Title: A dragon in the light (Surraruthru)
Post by: Anastasia on December 12, 2015, 02:27:21 PM
Good luck with your new PC, Iddy!

It is a strange thing to be saved by a force beyond anything you imagined. Even now the memories of that meeting occupy his mind. The sense of her (Her?) presence was overwhelming, blotting out the other senses. It was only for a moment, but it was enough to leave his mind awhirl and dazed. Seira's words to him were kind, offering what he needed in exchange for protecting one of her servants.

The pointers on magic that followed almost felt like an afterthought, but it helped even more. Knowledge came to him from it, further expanding his spells. Oh, how he learned in that brief time. A time over far too soon, Seira opening a portal to what seemed to be light itself.

"Find Aurora," she said, " I warded you against the Positive Energy Plane. Go forward and you'll find them."

Then into the light. A radiance of light and life that staggers the faerie dragon momentarily. It is as if you are in a purity that overwhelms all else. Light, light and more light yet. Amid this you feel a need to go forward, a gentle prod that soon fades.

Go ahead and set yourself up, Surraruthru.

*Surraruthru lets out a low, clicking growl at the blindness and discomfort, followed by a short whine that he hastily cuts off as he shakes his head and blinks his eyes clear, flying blindly forward while trying to see where he is now.*

"Aurora.. Hmm..."

He stretches his prismatic iridescent green, brown, and yellow tinged wings as he glides, eager to see this new place.

You fly through this expanse of nurturing light for a goodly time, until you see something that casts a shadow. It is a massive fortress that floats in the light void, completely covered in the plane's radiance and yet still visible for what it is. There's a gate ahead if one cares to go it, a man-shaped creature of pure wind standing just inside. His arms are crossed as his gaze sweeps about the empty expanses.

*blinks at this sight, cocking his head slightly and snaping his gaze around at the interesting points of the structure, slightly overwhelmed by the sudden thing in front of him, before homing in on the man-shaped creature, trying to identify and evaluate it before approaching.*

OOC: Knowledge check to ID it?

K:P. Roll and post results if you have ranks, otherwise just note that you don't.

It's an air elemental. Moreover, you take a good look at it. You can see angelic wings on its back, suggesting celestial heritage as well. Also, it's looking right at you - it seems to see you. It's standing firm where it is, not advancing nor opening the gate.

*decides to chance it. The Goddess Seira did say go forward and he'd find Aurora, after all. Even though she isn't *his* Goddess, she's still to be obeyed. With that decided, he flies towards the winged elemental.*

As you approach, the elemental calls out, "Who are you?" It demands in a decidedly male voice, a windy voice that howls about. "What is your business here?"

*hovers in place as he answer, puffing up as much as he can to match the demeanor of the voice.*

"I am Surraruthru! The great nightmare of the abyss! I have been sent by the Goddess Seira to take guardianship of one of your members, and aid you! *IF* I deem you worthy!"

*Feels quite pleased with himself about how his first real introductory speech went. After all, he didn't really fib. She did send him here to protect one of Her own.*

The air elemental is silent for several moments, before turning back and saying one word. "Elena." A transparent young woman appears, a dark blue color.

She takes one look at Surraruthru and hums, cocking her head to the side, "I'll talk to Adrian or Gisfal." She then vanishes away, the elemental turning back to you.

"Wait," he says.

*cocks his head at this*

"I'm not here for either of those names. I'm here for Kascha. And wait?! Who are you to impede the quest given to me by a Goddess?"

*attempts to look as offended as he should be, but it's just... not right on a Faerie Dragon...*

The air elemental does not seem amused - but soon enough a man with a silver greatsword on his back ambles on over. He gives the dragon a short look over, "Alright, I'm General Adrian Barnan of Aurora. What do you want? Who exactly do you want to protect?"

*snorts in the elemental's direction*

"Tsk. Not that for sure. As for you, direct me to Kascha. She will be my charge, as decreed by the Goddess Seira.  Do not impede me on my quest, for I have a contract with Her, and I shall bring ruin to you if you attempt so."

*looks unduly pleased with himself*

Adrian closes his eyes and sighs ever so slightly. "Do you have any proof that Seira sent you? We've recently had more problems than usual with Hell, and subversion is a concern."

> roll 1d20+30 Adrian's deploying the bullshit sensors
<Serith> Ko-NitorisUnstoppableCrusade roll for Serith < 38 > [d20=8]

He debates for a time, before finally gesturing. "Come in." The gates open at that, "Elena, don't appear. Just let Kascha know she needs to show up here soonest."

*follows Adrian in an as-stately manner as he can, keeping an eye on the elemental and giving it a toothy grin as he passes*

"Why would I need proof? Is Kascha not one of Hers? Did She not inform Kascha of my arrival?"

"We've had a really long day or so," Adrian says, "Your timing could be better. Just...stay here." He says, "Drena'll keep you company."

"Drena? Who is this and why would I want their company? I'm here for Kascha alone. As for timing, well. If you wish to express your dissatisfaction with it, you may express it to the Goddess Seira. It is by her power I was brought here. Do let me know how that works out for you when you do."

*lands with a little flutter of his wings and cocks one eye towards the ground, judging its potential for comfort before lying down with a flick of his tail to settle himself for a wait*

"I'm Drena," The air elemental interjects.

Adrian looks utterly unimpressed. He just shakes his head, going off.

Going to do anything or just wait? This requires responses in the other room, which won't happen until tomorrow.

Nah. If Drena had done something more, I might have thought about a prank or something to cause a bit of chaos, but I'm good for now.

Okay. Kascha may merge into here or this thread may merge into Afina and Jaela's, depending on how that goes there. We'll see. If you merge, I'll lock this one when that happens.

Merged into Afina and Jaela's topic. Head over there, Iddy.
