Title: What's your favorite pizza?
Post by: Anastasia on August 25, 2015, 09:58:52 PM
<Harley> You should make a thread where everyone lists their favorite pizza toppings.

Sure, why not. List your favorite pizzas and pizza toppings here.

Well, I meant more for the NPCs of B3, but sure, why not.

I typically go for a meat lovers type pizza, or pepperoni+mushrooms+extra cheese.

General

- Pepperoni. It's good and hard to get wrong. Some places have better pepperoni than others, but it's usually up to snuff.
- Hot sausage. Not the stuff most chain places use, but real sausage with heat and flavor. You can't beat it.
- Mushrooms. Go well with other things and are generally a good add on to most pies.
- Onions. Because onions are really that good and add so much.
- Garlic. Not always needed or available, but a solid selection since garlic is the best spice there is.

Specific

Pizza Hut

That new creamy garlic parmesan. I've never been a big Pizza Hut fan, but that on a hand tossed pizza is ten times better than normal for them. The new crust flavorings are a nice touch too.

Dominos

Too salty for me usually, but they make a nice philly cheesesteak pizza. It's the sort of thing I have once or twice a year and it's great.

Local Places

One local place does a pizza with pasta and ricotta cheese. It's really good and fairly cheap, a great emergency dinner choice. Another has tiny little pepperoni that crisp up, rather than normal sized ones. Combine it with authentic hot sausage and you have an amazing pizza.

I like to go with pepperoni and mushroom typically. Sometimes I'll toss jalepeno in there.

Meats. All of them. Every time. Sometimes pineapple. Original crust. Source doesn't matter to me as long as it's decent.

Since Dune and Iddy added crust/source stuff...

I prefer hand tossed/original crust, or thin+crispy.

Not a fan of pan pizza or really big crusts. I tend to feel like they're skimping out on toppings when they give me those.

As for source, as with Iddy, I'm not that picky, though I'm not exactly a fan of Papa John's. I still order from them the most because they're amongst the few pizza places that for whatever reason are capable of taking online orders and deliver to my place. Not sure what's up with that, my place has been in Google Maps for close to a year now.

Why are y'all mentioning source instead of sauce, anyway?

Source as in who made it.

Thin crust
Extra cheese
Mushrooms (HI DUNE)
Pepperoni
Diced tomatos
If possible, some sort of Italian cheese melted onto the crust (asiago, etc)

Solid choices. I've found those pizzas are usually good, though I've never loved extra cheese. Generally, pizza has sufficient cheese.

Dang, now I want to try that sometime. The jalapenos would really add a nice kick to the pie.

pineapple.

/me shudders. You're one of THEM, aren't you?

Generally agree, with the proviso that most of my early pan pizza experience was with Pizza Hut (my Mom loves their pan pizza). I can't stand it and never really got into it past that. It always feels like you're eating greasy bread more than pizza.

I haven't been big on Papa John's in years. I used to like them, but over the past decade or so, I've felt they've gone downhill. It might be my local one, I don't know.

Yeah, Pizza Hut's doing that and while it's not the most generous layering ever, it is a nice touch.

Deep dish, extra sauce, PINEAPPLE!the one true topping, with as many veggies /fruits/'shroomss I can get on the pizza. I'm not particular about the meat so long as it isn't anchovy. Way to salty.

Pepperoni and extra cheese. Sometimes deep-dish.

The weirdest pizza I've had was a seafood pizza in Venice, which included mussels. With the shells. On the pizza. I couldn't shake the feeling I was somehow not eating that pizza correctly.

Oooh a pizza thread.

My favorite is definitely the nacho pizza I've had twice at a local pizza bar and grill whose name escapes me at the moment. Fresh veggies, loaded with chips and shredded cheddar cheese and salsa and sour cream...mmm...makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Also the pretzel pepperoni pizza thing at Little Caesar's is unbelievably good.

I once had a breakfast pizza, where the toppings included scrambled eggs and bacon bits.

My current favorite pizza to make (working at a pizza shop has its perks) is a pepperoni, bacon, meatball, red onion, and pineapple pizza on a buffalo/honey sauce mixture.

That sounds amazing. I've had a few mexican pizzas and they're all pretty good. I'd ditch the sour cream for a bit of meat, though.

On another note, I admit I don't get all the people who like pineapple or sweet things on pizza. Just doesn't do anything for me. But hey, whatever works.

For me I like the combination of sweet and spicy. Though I will say that you need to be very light on the pineapple, otherwise it ends up overwhelming everything else.

I, on the other hand, am a heavy on the pineapple guy. I just love the way pineapple tastes. Doesn't hurt that it covers a lot of the greasiness.
