Ah! You're back in your hoard and nothing is finer. You curl up on a pile of gold and rest, letting it all pass you by for a time.
Kascha's lying down on the couch there, "Mmmm. Surraruthru," she breaks the restful silence, "How are we going to divide the treasures from our last adventure?"
"Mmm... Well, it would only be fair to split it evenly, as usual. I'm particularly interested in the ring, book, and gems, unless you or Ebony or Sylvie are interested. The armor and axe... If we can purify them, I can imagine the armor will be extremely useful for someone, though I wonder who Denixa is... Perhaps that Dana woman would find it of use? The helmet... I like it. It's a powerful item, but unsuited to me. We could... donate... it to Aurora's armory. The rest... Unless someone wants the robes, sell them and split the profits.
On a related note, I have some experiments in mind for the book, gems, and the dragon heart I picked up before. Would you care to help me with them?"
"As long as it isn't today," Kascha says, "I really, really, really want to take a nap after all that."
Also K:R or bardic knowledge/lore check, if you have them. Alternately Kascha can make them if she has them, if you like, since she's here and in the conversation.
"Kascha, would you happen to know who Denixa is? I can't seem to recall anything about the name."
Seeing as I have 0 ranks in K:R, I'll let Kascha swing at it.

"Oh, there's been a few by that name. This one is almost certainly an unholy paladin who served Cyric. A hateful champion who slaughtered any innocents she could find, until she was at last slain by a solar and a mortal hero." Kascha says, "Her armor's probably been passed around since then."
"Hmm. Interesting. It'll likely become a powerful tool if we purify it. Combined with the Helmet of Heroes it may prove a significant boost. We should look into it. But first, a rest and then a visit to The Cauldron. We should invite Ebony and Sylvie. They deserve recognition for their assistance."
"Mmm-hmm," Kascha yawns and pucks her ioun stones out of the air, laying them on her stomach. "After a nap. I want to forget about everything I saw in that place and dream of better things."
Just as Kascha lies down, Elena pops in, "Oh Kascha, Afina's coming your way. She needs to talk to you about goldenfire."
Surraruthru cocks his head to look up at her with a grunt, having settled in for a nap too.
"Mmph. Send Ger in, I suppose. Goldenfire is of interest to me as well. But so is a nap."
Kascha sits up and yawns as the door opens, Afina coming in.
"Hi," Kascha says, hiding her yawn behind her hand. "You just got us before naptime."
"Hello Kascha, Surraruthru," Afina greets them as she flutters in. "It's nothing urgent if you're planning to rest, but when you're recovered can you come and find me? I was thinking about finishing up that business with Goldenfire and wanted to talk to you about how we're to make a key for it."
"Oh," Kascha sits up, "I'd forgotten about that in the entire business with Secretus."
"It keeps getting pushed back," Afina agrees, just as guilty of that herself. "And it can wait a little longer besides, I don't want to put you to work when you're fresh off a hard battle."
"Would you be willing to wait until after we report into The Cauldron? I have my own interests in Goldenfire and the answers to some of my questions concerning it will be there."
"That's fine," Afina says. "I just want to make sure we're moving forward and it isn't entirely neglected. Come find me after you're done resting and making any reports you need," she says, seeing herself back out again.
Surraruthru nods to Afina and snuggles further into his pile of gold for rest.
I'll work on renewing spells when I get home from work tonight.
"Oh! Unless you'd like to come with us, Afina," Kascha says, gathering up her ioun stones and rising.

She rises gracefully, kicking a few stray coins aside. "You can come visit, you're known there. Maybe," she lowers her voice to a little whisper, "You can bring Bubbles with you? I hear you two are..." she twists two fingers together.
Surraruthru is roused from nodding off by the mention of Bubbles' name.
"Mmm. Bubbles. I need to speak to her, now that I think of it. I had an idea for scarves she might like. Or hate. I haven't figured out fashion yet."
"Fashion, hm?" Kascha considers that, "It's not cold enough around Aurora to bother with scarves. Oh! Unless we're going to Ice soon. Are we?"
"We can, I suppose. I was thinking of including an Endure Elements or Planar Bubble enchantment with them. With that, even if it's not cold enough for them, they become suitable for fashion, correct? The idea is to have shape, embroidery, and accessories attached to them resemble the various dragons of Aurora. A Baleruk scarf, an Arrel scarf, a Hope scarf, and a Goldanariux scarf."
Pausing a moment to roll over in the pile of gold and silk, he continues, "Attach bits of appropriately colored metals and gems to simulate scales and eyes. That sort of thing. Made out of phase spider silk."
"Yes we're 'that'," Afina says in response to Kascha's finger waggling. "I'll go let her know. Send Elena for us when you're ready to go."
"Aw," Kascha giggles, "That's also a good idea, Surraruthru. What do you think about it, Afina? Dragon scarves, that is."
"Animate Object would asking provide quite the enterance flair."
"I have recently discovered I like feathers," Afina admits. "So something in that vein based on Arrel might be nice? Don't put accessories on them though, that just breaks the flow. You want elegant and clean lines on your scarves."
Surraruthru responds sleepily, "Mmm.. that's the sort of thing I news Bubbles for."
Iddy, your phone's auto correct is hilarious.
"Yes. Now then..." Kascha yawns.
Anything to do before the Cauldron trip, Surraruthru?
Um, only new/changing magic items. I'll have a few experiments to do after, but I plan to start the research in The Cauldron. I've got questions to ask there.
Okay, magic item purchases and upgrades can be done OOC since it's loot topic bait. We don't need to wait on that since you're in friendly territory here. Go ahead and sort out loot now that Eb clarified in the meantime.
It's not long for the five of you to get together. Ebony, Kascha and Sylvie have healed up and rested. Afina's there as well, joining all of you.
Set yourselves up and I'll get you moving.
Also presumably Bubbles? Afina's still wearing her rainbow-styled dress that Bubbles gave her as a gift, no new daring fashion statements to be made right at this moment. "Shall I handle transport or do you have it, Kascha?" she asks, since it is Kascha's home they're visiting.
Surraruthru lands on Kascha's shoulders.
"Hello everyone. Bubbles, has Afina mentioned my idea to you?"
Bubbles runs up as everyone gets ready, "Sorry I'm late," she's clad in a green frock with a rather daring cut, collar and sleeves lined with silver. "Sweetie, I had one of those mornings where nothing felt like it fit right."
After that she looks to you, "No, but do go on."
"I sometimes get those," Afina nods understandingly, drifting closer to Bubbles and letting Surraruthru tell her about his scarves.
Kascha makes a face, "I remember days like that when I was a mortal. I bloated terribly," Kascha's ew gives way to a smile, "It's been a long time, hasn't it?" she murmurs, more to herself than anyone else.
"Phase spider silk scarves. Made to look like the various dragons of Aurora, draped about the shoulders, like with Kascha and I. Bits of metal or appropriately colored things for scales and eyes. Minor enchantments of Endure Elements or Planar Bubble to get around the heat of a scarf in decent weather. Animate object to help with extravagant entrances. Feathers for Arrel-scarf and the like."
"Oh, those could be fabulous," Bubbles says, "Really, tell me more!"
As she says that all of you start to head out...
Going to the Astral and shooting straight for the Cauldron?
Sounds good to me.

Your brief Astral foray is uneventful. By the time you reach the Cauldron, you've talked about scarves enough to last a few lifetimes. As the Cauldron comes into view, "Finally," Kascha says, "We'll go in from the top, I suspect they're waiting for us."
Surraruthru nods and follows Kascha. She's been here far more often than he has, after all.
"It's good to be back here. Wonder if Seira herself will meet us, or her mate again."
"Seira's usually busy," Kascha admits as you fly up.
As you fly up the mountain, an earth elemental rises from the Cauldron's stone and calls, "Friends," he calls in a rumbling voice, "You are invited to here."
Surraruthru glides down to the elemental and hovers in front of it.
"Hello. Who might you be? Did you need something from us?"

"Lady Amaryl wishes to meet with all of you," Rubirock replies. "Come this way."
Surraruthru drops to the ground and follows along.
"Hello Rubirock," Afina greets the elemental, trailing along behind Kascha and Surraruthru.

You are lead along the various tunnels of the Cauldron. Down and through them, semi familiar ground for Afina. You even pass a familiar bust of Saint Alicia, as you'd know that head anywhere. As you go along, Kascha adds, "We're going somewhere odd for whatever reason," she speaks up. "Maybe to do something with the fragments of the Sword of Myr?"
Suarruthru nods to Kascha's comment.
"Hmm... Possibly some kind of diving forge? In the center of the volcano? Afina being with us suggests she may play a part in reforging the blade, perhaps? Or smaller items out of the shards.... A bracelet or ring, maybe?"
"It might be," Kascha says, as you go on. "Afina, do you think you could make something special out of those?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Afina confesses as she trails along with Bubbles. "But I can make something special out of most things if you give me enough resources."
"That'll do," Kascha says, as meanwhile Bubbles looks around, taking it all in.
"This is very dao-chic, or maybe a dash of efreet." she remarks, "Cavey and warm."
"Better than a daemon lord's realm, that's for sure. I really need to get that Living Vault built..."
Like this you're lead to a room deep in here. A forge, flames coming from it. It's hot in here. Lady Sanzha is in here, fanning herself with a little hand fan. She stands and waits, "Good to see you again, Afina. How is your new form?"
After a reply, "Surraruthru, I understand that Secretus is dead?"
"Good to see you as well, Lady Sanzha," Afina curtseys respectfully. "The new form is everything I ever hoped for. I don't mourn my absence from the Cycle any longer," though revelations about Yggdrasil helped there. "And I've recently furthered my understanding of the para-elemental planes as well, helping me feel more comfortable in my skin."
"He is. The Sword of Myr expended the last of its power to restrain Secretus for us to kill. Kascha has the shards of it, and the spirit of the blade, or it's original wielder, spoke to us. Ebony and Sylvie were especially instrumental in defeating him. I feel Ebony, Sylvie, and Kascha played critical roles in his downfall. When he was destroyed, Sylvie prevented him from reviving. There were a great many souls released on his death."
"Good. A moment on that, Afina. Kascha," Lady Sanzha says.
Immediately Kascha bows and takes out the shards of the sword - just broken bits of an ancient blade. Lady Sanzha kneels next to them, "It's exactly like Seira said," she murmurs, running a finger down a rusted edge. "A crusade of one across eons, refusing to surrender to an invincible foe, until at last victory was obtained. Fitting, isn't it?"
"It seems so. Created to defeat a single foe, it's mission completed, it too ends. Both were connected in a rather macabre way. Still, the spirit of the crusader is free now. For all it's rust and broken pieces, its victory and glory should be revered and sung about for ages."
Surraruthru eyes the shards of the blade with great respect.
"Its will was legendary. I should hope to match it, one day."
"I think there's something that can still be done with it." Lady Sanzha says, "How fitting that you came here, Afina. Would you care to help me forge this?"
"Certainly," Afina flutters forward. "What we're you thinking of making it into?"
"A set of rings or a single dagger," Lady Sanzha says, "Surraruthru, it is your choice."
"I would say a set of rings."
"Very well. It is your victory and your will should influence it," Lady Sanzha says, as both her and Afina get to forging.
Go ahead and do your thing, Afina.
Rings? Really?
Boy did they come to the wrong pixie.
Afina doesn't have any talent for making jewellery, but even worse is the fact that she is flat out incapable of imbuing magic into rings.
Why this is when she can do the same for necklaces, belts, and bracelets remains a mystery. Wouldn't an elf sized bracelet serve as a ring for a cloud giant? However it's an immutable law of reality that this is something she cannot do.
"I hope you know how to make magic rings," she mutters to Sanzha as she putters around, trying to assist in the vein of a natively talented but utterly unskilled apprentice.

With your help, the rings are swiftly made. Half a dozen of them, little more than metal wire without decoration. Yet they seem bright, strong. Stronger than they should be, radiant in the fire's flames as they cool.
"They seem rather... impressive. As is everything you make Afina. Excellently done."
She can tell when she's being buttered up but she lets it pass. "I was only the assistant for this venture," she says humbly.
"These rings will do good in Seira's service." Lady Sanzha gestures, the rings cooling in a few moments as magic flows. "Each will give the wearer the same iron will that Myr had to endure so long."
"They will be of great use to the fight, I'm sure. Thank you for helping to make them Lady Sanzha and Afina."
Lady Sanzha takes one of the six rings and gives it to Surraruthru. "One is Aurora's to do with as they need, because Aurora is one of Seira's investments. See the magic in it for yourself."
Surraruthru inspects it, his innate Detect Magic being active.

"Reinforcing of one's will. Useful. Very useful. It'll find an excellent home in Aurora. Did Seira have anything else for us? I have some questions about a bit of research, and I believe many of them can be found here in The Cauldron."
"Yes," Lady Sanzha says, going to a wall. It parts before her, "Come with me, Lady Amaryl wishes to talk to you about the bargain you made to bring the Sword of Myr here."
Surraruthru nods with some trepidation. The Sword of Myr did break before they got to it... The mission wasn't fully accomplished, after all. Then again, it's not like any punishment is due.
"You'll be fine," Sylvie murmurs as you begin to walk. "If they don't like anyone, it'll be me. They don't like 21. They can't, I think."
Afina falls back with Bubbles to follow the group onwards. "Not feeling too neglected, I hope?" she asks.
"Hardly!" Bubbles keeps her voice down, "One does not meet a former Padisha of the Marid and feel offended! I know Lady Sanzha by reputation and merely meeting her is an honor. Besides, dearie, sometimes simply being somewhere and becoming known to others is acceptable networking."
"She is very nice," Afina agrees, glad Bubbles is bubbly about it. She wasn't sure what sort of friction might exist between the current and former occupants of the Citadel of Ten Thousand Pearls after all.
Surraruthru nods to Sylvie and continues on.
The passage winds and twists until you come into a pleasant room. You've been here before, it's where you were met in your last visit to the Cauldron. Amaryl awaits here, "Surraruthru, Afina," she greets both of you warmly. "Congratulations."
"Hello, Lady Amaryl," Afina greets her. "No congratulations are due to me, I took no part in Surraruthru's recent success."
"It is not so long ago that your ascension does not merit praise," Lady Amaryl smiles, "Though you are not the star of the hour."
"There is no single star of the hour, Lady Amaryl. Kascha, Ebony, and Sylvie were every bit as instrumental to our victory as I. They deserve equal credit."
Amaryl gives each of them a look of acknowledgement, though her gaze flickers towards the negative on Sylvie.
"Still, while you did not return the Sword of Myr intact, you accomplished its longstanding goal, found out much of the truth of it and slew a yugoloth who had countless souls under his dominion. That is worthy of reward."
"As long as the others are granted rewards as well. Sylvie helped me figure out the defenses Secretus had set up multiple times, and dealt the final blow. Ebony was able to destroy him initially. Kascha helped me solve multiple issues and dealt significant blows against him. I managed to rip his defenses away and leave him vulnerable for the others."
"Yes," Lady Amaryl agrees, "So what is your desire? Do you still wish for celestial blood?"
"I do. It's part of my plan to follow in Seira's footsteps. There's also research and questions I have pertaining to my plan. I can't imagine Seira will be willing to simply answer them, but I think either she or you will be able to point me in the right direction."
Amaryl folds her hands and continues. "When Seira was a mortal, she did much to learn and gain more power. Some of this came with...considerable amounts of being run around. While there is value in questing and learning things on your own, one must be aware of when you merely stalling. If you wish, we can begin preparing you for the ceremony today."
Surraruthru nods. "I would. I suspect Kascha would like to be present, if only to sate her unending curiosity? I'd like to invite the others, but I'm not sure how secret you and Seira want knowledge of the ritual to be, or if they simply have pressing matters. I know Afina has questions about Goldenfire, which is one of the subjects I was planning to ask about."
"Best to handle those first," Lady Amaryl says, "Afina, what are your questions?"
Afina blinks, caught on the hop by that one. "Ahh... actually they were more for Kascha?" she says apologetically. "It's nothing to do with Goldenfire in general, we have some embers that need to be forged into a key, it's to do with getting ready for helping Seira and Alicia with their joint project."
"Ah," A look to Kascha, "Kascha and I can sort that out ourselves. In the meantime, were there any more questions?"
"I have some. As I said, I'm interested in following Seira's footsteps. She made Goldenfire part of her; made it her own. I desire to do the same. Is it a matter of exposure and enduring it, or is there a way I can gain affinity for it and make it my own? I imagine gaining an affinity with fire would help, in general. It's part of why I desire to become a Celestial. Goldenfire is both holy and fire."
"There's many paths to goldenfire," Lady Armaryl admits, "Seira found it through her own research and power, but she's exceptional. My advice would be to complete and adapt to the transformation first, as that being fully integrated into yourself will make everything else easier."
Surraruthru nods.
"Understood. I'm just looking to plan a path out. My other questions concern dragons, but they can wait. I'm ready to proceed with the ritual if there's nothing else."
Anything else for you two to do or is it ritual time?
Ritual for me, Eb?
I got nothing
Surraruthru is put onto a stone ritual table, Amaryl chanting and working. It's a long ritual and...
Going to just go with it, observe or do something else?
Afina will just loiter around.
I'll observe and try to learn as much as I can.

The ritual is quite complex. Some of it's impossible to replicate easily - directly drawing on divine power and Good itself. But you do get a few basic ideas of the structure as it goes on. You are clad only in a white gown (one that fits a dragon, no less) and told to lay down. You are purified and anointed with oils, blessed seven times and then gently lulled to sleep.
Then your world is awash in fire and power.
Okay, OOC time. You gain the half celestial template, including 4 levels of LA to payoff. You have the following options.
1. Retrain 4 levels into half celestial and sort it out that way. While you're under the hood, you can do any other retraining you want.
2. You can use the next four levels to pay for it on one side of your gestalt. If you do that, no retraining, since if you're going to retrain, I'd rather you just pay them off now instead of later.
3. A third option if you have a better idea.
I'll pay it off now, but it'll take me a bit to get everything hashed out.
That's fine. Go ahead post rebuild details in nagging. This thread will resume when you're done.
Done and nagging posted.
Soon enough Surraruthru stirs, the ritual completed. He rises from the table and...
Go ahead and describe yourself post change, Surraruthru.
Surraruthru stretches his altered body for the first time, to get a feel for it. He's larger and slightly bulkier; a trait granted by the physical improvements that came with the celestial blood. His scales have changed to resemble feathers in shape, turning white with green and gold highlights along his back and around his face, but retaining the iridescent color reflections. The frills framing his skull have hardened and solidified, becoming small horns of bluish white.
"I feel... Significantly better. Stronger and faster. I feel a stronger sense of purpose; more in tune with my intent and goals... I like this. Thank you, Lady Amaryl and Seira, for granting me this gift."
"Use this power wisely," Amaryl says, gesturing to your friends. "Your friends are waiting for you."
Surraruthru nods. "I will. I'll bring glory to my name and Seira's."
With that, Surraruthru takes wing to the others.
"Not bad," Kascha claps as you approach, "It looks good on you, Surraruthru!"
Ebony agrees with a smile, "May it guide you well."
"I think Arrel will approve," Afina says, nodding. "Congratulations, Surraruthru."
"Congratulations," Sylvie says, "Now we have to deal with that goldenfire business?"
"Yes, what do we need to do, Kascha? Let's get this key made."
"Well..." Kascha says.
Quick OOC poke of what you all know IC about this, so we can be sure we're on the same page.
We have embers of goldenfire we got from the Sun in the House of Nature.
The first embers of goldenfire are somewhere in Thalassia, in a volcano.
The embers we have can be turned into a key which will allow us to reach the volcano.
That's it basically.
Thank you.
"We need to forge them," Kascha finally says, "I think I can do we can all manage it now."
"Good, because I don't know how to forge a key for a lock I've never seen," Afina says, glad Kascha's got a clue. "Here or back at Aurora?"
"Here," Kascha says, "We need all of our wills together to do this."
"I'll go to Aurora to collect the embers then. Wait here... assuming I can gate out from here, anyway?"
"You didn't bring them?" Kascha's wings droop, "I thought you brought them!"
"I would have assumed so as well," Ebony says, "No matter. Can we do this at Aurora?"
"Well, I suppose we can," Kascha says with a soft sight, "It's just so anticlimatic. I went to all of this and we didn't bring them."
"Well, no. I didn't think it had any relevance for this trip," Afina says. "Other than the name Surraruthru's desire to learn how to breathe goldenfire doesn't have any connection with the first embers I've been seeking. I can go get them though, it won't take long at all."
"Oh, okay," Kascha says.
Quickly jaunting out, getting them and coming back?
Pretty much.
Huh, this is new. Aurora didn't have a dozen ships floating just outside of it before, or hundreds of starved refugees being sorted. This is decidedly new, much of the army helping them just outside of Elysium.
"What's going on here?" Afina calls over to a familiar face, flying towards one of the officers overseeing the bedraggled unfortunates trooping off one of the ships.
It's Priest, who pauses after healing a beaten, skinny elf and says, "Jaela rescued thousands of slaves from an efreet camp. We are helping them."
"Good work, Jaela," Afina says. "Carry on then." She can grab Jaela once they have the key forged and then finally put this ember business to bed.
You enter into Aurora. Elena pops up, dressed up like Calleigh today - except she's added a squid-like hat. Odd. "Oh hi, Tryll and friends also found a demi plane in the Deep Ethereal they want to add to Aurora. Are all of you coming back soon?"
"I like the hat," Afina says approvingly. "The rest'll be back soon, I'm just here to pick something up since Kascha wants to do her forging at the Cauldron, I don't expect it'll take long. What's the demi-plane?"
"A dock, ocean and laboratory, maybe more," Elena explains, "We could adapt it and we could use the space anyway."
"Well if it's for the taking I'm for it. I'll want a more detailed rundown later but for now I shouldn't keep Kascha waiting," Afina gives her blessing, flying onwards to go collect the embers.
If I need to roll anything for the reforging, please do so for me as I will be at work.
Noted. Thanks Iddy.
You're soon back at the Cauldron. The same forging room as before, "Place them in and focus your will and power on them," Kascha says, "I think we can do this."
"That's it?" Afina asks, setting the embers down. "Should I have a shape or purpose in mind with my will?"
'Yes, imagine a key." Kascha says.
Charisma checks, all.
Afina imagines a very stereotypical looking key in her mind as she focuses, closing her eyes!

Light. So much light that flashes and glows, until at last, "It's done!" Kascha calls, the light fading.
Afina blinks away the sunspots in her eyes and looks to see if the key matches her imagination!
She's not even sure if that'd be a good or a bad thing.
It's a glimmering orb of light, about the size of Kascha's hand. It rests in both of her hands, like a miniature sun.
That's probably best. Why would a random normal looking key work? The likelihood of the teeth fitting any given lock would be infinitesimal!
"Alright, lets go back to Aurora now? Jaela's just come back off a raid but we should give her time to recover before going anywhere, so we'll look to visit Thalasia tomorrow."
Okay, that sounds good. Chance for Iddy to chime in if he has plans and to react, but unless he does, this topic's done.
So waiting on Iddy.
