/advsale.html

So that's yet another possibility!

Thirding the nod for Rightstuf. Started ordering from them a while back because an RPGDL poster worked for 'em, kept it up on account of not having any problems with them so far.

As for your specific purchases, personally I'm waiting for there to be a box set of Mai-Hime before buying it.

I'm going to have to agree with the Rightstuf crowd. I usually get my anime from there, however sometimes I go through Amazon.com to see if they have slightly better prices.
