Title: Intro to GMing, -101
Post by: Iron Dragoon on June 29, 2010, 12:56:51 AM
Alright, I'm bored, I'm in Iraq, and I've got nothin' but time. I'm looking to run a small intro game.

Looking at D&D 3.5 or 2e.
Looking at 2-3 people. I'd like at least one to have been a DM so I have on hand help.
Likely to be a short game, likely to be fairly generic. Expect bumps and problems. I *am* willing to turn it into a full blown game later on, depending on if I'm at any good at DMing or not.

God help us all.

As for timing, I can do it pretty much any day of the week. I'm usually able to from about midnight to 5 am my time (UTC -3; Baghdad, Iraq time). I am off on Sundays, so a Saturday night - Sunday morning game might be better. I can run one anytime starting Saturday 8 Pm to Sunday noon, my time.

I'm in if I can horribly abuse 3.5e. Wizard, Cleric, Archivist, Erudite, etc. Or Binder (Tome of Magic); I've been wanting to try that out.

I'm somewhat inexperienced with D&D, but I'd like to give it a go. Those times work for me, too.

*whaps Jon* Don't do that to someone trying to get into the vibe of GMing.  That's pretty meanspirited.

Sorry. I just feel the urge for some powergaming. Though the Binder class is not particularly broken, the way Wizard is.

Heh, looking it over. I think I'm going to want to keep it to the basic stuff, since this is my first dip in. As for setting, I'm trying to figure it out. I've got some ideas already..

Translation of Iddy's time:

---

I can do (using your time), sunday 4am-9am, or your weekday times (midnight to 5 am) on wednesday and friday/saturday.

From my own time, that's:

From what I'm seeing on times, I think the best bet would be Saturday night - Sunday morning game. That'll be the most free time I have to dedicate to it.

So, Saturday 8 pm - 12 pm Sunday. Which would be Sunday 4 am - 9 am on Merc's little chart.

Any objections?
