Ithea and company rushes back the way you came, returning past the split mountain.
Noise. Blur and ear-piercing buzzing, drowning out all other noise. Reality becomes a thick morass of black, dark as raven feathers and thick as jelly. You can hear murmuring. Just below the threshold for making out, rising up and down in tone. You can hear male and female voices. Everyone else seems gone, just this strange, otherworldly darkness and murmuring. The rest of your armies are gone...?
Does blindsight help at all with 'seeing' past that? And can I try to use anarch powers to create a mini sun (as in light mostly, not ball of gas, heat and gravity)?
Could you go check out the posting in smith first, Ithea?
It's just thickness, Ithea. Like something's taking up the space for blindsight. You could try with your anarch powers, certainly.

Ugh. You feel very active resistance to your efforts, something else managing to keep the proto-matter of Limbo in the current configuration instead of changing it to your whim. An opposing anarch, most likely.
"There's an opposing anarch present. Strong one too. Any recommendations on proceeding, or do we just try to force our way into that?" Ithea asks the officers with her as she gestures to the thick darkness.
"I just tried to create a giant ball of light in the middle of that and failed due to this other anarch. So first of all, if you have any spells that might provide me an advantage there, I'd appreciate it getting used."
You look back - and you don't see anyone. They're just gone, lost in the shadows.
"...fuck, its that crazy black slaad all over again," Ithea mutters before pushing forward, attempting again to force her will over the area and to overcome the opposing anarch.
Given he (she? it?) is focusing on ravens, Ithea focuses on thoughts of Sharess, of Rukkig, the slaad cat, of Snowy and any feline she can imagine. And then she imagines them clamping onto those ravens' necks and tearing. Because fuck ravens, cats eat them, dammit!

"If you're trying to prey on my fears and worries, I should warn you that nobody is as good at demoralizing me as myself. Anyone else just pisses me off and then I get meaner," Ithea calls out as she keeps focusing on those ripples, smashing against them with her image of felines. "And I'm -never- alone."

20ft behind you is a bloated figure. The corpse of a hung woman, noose still around her neck. What were once rich clothes are rotted ruins now, her flesh putrefied and dripping slowly. It stands in spite of having a snapped neck. Her head is not that of a human, but instead that of a raven. Beady red bird-eyes stare at Ithea, beak opening and closing without a sound.
Ithea arcs her head. "So, is this where we fight to see who gets to move on, servant of the Pale Night?"
Then she pauses and adds, "Or is this where you pull out an Ithea doll and ask for an autograph? Because apparently that's a thing you demons do."

It is the Hanged Raven. She (?) is using her anarch powers to control everything, you think.
The creature pauses - no change in expression, but Ithea's words seem to momentarily daunt it.
Ithea again attempts to wrest control of the landscape. And since it seemed to have an impact (or maybe it was just the attitude but it didn't hurt any), Ithea adds some roughly made catfolk dolls into her mental image of felines overpowering ravens.
If she IS affected by Ithea plushies and somehow becomes peaceful, I'm going to die of laughter. I don't see it happening, but just thinking of it amuses me.

As you have seen, the Hanged Raven is an extremely strong anarch. She has the protections typical to a demon - immunity to electricity, a host of resistances and she's also said to be immune to mind-affecting abilities. Not a lot is known about her offensive abilities, but it's noted she ends fights fast, so most suspect she has overwhelming offense or a way of quickly defeating foes.
She also has the ability to summon demons. These demons appear as half-dead horrors that are lynched and dying. Nonetheless they fight with a fanatic will and are extremely difficult to kill.
"Guess this is where we fight then," Ithea says as she fires a Polar Ray spell at the demon.
She also does one more try at the taking control of the field, but if not, she'll have to focus on melee and magic and hoping to weaken the Hanged Raven enough to beat it that way.

I forgot to mention it, but she's going for the same effect as the past few times, summoning a swarm of felines to counter the ravens. And some roughly crafted Ithea plushies. Because why not.
Ithea fires off a polar ray, but it fizzles on contact with the Hanged Raven. Instead, she focuses on her anarch powers. A storm of felines of all types gush about, countering any ravens as Ithea plushies - rough indeed but more or less like her - appear all around, including a few pelting her on the head. It's enough to momentarily stagger her, then...

You're suffocating. You can hold your breath for 2 rounds per point of Con, or 60 rounds. However, this noose is far more effective than normal and chokes 6 rounds worth of air out of you immediately. Track the air you have left in your statblock. Right now it would be 54/60.
You also made the save, this would be much worse if you hadn't.

20ft, she hasn't moved a muscle. She's just floating there like a corpse.
'Well, I guess this is why they call her the 'Hanged' Raven,' Ithea thinks, but doesn't speak, wanting to conserve the precious air.

Ithea decides to launch a melee combo empowered with arcane might to weaken her defenses to spells, taking a small step towards the demoness and slashing away with her glaive, activating her boots' haste effect as she does so, before finishing it out with a Disintegrate spell that hopefully smashes into her target.
Please note, I screwed up on attack bonus. I added an extra +1 (mentioned in chat) because I treated GMW as +5 instead of +4, forgetting weapon already has +1. However, I also forgot +5 from arcane strike. First attack correct math is shown here:

Ithea surges forward, a quick slash at the demon. She hits home, tearing into its chest. The flesh of it is far harder than steel, a struggle to cut into it at all. She manages to make a long but shallow slice into it, then rears back for another attack. But as she does, the Hanged Raven explodes. She becomes a mass of cawing crows which flee in all directions, moments later reforming 35ft away from Ithea.
Ithea is able to quickly snap off her disintegrate, but it fizzles against the reformed Hanged Raven.

Ithea thinks she used some sort of supernatural abilities. You can't really disrupt that sort of thing, unfortunately. You can't tell about holy power - she didn't react to the damage you did, which is unusual. You scored a hit, but her body didn't (or perhaps couldn't) show a reaction beyond the injury. You do think you landed a solid bow and OOC it was a crit, yes. Nothing core-like.
Yes Ithea, vampiric touch triggered.
Ithea has little recourse but to hope that her glaive's one strike weakened the Hanged Raven. Unfortunately, she can't follow up at the distance they're apart so clicking her boots to turn off the haste effect momentarily while its unneeded, she moves towards the demon.
Then after, Ithea casts another Polar Ray followed by attempting to use her anarch abilities to see if the demon's anarch abilities have weakened any. This time she focuses on her allies instead of felines, trying to guide them to her from wherever they are.

Ithea's polar ray hits home, freezing the stomach of the Hanged Raven over. Cracks lined with ice spread over her body, as if an ice carving hit just a little too hard. This time the darkness fades away, the Hanged Raven going with it. You hear gasping all around, the soldiers of your strike force taking deep, heaving breaths of air. Some of the attackers and even the nearby daemons and demons are doing the same.
You seem to have managed to force her away. The noose is gone and you can breathe freely. Free act for the moment.
Ithea looks for signs of the celestial that Tryll was in communication with (Bell was it?) after giving a quick glance at her team and making sure they're okay.
Wherever she sees a bunch of the celestial warriors, she calls out, "Jaela is breaking through, our group came back to lend a hand with the Hanged Raven! I managed to overpower her anarch abilities and drove her out for the time being! Everyone alright?"
Then glancing over to the daemons/demons, "And are we going to keep having problems?"
As she says that, she uses her Anarch powers to try and focus on the army of summoned felines, bringing them back to view hopefully.

Ithea decides to wait to let everyone catch their breath. At the first sign of killing intent or raised weapon from the demons though, she's firing a wave of fatigue and then commanding the felines to pile on them.
Sure enough, the moment all sides begin to recover, battle resumes. The silence is broken by the battle, Ithea trying to command the chaos around her.
Wis check, Ithea. Anarch times. +2 bonus.
[11:33] <Sailor_Mercury> roll d20+8+8+2 Wisdom+Anarch+random bonus
[11:33] <Penuche> Sailor_Mercury invokes Penuche's magic: < 35 > [d20=17]
It works. The battle is joined anew, but half-real felines join it as well. Ithea feels stronger in a way she can't quite describe, more capable.
Your anarch bonus has increased to +10 from +8.
Ithea continues to hammer at the evil forces with her anarch abilities while the combat continues on, doing her best to help the forces they came to assist and making the demons regret continuing their assault.
Do I need to roll for that wave of fatigue? SR check or anything?
Also, yay for anarch bonus! More plushies for everyone~
[12:00] <Sailor_Mercury> roll d20+8+10 anarch
[12:00] <Penuche> Sailor_Mercury invokes Penuche's magic: < 25 > [d20=7]
Roll SR for your wave, yes.
[12:10] <Sailor_Mercury> roll d20+27 CL to beat demons' SR
[12:10] <Penuche> Sailor_Mercury invokes Penuche's magic: < 33 > [d20=6]
Your strike force is fanning out, claiming the broken mountain and area around it. It's not too hard to claim this. One could make a line here and guard the passage in, spread out to help the other battle, withdraw or whatever else. Right now there's not a lot of fiends on you, so you could gon in various directions.
Between the choking and the various spells and anarch powers you've sent out, things are fairly fluid around you right now.
Ithea trusts in her strike force to take advantage of those gaps she could spot without needing anything said from her. Instead, she focuses on the battlefield, searching for any of the more dangerous looking and/or commander-type demons, and focusing her anarch powers on creating any sort of battlefield advantage for the celestial forces, primarily through the creation of physical obstacles and other half-real felines with a simple command to distract/obstruct those demons and aid the celestials.
[12:21] <Sailor_Mercury> roll d20+51 spot
[12:21] <Penuche> Sailor_Mercury invokes Penuche's magic: < 71 > [d20=20]
[12:21] <Sailor_Mercury> roll d20+8+10 anarch
[12:21] <Penuche> Sailor_Mercury invokes Penuche's magic: < 26 > [d20=8]
Immediately looking around you see the area around the gap's been cleared. The mountains nearby are also giving, the celestial assault there picking up steam. A gith ship is strafing by, eliminating fiends by the score. If anything, this area looks to be almost secure.
As you watch, a few bands of celestials pass through, heading through the gap and deeper within.
What are each of the members of Ithea's force doing right now and how far from Ithea are they? Reminder that it was Crystal, Stille, Arrel, Origin, Misalea, Canderella and Simmer.
They're spread out and seeing to things, leading troops and assaults. That manner of thing. It's fairly diffused right now, working over a large amount of space and banding with the various celestial forces.
Ithea moves towards Crystal or Stille, whomever happens to be closest to her at the time being. "Mission seems pretty much accomplished. I'm debating between finishing up here or leaving it to the celestial forces and the gith to finish securing it and go regroup with Jaela. I don't sense the Hanged Raven at all anymore, but I didn't beat it either, so it could return. Or it might not. Thoughts?"
By chance, it's Stille. One arm hangs limp, badly broken and leaking blood. His face is dirty and bloodstained, but he's still up and going. "We've done our task," Stille says, "I suggest we keep an escape route open for Jaela's forces, and to keep any hostile enemies out."
Ithea uses some healing on Stille and nods. "Okay, lets start to gather everybody else then. Things should be stabilizing here and I can leave those anarch-created felines with a simple command to attack demons and obey celestials."
Opportunistic Piety x2 for 46 HP on Stille.
Stille's arm heals from Ithea's magic, "Thank you," he says, "I've used all mine on helping our allies and soldiers to recover. A dog-daemon ran into me full bore, with some help from a hezrou."
Ithea nods as she searches the area for the next officer and starts leading Stille there. "Yes, I know. I did the best I could to help with those anarch-created felines. Unfortunately my spell of choice for mass combat is not great against demons."
Origin and his golems are nearby. They've torn open a hunk of rock, several slaad within now nothing more than a smear. "And that," Origin declares, stomping down on the last and reducing it to nothingness, "Is for usurping the Dawnbringer's sacred duties!"
"Well, I clearly missed an important part of the conversation with those slaads," Ithea notes drily. "Looks like you're done too, Origin. We're gathering everyone back up to regroup with Jaela. Bell and his forces can handle themselves now, even if I haven't managed to find who this Bell guy is that Calleigh mentioned in all this chaos."
A final stomp and Origin turns, "Alright boys," he calls, "Wrap this up and back into formation."
So just going to gather everyone and get your things together, then advance?
Barring combat that interrupts that, or celestial forces speaking to us, yes
As Ithea goes to do that, there's a rumble in the air. A strange sensation, a pulse that stirs through the Silver Sea like a feverish man's shudders.
Ithea activates Detect Magic on the off-chance that was caused by magic.
Any roll to figure out what that is? Spellcraft? Knowledge? Spot?
It's not magic, at least.
K:P.
I shall mystically roll a d20+42 with the aid of a helpful stranger. Or once I get home if no helpful strangers are to be found.
I'm never rolling for anyone again.
> roll 1d20+42 For Ithea
<Penuche> Iddy invokes Penuche's magic: < 43 > [d20=1]
Something's happening to the Astral, making it- oh. Suddenly the rift is sucked out from all around you, pulled inward and taking the daemons and slaad with it. In moments the Silver Sea has returned, the signs of your opposition fading. Have...have you won?
Man, you and Neph...
"Looks like Jaela finished things off while we were busy here," Ithea says. Looking around at some of the injured soldiers, Ithea decides that they can afford to stick around and help with the clean up and healing. "Change of plans, we're sticking around and helping everyone still alive back into shape so they can head home safely!" Ithea calls out to her forces. "If you don't have any healing abilities, feel free to regroup at Aurora or with Jaela!"
That said, Ithea begins offering her limited healing abilities to the remaining celestial forces and any other friendlies.
Going to do anything noteworthy or is it all just wrapup from here for you?
Wrap-up and diplomatic relationship building!
Right. This topic is done. Next is the battle summary, which I have no idea how long will take. Tonight or tomorrow will see the wrap up topic.
