Title: Magic items and such.

Well, since no one has started one, this is the who gets what magical item topic.

I'll repeat what I suggested on line.  We roll for it - high roll gets first pick, etc.  That way every PC has one item.

Then we roll again with the new high roll getting the 6th item.

I'm fine with whatever solution the party  decides.  :) Just don't fight too fiercely over it.

Since we're missing it, just putting a list of all the loot so far. Included a bit of info on some of the stuff also, since there's apparently no appraisal skill in 4e, and magic items can be figured out just by handling them for a while, at least the simple ones.

-1 Unknown Treasure? (I'm guessing this was looted back by the navy?)

-Plenty of food/water for 2 months
-basic repair supplies

-1070 gp
-9 healing potions (Market Price 50g each, regain 10hp)
-1 bag of holding (Market Price 1000g, can hold up to 200lbs in items, but only weights 1lb)
-1 minor ironskin belt (Market Price 1000g, assuming it's the level 5 one, gain resist 5 damage to all weapon damage until end of next turn as a daily power)
-1 minor safewing amulet (Market Price 680g, assuming it's the level 3 one, reduce falling distance by 10 ft for purpose of damage and always land on feet)
-1 acrobatic boots (Market Price 520g, +1 Acrobitics, stand from prone as a minor action)

Since there's no skill to appraise stuff, I'm just gonna assume that as pirates, we have a fine eye for loot and can estimate it's general value, unless Drac posts to the contrary.

Assuming this is the case, I say we just have people post interest in stuff, and if they're interested, they can 'buy' it for half-price. Thus someone who gets a magic item gets less of the gold accordingly. If more than one person is interested in something, they can 'bid' on it by giving up more of their gold.

In true pirate fashion, we will then try to bluff people into 'bidding' more even when we don't want something, so we can get a bigger share of the gold.

The unknown treasure was handed to your captain and has since been absconded with by the Valauns.

My policy on item sales will vary based on the market you are in.  Right now, you can get estimates on anything and indeed, they will buy it for 60 percent of market value as this is a thriving marketplace and most of your goods are unused.  Good for selling, should you hate it.

Notably, as pirates, it may be long intervals between being able to easily sell or buy items.

Well, since this is the only loot thread we have, I'll put this in here.

Picked up a rifle, need to find out if it's a standard rifle, and if we found any ammo/gunpowder for it.

It's a standard rifle, 1 flask of gunpowder.  :)

I'll post stats when I'm near my books.
