Title: Enlistment Procedures for the MCFD

BESM 3e will be the system of choice, which can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?gfwdtmatz2m .  220-point characters, do not buy a mecha.  Confer with me on any abilities/features/designs that would clearly be impossible from a human standpoint for now.

The following Defects are not allowed without explicit plot-related approval (They can be viable, but discuss them and the concept with me): Confined Movement, Cursed, higher ranks of Impaired Manipulation or Impaired Speech, Marked, Owned, Physical Impairment, Wanted, Weak Point.

Conditional Ownership and Red Tape are presumed to already be in effect.

Achilles Heel, Awkward Size, Bane, Involunatary Change, and Vulnerability in particular are not allowed.

Houserules to be noted:

You can only get the benefit of Extra Actions and Extra Defenses in-mecha when both you and the mecha have it--only to the lesser number of ranks.

For Massive Damage: Targeted is not a normally allowed variant.  For Focused, select a type from the following: Piercing, Impact, Explosive, or Energy

For Melee Attack: Same restrictions on Targeted apply.  Select a single weapon type for such, such as 'pile bunkers' or 'heat blades' if using the weapon-type variant.

Melee Defense: Highly restricted.  Ask me before taking this.

Ranged Attack: Vehicle-type variant disallowed.  Targeted restrictions apply.  When picking a class for mecha weapons, may select Piercing, Impact, Explosive, or Energy.

Ranged Defense: Highly restricted.  Ask me before taking this.

BACKGROUND
==========
Pending, but as I'd mentioned, I wanted to play a Gai Daigoji type character, the oddball who fights as if he were in a super robot genre, when it's not appropriate. Lacks common sense, but has skill/luck that lets him survive the day. I didn't really use defect points for anything, instead I put them into Unknown Power just for gaming progression stuff, and to sort of give that 'luck' aspect some play besides the rerolls from divine relationship. But if you'd rather I used up the points myself, I'd probably put them in a melee combat attack rank 2, and give up the marked defect (which I'd probably be iffy about allowing as a GM myself, but it gives an excuse for a character to wear shades in a military setting! Heterochromia eyes can be kinda distracting if the eyes are really odd combination of colors).

Overall, preliminary, just playing around with the chargen, and letting Nama get a good idea of a character built with 220 points (and seeing what I can get away with).
