Trying to poke for interest for next saturday for gaming of some sort? (Next saturday being 12/20)
Also, what times would people want to play, what games would people want to play? I've run these events typically around 8am PST / Noon EST or later in the evening around 6pm PST / 9pm EST. I'm open to other suggestions as well.
To knock some rust off, here's some game suggestions from stuff that's been played before:
"Love Letter (Princess Peach edition)": ShowHide http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/129622/love-letter
Love Letter is a quick card deduction game where you try to either knock out other people from the game round or end the round with the highest value card. This particular edition is themed with Paper Mario art.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/39856/dixit
Dixit is another card deduction game, except the cards all involve card art with various interpretations and the goal is to on your turn inspire at least one player to guess your card from a stack, but not all of the players. Simultaneously, on other turns you want to try and make people guess incorrectly, making them pick your card from all the other cards played.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/43111/chaos-old-world
War/Area Control game where you play the evil Gods from the Warhammer franchise and try to conquer or corrupt the Old World. This is a longer game than all of the other games we've played before.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/125618/libertalia
More card deduction! This one involves playing pirate cards and trying to take the booty from the other pirates!
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/70919/takenoko
A game about hungry pandas, frustrated bamboo gardeners, and growing bamboo gardens for the emperor.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/70919/takenoko
A game about traveling on a journey through Japan, and becoming the traveler with the best tale of their trip through Japan as you collect souveniers, karma for donations, eat yummy food, enjoy hot springs, meet other travelers, and see the sights.
Some new game suggestions of stuff I can probably set up a game box (any other game from Board Game Arena (http://www.boardgamearena.com) also works since those are already set-up):
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/50750/belfort
A game about building the city of Belfort and winning the king's building future contracts. Theme is medieval fantasy, with your builders being a collection of elves, dwarves and gnomes.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/102652/sentinels-multiverse
Sentinels is a Co-Op game where each player plays a super-hero, with the players all grouping to take on a single super-villain and whatever dangers might lurk in the environment.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/30549/pandemic
Pandemic is another Co-Op game, where now each player plays a scientist or some other role of a person trying to stop an epidemic from spreading, with the players all trying to stop all the cities of the world from being destroyed by deadly diseases.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/13/settlers-catan
A classic game about trading, luck, and diplomacy. If people are interested, I also have the potential of including the Cities & Knights expansion to make the game a little different and new.
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2651/power-grid
A game about corporate companies trying to create a monopoly (or at least dominate the market) in the power industry, controlling which towns receive power, and what type of power they receive (green, coal, nuclear, electric, etc)
Dead of Winter (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/150376/dead-winter-crossroads-game) (zombie survival co-op game)
Epic Resort (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/151151/epic-resort) (kickstarted game about adventuring heroes on vacation and villains trying to ruin their vacation)
Lost Legends (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/131891/lost-legends) (a 7-Wonders style game themed around an adventuring party rather than building civilizations)
I would love to, but I will be at a boardgame meet up in salem around that time.
Definitely up for some this holiday break though :)
Pass for reason that should be obvious to you.
Yeah, figured it'd be a pass for you. Hope you're doing better.
Anyway, seems like tomorrow's a bad day since nobody's really posted affirmative, so we'll try again for next week. *edits title date!*
I am on board.
Senteniels of the Multiverse sounds neat, but good for any of them.
Next Saturday works for me!
So I've now played Sentienels of the Multiverse. Would play again~ but Merc's DC variant was way more fun.
I'd also like to play Epic Resort :)
Anyhow, I'm on my laptop that isn't set up right. I don't remember what things I should grab. Any quick advice, or shall I dig through old threads?
Sentinels and Epic Resort will require the Zun Tzu program and game boxes. Zun Tzu can be downloaded from http://www.zuntzu.com/
I don't have game boxes made for either game yet (and not even scanned Epic Resort yet either). Links for those will probably not pop up until nearing game time.
Speaking of which, is there a preference for late morning or early evening from times shown above? Or some other time?
I'm down whenever :)
I've now booked saturday entirely toward boardgaming :)
The evening time would work better for me =)
I'll be around starting at noon EST in #SR-boardgames, and we'll just be gaming whenever we have enough people to game something people are interested in.
Epic Resort will probably be towards the evening if I get a chance to scan that. I've gotten some of Sentinels scanned in too.
Rock on :)
Drac and I are both in #SR-boardgames.
We are probably not playing Epic Resort today.
Sentinels is unlikely as well, but we'll see. I'm working on the game box for that, might have something for the evening.
We'll probably just see what people want to play from games that are available.
We'll be trying again at 6~ so show up in an hour :)
Drac and I continue to await for anyone~
I'm really sorry about not making it! Friends unexpectedly came over and I couldn't get on. Again I'm really sorry.
