I like to link to interesting music, but rather than dump all those YouTube links in the Post of the Day topic, I think it's better to start a sparkling new dedicated thread.
To open the new year, let's have something upbeat: Daft Punk Medley, by Pentatonix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MteSlpxCpo)
It would be great if everyone would post descriptive links (including title and artist at minimum), and not just paste YouTube addresses, so that we know what we're going to see. For those who don't, I recommend shunning.
Moving Express from Disgaea d2, by Tenpei Sato. I've been playing Disgaea d2 lately and this is the normal boss track. It's a fun and catchy little tune, plus I like the energy it has. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8jywH2H-2Q)
That descriptive enough for a link?
It's descriptive enough, but you don't need to include the additional information between the url tags along with the song name and source.
So like this: Ezio's Family, from Assassin's Creed 2 (rearranged by Jesper Kyd). (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAhPaiajwDY) Plus Assassin's Creed cosplay and parkour.
Great new thread :)
I'll add to it sometime soon :)

Have some Origa - Rise, the opener of GiTS SAC 2nd and a good tune. :)
That's a good song, but with that accent I can hardly tell which parts are sung English and which parts are in the other language when I take my eyes off the lyrics.
Here's Tell Me (Clock Opera Remix), by Au Revoir Simone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndr7jI7f26o). Anime music video "Fate Matrix" by Shin and GuntherAMVs.
Finding this video using my recollection of viewing it one time a year or so ago took about three hours of YouTube diving, since the forum I saw it on back then has vanished from the Internet. But I think it was time well spent.
It's cliche, but I suppose a mind-numbingly long late-Pink Floyd composition can't hurt things....

Equally cliche, but here is Adagio for Strings, by Samuel Barber (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRMz8fKkG2g).

Za Boxer from Simon and Garfunkel.
I've been playing a lot of Doom to unwind lately. Getaway (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZW_2X3mBWs) from Speed of Doom is an original track made for the megawad. It's a nice, energetic piece that fits the level well and is also a solid listen otherwise.
While this isn't really music, and since I already have a bad habit of posting slightly off-topic suggestions, I want to recommend a podcast. Welcome to Night Vale (http://podbay.fm/show/536258179) is a sort of Cthulian Absurdist Comedy/Horror story about a small town in the barren deserts somewhere in southwestern America.
It is a fun saga of the various town denizens, such as Old Woman Josie who was visited by Angels who helped with household chores, and is selling a lightbulb replaced by one of them, or the hooded figures that reside in the dog park that the city council has warned everyone not to look at, think about, or even know about
For what its worth the weather report each episode has some good music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2csnVNai-o
Then I shall answer that.
It's not easy having a malevolent shapeless monsters hanging over your head...
But there it is.
This is from Shoggoth on the Roof, a theatre production parody of Fiddler on the Roof, and I have no idea who wrote/performed it.

Shoggoth on the Roof
Original music composed by Jerry Bock. The lyrics for this play were written and arranged by He Who Must Not Be Named For Legal Reasons (no really). Some guy in the seventies gave the lyrics to some people with his blessing on the condition that he never be named.
If you're interested in learning more, you can do so here (http://www.cthulhulives.org/shoggoth/).
Shojo S (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO0j-2TjY84) by Scandal is good. All their music is good, really, if you like Japanese punk-rock girl bands.
I like trailer music. (Good trailer music, not the other kind.) Wakfu looks only mildly interesting (I'm kinda wary of the Gurren Lagann / videogame vibes....), but this trailer has neat music:

I'll have to look for the full tracks that this was put together from.
Also, one thing that leaps to my eye about these kinds of French projects is that the French really like them some steampunk....

I gave up trying to estimate the probable population/jobs density of this procedurally generated city. It seems like most cities have small regions of nothing but towers like this, but not a region so large that it stretches to the horizon.... even Manhattan is interspersed with fairly low-rise areas (not to mention it's a narrow constrained island).
Maybe Kowloon is like this, but again, that's a relatively constrained area.
...
Okay, at the end of the video it says the guy generated 1,700 high rise buildings in the model, which is... really whacked. Compare what this guy tells us (http://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/chat/general-chit-chat/739/toronto-has-the-most-highrise-buildings-under-construction-in-north-america-sustainable):
Quote
A quick comparison of Toronto with NYC, Chicago, and London:
NYC: 5850 buildings, 7.7 Million, 634 sq km area
T.O. : 1889 buildings, 2.72 Million, 630 sq km area
Chi : 1130 buildings, 2.69 Million, 606 sq km area
Lon: 584 buildings, 7.83 Million, 1572 sq km area
If you compare the first three cities (because of their similar land area), take a ratio of people to buildings, you discover that Toronto and NYC both have very similar ratios (1317:1 for NYC, 1439:1 for Toronto). Chicago's ratio is 2380:1. Just another way to look at how urbanized we've become.
So, this is what you get if you take _every_ single high rise building in Toronto or Chicago and smush them all into one place at Midtown Manhattan densities. Multiply by five and you get _every_ single high rise building in New York.
(As a sidenote, it always surprises me how spread out London is.)
Sorry about the statistical trivia... um... here, have some guilty pleasures (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p4B-ise1iI) or Cowboys Fringants (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5GHzWABUZA) (whatever those are)!
Imagine living in a city with such crowding. I live with a highrise in front of my window. It easily takes up 50% of my viewing arc.
Gangnam Style, cover by Pentatonix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nLLECY6m_Q).
Now imagine the opposite of that. That's what it's like.
The World God Only Knows is a kind of stupid anime with holy cow mind blowing soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZBgRDMyXzw).
Let me try to explain how weird this is.... This is kind of like... if Adventure Time got a soundtrack written by Howard Shore, let's say.
For those days when you need 8-bit nostalgia and daytime TV nostalgia in one song, have some Price is Right 8-bit theme. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Ei0s_eoaI)

Does anyone here like English dubs of Japanese songs? Nightcore?
I'm not a huge fan of the English dubs, but I've listened to more then my fair share of Nightcores.
Here's a few I like:
Strings of Infinity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW0ZofNFmV8) An actual remix instead of just a sped up song. Pretty catchy violin music.
Paper Gangsta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=535ONQFgu2M) One of my favorites.
Poison (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quzsv6ekcPQ) Actually has two different versions of the same song. You know, half the fun of Nightcores for me are the anime pics the posters use with the videos.
Bad Boy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmlCuzn_mqI) And I just found this one. Lots of base. XD
Let me know if you want more. I got lots.
I can see why you would dislike dubs, there are some terrible ones on youtube out there. But I know some really good dubbers though.

I have been listening to Big Data for the past couple weeks, pretty much the first album, though I am only going to post three of the four songs. I not only love these songs cause I like songs with tonal shifts in them somewhere, but because I love that these songs sort of cover more modern topics (internet, online dating, more internet) without sounding cheesy or forced, which is nice.
Dangerous (feat. Joywave) (http://www.playnow.pk/video/5wyujF7yI4w) is probably their most well known song, but I don't know if it made it to radio broadcast, since my car has the XM.
Big Dater (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg7TlMQLcPk) is good too. The Stroke of Return (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2Z36PnS2Pg) has pretty clever lyrics to it, so I love that.
Course, if electronic-y pop isn't your thing, you might not like it.

Clash on the Big Bridge, Final Fantasy 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC0SrHZhTHI), performed on violin by TAM.
And now for something very different: Nau Shorts, from Blue Man Group (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHl_EXK_9n0).

Yes. Indeed.
Nights on Fire, by Virtual Riot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NeVhO0Lmg4)
It rather reminds me of System Shock 2's music. Compare MedSci, by Eric Bronsus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ00mMo9w8k).
So here's another nice track. It's from Tales of Symphonia: Last Battle: Decision Arranged (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVC0EYyJcEs). It takes an already strong track and gives it the full orchestra workup.
Meridian Dance, from Secret of Mana, in an orchestral arrangment by Aether. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kkXHvb8oFw)
I adore Secret of Mana music. It was Hiroki Kikuta's finest moments.

Adoring it indeed, I've been relaxing to his Genesis album, redoing the Secret of Mana 'as people remember it'. I don't suppose I really get it, but it's nice. Hiroki Kikuta, for the composer.
That's a great album. I haven't listened to the entire Secret of Mana soundtrack in years. Flammie's theme is as fun as ever.

I was surprisingly underwhelmed. The violin didn't deliver the power the track needed.
Some agreement, though the camera work is cute.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4b1oczkr4w This is nice showmanship by the same artist. Kokiri forest.
My big complaint about the video was why she did the performance of Wily's "Castle" inside what appears to be a barn?
The Dream Within, from Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoD85v-sE3c)
I saw this movie in theaters as a teen, and I enjoyed it. Then in the years since, I've seen many people call it a giant pile of garbage. It makes me wonder if seeing it now would change my mind.
I guess it's more Dead Space-y than Final Fantasy?
It was a good movie that would have done a hell of a lot better if it hadn't been labeled Final Fantasy.
Edit: I should put some music here, too. I May Fall (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlbVgPpGz4Y&list=PLCZ1zMlAC-DvfjanCO2wF8oqMY1QbyBRF&index=9) from RWBY. Been listening to the soundtrack a lot lately.
I love the Rwby soundtrack as well. I May Fall, Wings, and Red like Roses part II are my favorite. Especially the lyrics from the last one make me shiver.
"You're not the only one who needed me I thought you understood"
"You were the one I needed and you left me and I always feared you would!"
"Would I change it if I could?"
(Together)"It doesn't matter how, the petals scatter now, every nightmare just discloses! It's your Blood that's Red like Roses!"
"And no matter what I do nothing ver takes the place of you!"
Gives me the good chills man.

The Successor, Final Fantasy 8 Piano Collection (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP2VzsKT9j8)
This was the most significant among the few songs in the Piano Collection series I could play during the years I practiced piano. Others included Aeris's Theme and To Zanarkand... the slower, technically simpler pieces, basically. But even that was a long time ago.
The RWBY Volume 2 soundtrack was released.
Don't just tell us that the soundtrack was released, foolish panda! Link us a song you like in it!
Anyhow, on the extreme other side of the energy spectrum from moody FF piano collection songs, here's a piano-violin rendition of Koi wa Chaos no Shimobe nari, performed by TAM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkgS-duFg5A). That's the opening theme song for Haiyori! Nyaruko-san W, which has... really upbeat lyrics, shall we say. (Here's the original. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhC3vUHkV_0))

Today's entry is music from a Doom megawad, Valiant. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjOnnW5E_oI&list=PLfbK4pt7rdhg4lVDKx1MXmGZYzTChLn7c&index=13) It's one of those tracks I didn't know I needed until I heard it a few times. It's strangely catchy.
Staff Roll, from Tekken Tag Tournament. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeY1DUzyQ_8)
I also found this clever Windows error-ridden version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9Y-FBOofEo) of Koi wa Chaos no Shimobe nari. (Previous post on that song. (http://www.soulriders.net/forum/index.php/topic,102981.msg1054741.html#msg1054741))
*listens today, catching up a bit* :)
Hishoku no Sora, opening theme from Shakugan no Shana (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcJmZoWZpLk) performed on acoustic guitar by Joshua Christian. (Original piece. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SohRDzCZjaY))
Birth of a God, from the FF7 OST. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVZBHTN_ZuU)
You can blame the link at the top of the page for this one.
Also, have this. It's from Valkyrie Profile. I'm fond of it for epic, shit is going down sort of things. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi_SXojGbbo)

Kung Fu Yu, by BBOSS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WzEfmdgHPk)
Not sure how to describe this except for calling it a kung fu rap. It's catchy!
Some unnamed trance music on guitar, by Stefano Bartone. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhIpJbYv4CQ)
Michael Jackson's Thriller, in chiptune, by 8 Bit Universe. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQWeJYI033Q)
Speaking of 8 bit music, here's something from NES Batman. Sunsoft was so good at chiptunes. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxgI8mbn_AA)
Anything from Undertale really.

Strike the Earth! from Shovel Knight (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIr4okXg-gI), performed on acoustic guitars by With Ether.
Since Legacy of the Void came out this month, how about some classic Protoss Theme 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTLv8Uzczno) from Starcraft.
Girl (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40LT88Yb19c) by The Internet. Not my favorite song on Ego Death but the whole album is pretty bangin'.
The Tragic Prince, from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq9zJrislSs). Piano arrangement by Domenico Alessi.
Been replaying SotN this week. Still fun, but I always feel over-leveled even without grinding or much backtracking.

Awesome effort. I don't think the song translates to piano well, but he gives it a really good try.
Being overpowered and demolishing things is part of the SotN experience.
Seconded. Nice playin' though. Just NEED MORE POWWWWER.
The Throne Room (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dydhnAi0A3E), from Stars Wars Episode IV, performed by Akademia Filmu i Telewizji.

Apotheosis, from Journey. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypNgvc6c6Cc)
This song would be even better if you could hear it while watching the level it's used in. Alas, it is impossible to find a video where the level is played to synchronize with the song correctly without skipping or repeating sections.
Since the northeast is all snow bound right now, let's have some video game snow music.
This one's from Tales of Graces (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28wNKmjaHms) and is a nice, vaguely downbeat track. It fits the area it is in very well.
Next, we have an offering from Final Fantasy Tactics. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H396tVOP1lA) This plays in when you battle in the snowy Goland Coal City.
Whispers of Satan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8YvQH7wWF0) is a Doom 2 megawad. Levels 16 through 19 take place in isolated, forgotten mountain full of snow and cold. This track always reminds me of that, gives me a feeling of being alone somewhere in winter.
My internet has been very Comcast-y for the first half of the month, so I'll try to make up for missing an update.
A Simple Life (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ar__ocfsJY)
Song for Sienna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWXJvSuUxnI), both by Brian Crain.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSTcRzpL7pQ : This is probably the wrong place, but I wanted to show this animatic of Undertale. It's Mettaton's fight with the protag.
That's still a good animatic. Kind of wish it didn't basically cut out as soon as they started rival dancing though.
Sky Chase Zone, from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rfyjpAFYCU) Performed on electric piano by Pumpkin King.
Wintergatan - Marble Machine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvUU8joBb1Q)

The Dragon Charmer, by Peter Gundry. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM29cbCx8VU)
Abyss Watchers, from Dark Souls 3. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTSosahXOik)
Artorias's fighting style lives on, and apparently got mixed with a bit of Lady Maria's.
I can't wait for this game to come out so I can not play it because I don't have a PS4.
But I've been playing some Starcraft 2! I even beat the Starcraft 1 and Brood War this year! And unlike in my teens, without power overwhelming! Except for one level (the timed one for the secret mission)!
Terran 2, from Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNbTg0Li36k&list=PL638D810B6ED1BACF)
Seriously, I'm so bad at these games you guys.
Altima, the nice body (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q0NU3lxuJk) from Final Fantasy Tactics. I didn't think much of this track as a kid, but it's grown on me these days.

Edit: the RWBY Volume 3 soundtrack is getting posted on youtube. This is my favorite so far.
Please include the name/artist, or at least a description so that it's not just a link. Them's the rules.
Sorry, Fixed.
This season's soundtrack is depressing.
Somewhat. The series itself took a darker turn but that isn't a bad thing.
Moonlit Melody, from Bloodborne. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf-sLzzPiAU)
Very...sort of...atmospherically there.
Birdsong from Stuart Rynn, used in various Doom MegaWAD levels. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaJBAt0an44) It's a nice track and strangely catchy to me. Doesn't really match the title of the song at all, but oh well.
After thinking about what song would be as far away from my previous post above, the only thing that came to mind was Blitz Off, from Final Fantasy X (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNanVnf3W3c).
Pictures at an Exhibition, by Modest Mussorgsky. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsvpFU7KY7E)

Got back from vacation. Here's Another One Bites the Dust by Queen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY0WxgSXdEE), which was played on my cruise during a show. Always classic.
Since I missed one of my bimonthly music posts, here's my pile of Undertale music:
Bonetrousle (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD0X10BsoQE&index=2&list=PLXtP4ANq7nIUpCqHtrNK_2VCJlYjFHdTD) on piano, arranged and performed by Zach Heyde.

*blows a kazoo* Yeah, why not :)
I think the animatic is really still my favorite take on that.
P.T. ambience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-EkcaqfKPU)
So for Halloween 2016, I finally did it. I finally watched an entire playthrough of P.T.
Sitting by myself at one o'clock in the morning. In total darkness.
It took me two years, but I did it.
Been on a real Valkyrie Profile OST kick. It's good stuff, right in Sakuraba's wheelhouse. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g46s4DQhT9U)
F*** This S*** I'm Out, by The Theme Song. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FjWe31S_0g) (Warning - NSFW profanity)
This seems to be an overarching sentiment around my neighborhood. I too am disappointed that the election was not won by my favored candidate, a giant meteor which would extinguish all life, but on the other hand this song would've made sense before the election as well, so I guess not much has changed regarding the country's desire for the sweet touch of oblivion.
Anyway, that's enough politics from me.

Last Internationale - Fire
Name the song and artist when linking!
Super Mario World, performed by samuraiguitarist. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2aofOi4BaM)
So last week I finally found some time to go watch Doctor Strange. It was trippy stuff, and I highly recommend watching it 3D if you haven't. Related to that, the magic finger gestures in the movie were reportedly designed by a fellow named JayFunk who does finger tutting, a form of dance using hand motions.
Here's a sample of that: Unleash Your Fingers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPddJlIqAHU), a Samsung commercial performed by JayFunk. Also a sequel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKBm9RZs_Ks) performed with Fiasko Daniels.
What Child Is This? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A3i0GATnRI) on violin and piano, by Lindsey Stirling. Merry Christmas.
Carol of the Bells from Home Alone. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kHH6LJpEbQ)
I like to listen to this once on Christmas Day. It's pretty but always leaves me feeling a bit melancholy.
Corridors of Time, from Chrono Trigger (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5vs5Rx_A5g) performed by Adriana Figueroa and Ryan Lafford.
Suddenly I realize I can't remember the last time I played a JRPG.
Oh god I hope Chrono Trigger wasn't it, because that was definitely more than a decade ago.

In somewhat chronological order, but missing the songs before, between, and after, I present my absolute favorite songs from the Hamilton musical.
My Shot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK4Wk_8PbcI)
Right Hand Man (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSZwEaYHSpc)

Lullaby of Woe, from The Witcher 3. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFUsPfuwjpw)
Don't have a specific song, but recently I've been getting hooked on Sabaton. German (I think) Metal group that sing songs about wars and glorious battle. The Whole album they have dedicated to WWII is the shit.
Irrational Exuberance. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ljsPqIfPD0)
NieR Automata - Become as Gods (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9Ku9HIumpM) and Emil Despair (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbBGWRqt7uM)
Smooth Criminal, by Michael Jackson. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_D3VFfhvs4)
I would second the music from Hamilton. Saw it last week - it was fairly incredible. Best Broadway show I've ever seen.
If you have Amazon Prime and a Echo, you can say, "Alexa, play the soundtrack from Hamilton", and there you go, since it's on Prime for free.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM7MFYoylVs <-- Something Just Like This, by The Chainsmokers & Coldplay; I have this on loop, and it's awesome.
Kingdom Hearts Groove - Performed by Tetrimino (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BhF00btCzA&list=PLqor6MS2yuuCLoO1YMhx8kk0vvU2-l283&index=13)

Not sure I like the vocals, personally.
Inspector Gadget theme song. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1-YPLp3KqA)

Save the World from Final Fantasy Legend 2. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6-sXXiBndo) It's a very simple melody but one that really works looped and is catchy.
Sound of Silence, by Simon and Garfunkel, performed on harp-guitar by Jamie Dupuis. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlzk9989dzg)
Toccata and Fugue by J.S. Bach (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPmKRtWta4E), performed on harp by Amy Turk.
Three years ago, I posted Meridian Dance from Secret of Mana, orchestrated in the Aether Essence album. Since then, that Youtube channel got copyright-struck into oblivion, apparently. Luckily, someone (else?) posted it again (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DyPwNfnzGM&t=4s), as well as the rest of the album, so here's The Sacrifice Part 3, from Seiken Densetsu 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvn9UWNmNpY).
Fixed a link issue in your post there, KLSymph. You had some tangled formatting that invalidated the first link.

Had a bit further nostalgia trip checking some of the other covers from this person: Smile Bomb (YYH), Cruel Angel's Thesis (NGE), and Anna ni Issho Datta No Ni (Gundam Seed). Hope the person does some more covers of older anime songs in the future.
I did also enjoy Odd Future (My Hero Academia) from the more newer series.
Lucky Star's OP was kind of impressive too. Even if it's not my kind of song, matching the energy of that sort of song in a translation's hard to pull off.
Yeah, she has a good voice and her stuff's produced well. It feels more professional than I'd expect for a random youtuber.
Hadn't seen her lucky star one. Neat. She's got a lot of stuff.
Yeah, this is a neat find. Hope she does well, she impressed me.
A different interpretation of Sailor Moon music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8dXOz_XZL8), by Platina Jazz.
They don't have as many anime covers as AmaLee, but they're also english (the ones with lyrics anyhow) and definitely jazz.
That's a neat idea and interesting execution there. It's not to my tastes at all but I can give credit when credit's due. Anyway, it gets away from the original composition and style too much for my tastes.
Battle 1, from Octopath Traveler. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycy5Ijwgzy0) Metal cover by FamilyJules.

Episode 60 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_OO3J7BbSg) of DBZ Abridged finally released.
And it has a fantastic cover of the song when Gohan goes SSJ2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OZ-yNdKw3o).
Kinda felt they weren't really abridging there.
They really didn't for the most part.
The characters were consistent with past episodes though, it's just the pacing was slower than you'd expect for an Abridged ep and not as filled with funny moments.
I think they wanted to keep the feel of that original episode since it was one of the more memorable moments in that series. In general, Cell Saga has been a fair bit more serious too, both in the original and in the Abridged adaptation.
I do hope they return to tossing in more comedic moments in the next episode with banter between Cell and pissed off Gohan. But overall, I still enjoyed the handling of the episode for the most part, particularly the cover song. Here's hoping it doesn't take a year for the follow-up.
Agreed, it felt like a lot of love went into that episode. Also, the next part is coming out this Friday or next, unless plans changed.

At some point, the DBZA series transformed into a humoruous redubbing. Honestly, I consider their voices for the characters to be better than most of the English voice actors from either of the DBZ dubs.

I think that you are right. I also love interesting music and this forum has helped me to reach to it. The name of the artist and the song should be on the description because the user would know whether to listen to it or not.

Into the Wider World, from Lost Ark. (https://youtu.be/ZL2pyielsSo)
Lost Ark has some amazing music.
I'm considering writing a review for the game as the honeymoon period is in its end phase for me for the game, or if I should wait to get into tier 3 content before writing it. I do have ~300 hours in the game atm and think I've seen a lot of the good, the bad and the ugly for the game by now, and don't expect tier 3 content to magically transform my opinion (then again, tier 2 absolutely did for me).
Tales of Arise - Underground Waterway (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMAk2u0JTDo)
One of the better Tales OSTs in my books.
Also, what's Lost Ark? MMO?
Yes, Lost Ark is a Korean MMORPG that was released to Western markets last month. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much music playing during most of the game, or maybe I just don't find it memorable.
Korea starts at tier 3, so...
Yeah, I guess I should correct myself and say that the background music itself is not particularly memorable for most areas, though it is appropriate for the areas usually.
Most of the good music I can think of tends to occur during in-game cinematics or instanced/dungeon events. Generally they make good use of music to hype you up on points they want you to feel hyped for.

Trails From Zero: Crossing The Iron Bridge. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3igqS1Ttlk)
Trails From Zero has some really nice music. Nothing too up tempo or powerful yet, but this is a great mood piece.
Mashup of Billie Jean, Can't Stop the Feeling, and Can't Feel My Face by PomplamooseMusic. (https://youtu.be/VHtV3N8Otcs)

Convergence Delayed, from Dead Space 2. (https://youtu.be/AwTt7mbJlmA) In general it's hard to recommend Dead Space OST tracks since they're mostly, uhh, non-melodic shall we say.
In comparing the new Dead Space remake with the original, there's a lot to like in the new version in terms of technical and gameplay improvements, but I find the changes to Challus Mercer made him more menacing on a personal level, but significantly less compelling as a thematic focal point in the context of the setting. And Terrence Kyne's character redesign seems way less interesting than what's conveyed in the older performance. Since those two were my most memorable characters in the original Dead Space (in fact, the two most memorable examples of their faction across three main-line games), this made the overall story experience fall flat going into the end of the game. I'd go as far as to say that Mercer's new final scene was really dumb and badly executed, keenly disappointing compared to the original. He deserved better, Altman be praised.
An Empty Tome, from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. (https://youtu.be/h9mfppL3Cpw) Arrangement by The Noble Demon.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Happy New Year! Also, happy ten year anniversary of this thread, two posts a month every month! And I only messed up the schedule a handful of times!
Back when I started I held off on posting Touhou and OCRemix songs since that was too easy, but I guess I might as well relax that restriction at this point, so here:
Sen no Yukari from Yonder Voice. (https://youtu.be/ZeY-VnI8DH0) Piano and vocal arrangement of Necrofantasia, from Touhou Youyoumu ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom.
Hope you all have a great 2024!
Trails Through Daybreak: Resonance Of Ray (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAu-m5JAjvA) A great track from an upcoming Trails game. Again, series is always on point with music.
Also congratulations on ten years. I just link whatever video game music catches my fancy, for what it's worth.
Guess I'll also relax my rule of avoiding repeating artists a bit more.
