Fearless Leader
Ginn Intro arc
Symoon Jyam raised an eyebrow at that. The artic lands were notoriously dangerous at this time of year. And the natives by necessity weren't the friendliest of people. Darn shrewd traders though, he'd give 'em that much. "That's awful treacherous waters this time of year. And dangerous terrain for the unprepared."
Fearless Leader
Cherry merely shook her head at that.
"We really don't have a choice. We HAVE to go." This was stated with a particularly meaningful glare at Hero.
'Blasted idiot, getting me caught up in all this.'
Hero beamed at Cherry, completely missing the glaringly obvious subtext of her words, being as how he had the keen perception and insight of a municipal parking garage.
"That's RIGHT! We MUST go!" He declared. There was a brief flash, and Hero was dressed in a dark suit, sunglasses and a porkpie hat.
"We're on a mission from God." he said blandly.
There was another flash, and Hero was again in his normal attire. He blinked at the people staring at him.
"What?"
Once again Cherry was amazed at the seemingly endless supply of stupidity Hero possessed.
Being the street smart girl she was, the young thief had a suitable retort for her erstwhile companion.
"Hero...shut up, you're lowering the average intelligence in the room with every word you speak."
Gari proceeded to walk over and flick the hero in the nose. "Oops, sorry, reaction to being outcooled. Hey Cherry, weren't we supposed to be getting something?"
Fearless Leader
"Yes...thank you for reminding me Gari." Cherry decided that this kind of dialogue was to be encouraged.
Giving Gari a small smile she went along, grabbing all the goods they'd need in their trip southward. She suddenly paused, before turning towards Symoon.
"Hmm...Mister Jyam, is there anything else you'd recommend we take for the trip?"
She politely asked, waving a hand towards the warm fur coats and other assorted of miscellaneous items she had gathered up in a bundle.
OOC: Points to olguin. I'm psycho.... DIE DIE DIE DIE.... Flowers anyone?
IC:
"Ah, certainly ma'am."
Promptly stepping over to the manager of the store, Jyam exchanged some quick words, quickly the man went back and came back with special equipment for surviving in the artic. Twenty minutes somehow the party found themselves fully equipped for a fraction of the earlier quoted prices.
"So, where are you staying Cherry?" Jyam asked as they walked towards the door.
Fearless Leader
"Actually, we never decided where we were going to stay for the night." Cheery sheepishly admitted.
OOC: Gari
IC:
"Well, Thanks for your help Jyam." The blindingly handsome swordsman got between Cherry and Jyam. "We should be going now, right hero?"
Fearless Leader
OOC: Ginn returns to the light?
IC:
Ginn wandered around the town, this way....or was it that. Feh, stupid party getting lost.
Lost in his thoughts, Ginn didn't notice the tall cloaked fellow and his ecentrically dressed drow companion until he was right in front of them...and had bumped into one of them.
Fearless Leader
Yuth's turn
Hero glared at Gari, his earlier line of thought (One of his first!) reasserting itself with devastasting force.
(So much, that if one were listening, a distinct rattling sound could be heard)
With all the casualness he was capable of...which fooled noone, Hero actually did something sensible, albiet to spite Gari.
"Actually, Gari, I was thinking we should take advantage of Mister Jyam's expertise. Do you have any suggestions for us, sir?"
OOC: WHOOOOIE!
Taste hot laser death, you alien scu-errr...RIGHT! Posting!
Ginn Arc
IC:
The cloaked man stumbled backwards, nearly knocking both himself and his companion to the ground. With his friend's help, he regained his balance and scowled disdainfully at Ginn. "Watch where you're going, boy." The tall, scruffy man said, placing emphasis on the word 'boy.' He unconsciously tightened the gauntlet over his right hand and made sure the skull-hafted blade at his side was secure in its scabbard. The drow behind him returned his ridiculously flamboyant hat to its proper resting place atop his coal-black bald head and watched, a look of faint amusement on his face.
OOC: Oh you poor souls.
IC:
"Well, my best clients generally stay in the Inn of the Rising Sun. You probably saw it on your way here. Beautiful view of the oceanfront and a good beef stew."
Fearless Leader
OOC: God, that av icon is sooo cute...
IC: Ginn stepped back, and smirked.
"Well pardon me mister. I wouldn't want to hinder a man trying to find a nice bath and shave, and have some fun with that manservent he... oh look at the time, I must be off now, excuse me..."
With that, he stepped past the pair of adventurers, and continued on his way through the streets, muttering about a "hive of scum and villiany."
OOC: Hooooboy...
Ginn Arc
IC:
The tall man growled softly and reached for his blade, only to stop as his companion placed his hand on his shoulder. "Let it go, Artemis. He's only a boy. It's not worth causing a fuss over." he said, a twinkle in his eye. "Come on, I'll buy you a drink."
Artemis cracked a rougish grin. "Fair enough, 'Drizzt.'" They both chuckled and walked off.
IC: Ginn ignored the two fellows, and looked up and around.
"Hmmm, I can't really find them like this... question is... do I ease up on the powers but make myself more noticable... or use some of them but remain incognito..."
Well, in a world with drow and magic, I guess it's not too much of a stretch...
"Oh, that seems lovely. Been a long time since I've actually stayed in a inn proper." Left unsaid was the fact that she usually hung out in the lobbies to case out potential victims.
Cherry shielded her eyes as she stepped out into the world alongside Jyam.
In her arms she carried some of the supplies, most of the heavy load being carried by Hero and Gari.
At least the two 'pack mulls' had their uses.
"Rena! Come on, we have to get back to Ginn!" She called back.
OOC: slleeeeeeep beckons
IC:
Walking outside the group began on their way towards the docks.
Meanwhile......
"Huh?" A young woman turned as someone caught her eye. It couldn't be... yes, it was...him!
Fearless Leader
Turning to the party, the girl, wearing a brown traveling cloak, walked out into the street...
"HEY!" she shouted, turning the crowd's attention to her... Many in the crowd gawked at her giant double-bladed polearm strapped to her back.
Looking the girl over, Cherry began to run a checklist she had compiled over the time she had been with Hero.
1. Seemingly random enounter....check
2. Stranger showed signs of annoyance/anger....check
3. Stranger possessed a very ridicuolous weapon...check
Adding it all up in her mind, she came to a very obvious conclusion.
"HERO, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" She yelled at the blonde man.
Strangeness abounds wherever Hero involves himself, after all.
Hero, as was his wont, ignored Cherry's irritation.
"Huh?"
He turned, blinking at the girl around the packages he carried. His brain, moving at the speed of a mighty supercomputer, noted the newcomer, and issued forth a charming and witty greeting.
"...?"
What, you were expecting James Bond? this is HERO here...
The girl, not waiting for Hero to drop her packages, pulled the polearm off her back and rushed the Hero...
"YOU WILL PAY FOR RUINING MY LIFE!!!" was her battle charge, since all vengeful characters just have to have a battle charge...
Cherry once again felt an impending headache at this latest turn of events.
"Excuse me! Why exactly are you trying to kill Hero!?" Cherry yelled, yelping as she was forced to dive out of the way of the charging stranger.
Slicing at Hero with the polearm, Cat screamed, "I'M GOING TO KILL HIM EVERY SINGLE HUMILIATION THAT THIS MAN CAUSED ME!!!"
"What could have HERO, of all people, done to you?" Cherry incredlously stated.
"You have to have a brain to efficiently do anything, afterall." She added as a murmur.
Hero, meanwhile, had dropped the packages and was dodging the swings of the polearm.
There are things one can say to a homicidal shrew who attacks you with a large weapon claiming you've ruined her life, to make her calm down.
"Um...excuse me citizen. Who are you, exactly?"
This...is not one of them.
"YOU BASTARD!!! YOU AND YOUR SICK FRIENDS FUCKING KIDNAP ME FOR A RANSOM. BUT NO, THAT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU... SO YOU FUCKING RAPE ME, LEAVE ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING WOODS TO DIE!!! ALL THIS, AND YOU CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER MY GODDAMN NAME!!! DEATH IS TOO GOOD FOR YOU!!!"
The girl then slammed the left end of the polearm into the ground, sending a wave of flames towards Hero...
Cherry's body suddenly siezed up...
Hero...?
The man she had been traveling with all this time?
"YOU SICK BASTARD!" Her voice was a miasma of hurt, betrayal, and disgust as she pulled out her knives.
Mothers spit on the ground as they hustled their children in. No sailor would ever be caught using such a pathetic swearing language.
Fearless Leader
One of Hero's estimated 2 braincells woke up from all the yelling. It blearily stared...and activated a memory, promptly going back to sleep.
"Ah! The girl I saved from the bandits!" he beamed, Sidestepping the flames (entirely by accident) to draw his sword.
"No need to thank me, really...It was the heroic thing to do," he beamed. "Although it was really too bad you were unconcious...that was a good fight." he said, waving his sword in a little mock fight, suddenly lost in his own thoughts.
"Stop lying to me! I woke up in that tent with my pants ripped off and your SEVIL card!" The girl said while pulling a card out of a pocket in her cloak and tossing it to Hero...
Feeling the suddenly gripping in her heart lessen, Cherry breathed a sigh of relief.
Putting her knives away, she softly smiled.
Hero was too stupid to lie well, bless his damned foolish head.
Hero was by now completely caught up in his narrative, and ignored the girl's protest.
"I came across her unconcious, surrounded by ruffians who were in the process of undressing her," he related, waving his sword dramatically, nearly beheading several passersby.
"Naturally, I intervened." He went on, and mimicked the world's Least Realistic Sword fight. "I after defeating the men, I dragged them all off to a local jail."
He nodded decisively. "Yes, no need to thank me, It was the least I could do..."
"So, let me get this straight... You didn't rape me, and instead, killed the guys who did." Cat said while walking up to Hero... then added, "So, why didn't you come back and explain... it would have saved me alot of humiliation..."
Showing off her wrist, with the large scar across it, Cat said, "And pain..."
Hero thought carefully over Cat's words.
Blinking puzzledly, he asked, "Explain what? It's simple enough..." he said slowly.
"You could have come back and told me I hadn't been raped!" Cat screamed...
A crowd of non-descript people suddenly started murmuring at that comment. Various non-polite words and gestures were sent in the direction of the girl.
Mainly:"Is she an idiot?"
Fearless Leader
Cherry could feel her vast amounts (read: almost nill) of patience begin to wear thin.
Smiling serenely, she began to drag Rena away from the scene. Albeit, the effect was dashed by her twitching left eyebrow.
"I think we aren't really needed here. Let's go find Ginn."
Hero scratched his head puzzledly. His braincells had gone back to sleep now that there wasn't so much darned NOISE.
The result being, he had an IQ roughly on par with a turnip.
"You were RAPED?? Who would do such a dastardly thing??" He exclaimed in horror.
Cat, actually being sane, did what any normal person would do in this situation...'
She slammed the polearm onto Hero's head... not the bladed part of cource.
"I wouldn't have thought that if you had come back! I mean, a girl gets kidnapped, blacks out, and wakes up to find bloody panties and her pants ripped off... what was I supposed to think?"
"Um..shouldn't we help hero though?" Rena asked, not yet used to hero's antics and slightly in shock.
Fearless Leader
"Hmm..." Looking deep in thought, Cherry placed a single finger to her lips. "No, this is 'normal' around him, don't worry."
With that, Cherry walked off.
Jyam, being the ladies man he was, continued leading the ladies towards the inn. Rena followed Cherry, instead of staying around for this...chaos.
Fearless Leader
Hero blink-blinked.
"..."
He stared for a moment, then patiently explained. "I saved you. You weren't in any danger, so i didn't need to come back."
The nearly wise and patient aura faded abruptly as he posed dramatically.
"After all...I'm on a QUEST!"
"Some gentleman you are..." Cat resignantly said, while restrapping her polearm...
"Nearly killed myself over nothing... some explorer I am."
Hero blinked again, then beamed.
Yet another neuron misfired, and he began to speak. "You're an explorer? Great! Why don't you join our party?"
Somewhere, the God of Common Sense was holding a LARGE amount, saying. "I think I forgot to give this to someone..."
"Wait a second... I just tried to kill you, and now you want me to join your party?" Cat said...
As had been metioned before...while Hero had all the raw intelligence of cement, he was easily as stubborn as a mule, once a thought made it's way onto the lonely plataeu laughingly referred to as his mind.
"Sure, why not? It was all a big misunderstanding, right? Come on with us! To GLORY!" He shouted dramatically, posing with his sword, causing two or three nearby children to shriek in fright, and run away.
Cat... walked away, in the direction of Cherry and Rena... "I've hated you for months, nearly killed myself over you, and yet... you want me to join you?"
Hero beamed cheerfully.
"Sure, why not?"
Listening to Hero go on and on, Cat wondered, 'Where the hell was he when they gave out the brains?'
Outwardly, she continued walking... "Why? Is it my family's money? I mean... what idiot puts together an adventuring team with people that wanted to kill him?"
OOC: and time...like a river flowed...
IC:
Jyam lead them to a large inn near the docks. A fairly fancy place it had a sign of a red sun on it. Inside the sound of eating and camraderie was king. Over at the horizon the sun began to set...
Fearless leader
Hero followed, but only because Cherry and Rena had also gone in this direction.
"Why not? You're a good fighter, right?" he shrugged, "Always good to have in a band of intrepid heroes..." he commented cheerfully, ignoring her statement about her families money.
"Yeah, I'd like to think of myself as a good fighter... but you don't get it! I was just using those skills not 10 minutes ago to try and dismember you!" Cat said with a twitch as she walked on...
Turning another street, Ginn came across an odd sight.
The 'hero' in the middle of the road talking to some strange woman... with everyone staying well away from the crazy people.
Fearless Leader
"But...you didn't." Replied Hero, still not understanding...
"I certainly wanted to! Your death would have made me feel better... now I just feel lost." Cat replied, ignoring the stares as she desperatly tried to catch up with the others... so she wouldn't have to hear Hero's stupidity any longer...
IC: Ginn spotted the hero and crew from a far, and idly toyed with the thought about proving once again that his .45 was the most accurate brand of .45s out there...
'There is always a time and place for revenge. The longer you let fruit rippen, the sweeter it is. Just take note not to let your revenge rot on the branch.'
His former master's words rang true in his head. Indeed, there would be plenty of time to get revenge. Especially after he'd massed enough power.
Wait a minute. He didn't need to get revenge on the hero... he just wanted to kill him for being so annoying. The .45 raised... and dropped. That girl the hero was talking to was in his line of fire... oh well, time to test out the AP bullets he'd loaded the other day. The arm raised... and dropped again. Hmm, did he really want to kill some girl just to get at the hero? She seemed to be arguing with him so well, best to let them be...
Sighing, Ginn holstered the .45, and moved stealthly around the the bickering two, trying to find the rest of the group, but not alert them to his presence.
"Lost? North is that way," he supplied helpfully, pointing.
"Well, it's a shame you won't join us," Hero waved cheerfully. I have to go rejoin my team now. Goodbye!"
So saying, Hero dashed off in the direction Jyam had taken Cherry and Rena.
Staring at the departing Hero, Cat blinked...
"Idiot..." she stated while walking off in the opposite direction...
Suddenly, she stopped... "Why? I mean, why did I just do that to him? I shoved away a person that might be an ally... because I wasn't raped? Because he saved me and didn't tell me? What am I thinking?"
Cat turned around and started to slowly walk in the party's direction...
Ginn smacked himself as he listened in on part of their conversation, followed by the hero pointing south.
Restrainig his itchy trigger finger, Ginn silently followed, for they would lead him back to the group. If not, then at least he wouldn't have to lead them.
Momentarily, Hero rejoined to group, much to the utter indifference of Cherry and Rena, and the slight disappointment of Gari.
Returning from the inn with the innkeeper, Jyam's eyes widened at the larger group.
"All of you are staying here?"
Fearless Leader
"Yep!" Hero beamed. "We just have to wait for our companion to get back. He has the rest of our gold, and then we can get rooms for the night!"
Hero smiled at Jyam in a comradely fashion.
Ginn sighed, and stepped out of the shadows.
"Well, looks like you're all gathered here, which saves me time. Of course, I'll have to be introduced to these new people..."
Meanwhile...three blocks back...
"heya pretty lady..." A few thugs began catcalling to Cat as they began to encircle her.
"Come on.. gotta kiss for papa jon?" A particularly burly one asked drunkenly.
Fearless Leader
Cat sighed and whispered to the lead drunk, "Leave me alone... or I'll slice you in half..."
To emphasize that very point, she pulled her pole arm off her back...
"hehehe..don't..beee...liike that!" Suddenly a smashing blow slammed into Cat's arm from behind, knocking the polearm out of her grasp and sending stabbing pains up and down her arm.
"Commme on preety mama!" The one in front of her openly gropped her breasts as the other's laughed.
fearless Leader
"LET GO OF ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Cat screamed...
Same situation, different location, different time...
Hero, who had been about to introduce Jyam, looked up on hearing a scream, and promptly lost all interest in Ginn.
"Someone...is in trouble."
He dashed off in the direction he'd heard the noise from. Turning a corner, he came upon Cat and the drunks.
"Unhand her, you fiends!!"
Gari blinked as the hero dashed off... wait a second, that meant likely he was doing some heroic action that would further ingratiate himself to Cherry. That Fiend!
Leaping after the hero he charged behind him, his golden hair flying in the non-existent breeze. His physique perfect as he gallantry charged to the rescue.
Fearless Leader
how can you not dislike this guy? ^_^
OOC: Olguin...COME BACK!!! ;_;
IC:
Cherry sighed, drawing her dagger and following at a more sedate pace. "And the idiot squad deploys again..."
OOC: Oooh..... the beating....
IC;
Rena, being a helpful sort, followed behind Cherry.
Jyam, being a merchant, waited patiently. He didn't get rich by charging off into fights ya know.
Fearless Leader
OOC: GO HERO GO!
IC:
The thugs turned around, even the one groping Cat.
'Huh?!"
Appearing at the end of the street was the blond hero, blade drawn as he charged....
They stared drunkenly at the sight as Gari came into view right behind him.
Fearless Leadder
Cat looked at the Hero, with Gari behind him, not that she knew him, and said...
"DAMNIT!!! RUN FASTER!!!" she shouted... as she kneed the thug groping her in the balls...
The drunken sod wasn't knocked out from the pain, but howled like a lost wolf as he backhanded Cat to the floor, "BITCH!"
fearless Leader
Alcohol=the paiin killer..
Hero yelled in indignation and slashed his sword in a swift arc, scattering the drunks in front of him like tenpins.
He closed the distance to the drunk, and slashed at him with his sword.
"Treating a woman like that is just...WRONG!"
If one were to look at hero while squinting, you could almost SEE the light of righteousness coming off of him.
The thug screamed as he was slashed in two by the vicious blow.
Gari's hand swept out as a dagger flew towards another of the scoundrels, claiming his life in a bloody arc.
the drunks lifted various clubs as they charged at hero.
Fearless Leader
Struggling to pick up her lost polearm, Cat saw the thugs charge Hero...
"Time to repay a little of the favor..." she muttered as she swung the polearm in a low arc, towards the knees of the thugs...
Hero set his jaw heroically, as he proceeded to slash at the closing drunks with wide, sweeping arcs of his gleaming sword, fighting for the honor of a woman...
What could be more heroic than that?
Being non suicidal, the thugs tried to dodge back out of the blade.... not all fast enough as two were slashed by his shining blade.
Another went down as Cat smashed her polearm into his knee, shattering it.
Fearless leader
Shaking his head, Ginn sighed as everyone ran towards the direction of the scream. Following Rena and Cherry, he came upon the hero, Gari, and some woman cutting down a bunch of thugs.
"Uggg, more time wasted..."
Taking a step back, Ginn clasped his hands and started chanting. Moving his right hand, he began weaving a wind script around face level, while his left hand wrote a water script around waist level. The clouds that were in the sky started pooling above the battlesite, turning darker and rotating around a certain point... One could hear the rumbling of thunder, and the air felt... static.
OOC: ho boy...
she...the devil...
IC:
The remaining drunks began to flee before the shining blade of hero...
another falling to Gari's flashing dagger.
The sky above grew black and cloudy as the force of magic called... the waves in the sea began to swirl...
Thunder sounded as lightning flew down.... smashing into Ginn...
Fearless Leader
Ginn felt the familiar surge of wild magic run through him, followed by a familiar feeling of electricity running through him.
An electrical burn is much more different than one made by fire. When someone is burned in a fire, their outer layers simply melt off, one after another. However, electricity is different. The pain starts from within, making the heart race, the muscles spasm, and the bones rattle. The skin bubbles and blisters, and the organs seemingly rearrange themselves.
Ginn collapsed to his knees, and then to his hands, smoke rising off of him in billows. It wasn't a new feeling to him, but it wasn't exactly a welcome one.
"Guess I overdid it..."
Ginn coughed again, and collapsed into unconciousness.
Hero posed as the drunks fled, then reached down to help Cat up.
"You're all right now, Miss." he said grandly.
"Yeah..." Cat said as she stood up...
"Got room for one more? Just for the night... I can pay my own way if you really need me to, but... I don't feel like being alone right now..."
oOC: Damn good clerics...ruining all me fun.
IC:
Rena's eyes widened as she beheld the seared form of Ginn. Gesturing she quickly forged a glyph of healing in the air, his flesh cooling and reverting back to a healthy pink. Though he remained unconscious in the street.
Fearless Leader
Hero nodded amiably. "Sure. We just need to get our gold from Ginn so we can rent rooms for all of us..." he explained, turning to Ginn, who he finally noticed, lying unconcious in the street.
"...Ginn?"
The clouds slowly began to rain over the wild city of Flotsom.
"Give me a hand. We have to get him out of the rain." Rena called to the hero.
Fearless Leader
Cherry sighed as she placed her daggers away, slinging one of Ginn's arms over her shoulder.
"C'mon Rena, he's probably going to start celebrating his victory soon, best get out of here before that happens." She hurriedly said.
oOC: Evil evil...
IC:
Gari smiled and picked up Ginn easily, "Allow me Cherry."
Fearless Leader
Cherry blinked as Ginn was taken off her hands, so to speak.
"Um...thanks Gari." Shrugging, she led the group towards the hotel and AWAY from the celebrating Hero.
As the walked away, if they had bothered to look over their shoulders, they would have seen hero beginning his Victory jig, starting off with some highly energetic pelvic thrusting...
OOC: Speed freak
IC:
One of the corpses moaned...."Noooo...not the victory boogie...."
"the wild pelvic gyrations will destroy the ship!" howled another before they vaporized like standard RPG enemies.
Rena blinked and quickly fled after the rest of the party towards the inn.
Fearless Leader
OOC: Guess ye need something to work with
IC:
Cherry turned arriving back at the inn, Jyam patiently waiting under the cover of the outcropping. Behind her, Rena and Gari followed.
Fearless Leader
OOC: Skuld! Use your Skuld Bomb Attack on the Writer's Block! *watches the Writer's Block (TM) blow up*
IC:
"Hmmm....can someone...anyone wake Ginn up?" Cherry asked, making a show of batting her eyelashes at Gari.
"We DO need him to pay...and I really don't feel right about rooting through his things myself."
OOC:Headache...why..did I do that
IC:
"Sure!" Gari promptly started slapping Ginn until he began to come to.
Fearless Leader
His muscles acting on instinct, Ginn's arms came up and trapped Gari's arm with one hand on the wrist and the other on the elbow. Ginn's left foot snapped into the crotch of Gari, before he twisted the arm outwards and sent Gari spinning off to the left.
Immediatly, Ginn was up and in a defensive stance.
"What the hell do you want?"
Gari knelt from where he landed, blessing his lucky stars for including standard complete armor set in his disguise.
not that it helped much.....
"Ouch..."
Fearless Leader
Hero returned just in time to see Gari lying on the ground clutching his groin.
Ignoring this, as he was the noble hero and an all around good guy, declining to laugh at Gari, despite the fact that he found it really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really funny.
"Ginn!" Hero bellowed good-naturedly. "Just in time! Can you give us what's left of the gold? We need to rent rooms..."
Ginn dropped the stance, and looked at Hero.
"I gave Rena all the gold. She was suppose to buy supplies with it."
Cherry turned towards Rena, her left eyebrow arched slightly.
"Um...Rena...why didn't you just save the whole lot of us trouble and tell us beforehand?"
We could've been spared this whole mess, then.
"I thought we spent it all..." checking Rena found a hole in the sack that had leaked into another section of her bags.
Sweatdropping Rena fished out a handful of gold.
Fearless Leader
"Right." Cherry dryly said, leading Jyam and Rena to the front desk.
Ringing the bronze bell on the oak desk, she waited for the inn keeper.
"Hello? We'd like to rent some rooms for the night." She called out, ringing the bell once more.
To their left, a room full of unsavory figures was visible as the waitresses served food and drink to the customers of the inn.
A broad shouldered man emerged from the back to stare down at Cherry....before seeing Jyam. Nodding to the merchant, he smiled broadly at the young woman. "Certainly madam. I have two rooms avaliable for you for the prime price of fourty gp. Dinner is extra."
Fearless Leader
OOC: Go Skuld! Use your Mjolnir! *watches Skuld beat yet another opponent* Yatta! ^_^V Only three more battles 'till we become the champions.
IC:
Cherry smirked slightly at the inn keeper's change of attitude, it was so rewarding seeing people do about faces like that.
"Right. Rena, if you would?" She said, looking at the gold meaningfully.
OOC: ^_^;
IC:
"Well...that'll be just enough for the rooms and dinner. My names Ocra, just hollar if you need anything. Jeza in the other room will get you dinner.
Fearless Leader
Go towards the other room and give me a chance to scene post
OOC:
Skuld: Just ignore the crazy, move about your day people. Trained professionals will handle it. *moves Dracos onwards with her debugger, now wearing a pseudo policewoman's outfit*
IC:
Cherry opened her mouth to protest, but just as she was forming words.
Her stomache growled.
Loudly.
Blushing rather darkly, she snapped her mouth closed and nodded, meekly walking into the room.
OOC: Laughs
IC:
Before the party was a large room filled with people. Waitresses scurried around bringing food to everyone. a group of armored knights sat in one corner, while a couple of cloaked men sat in another. The fireplace roared, ensuring the room was nice and toasty. Several never-do-wells sat near the bar, nursing various drinks. Only a single table near the back was open.
Fearless Leader
Ginn, also needing to satisfy his food-lust, made his way to the back table and plopped himself down in one of the corner chairs.
Cherry remained quiet as she took her own chair across from Ginn, her embarrassment still quite evident.
Gari glared at Ginn as he sat across the table, muttering "i'll get you and your little soul too."
Rena sat down demurely next to cherry.
Fearless leader
Muttering as she entered the main lobby, Cat slammed the door behind her and stomped to the main desk...
"I swear... if I find that idiotic bastard..." she grinds out from between her teeth as she gets there...
Hero followed, cheerfully sitting down beside Ginn, and looking around for their waitress.
a saucy young lass came over with a pad in hand.
"I'm Dezra, i'll be your waitress t'night. We have beef stew for dinner and whatever ale fits your fancy."
Fearless Leader
"Just some beef stew for me, thanks." Cherry mumbled, her expression still one of utmost embarrassment.
Hero nodded cheerfully to the waitress. "Beef stew and your finest decently priced ale," he seconded to Cherry's order.
Ginn nods.
"I'll have the same as him."
Ginn pointed to Hero.
"Um...same myself." Rena followed, unsure in this world.
"Okay, be with ya in a bit." Dezra walked away leaving them at the table.
fearless Leader
"looking for a room lass?" Ocra asked from the desk.
Fearless Leader
Speaking in an elegant manner, Cat replied, "Why yes, I am... are there any available for the night?"
Her left eye caught sight of Hero's unruly hairstyle, but giving Hero a headache could be deferred... until she aquired a room.
With a keen eye, Ocra appraised Cat and her accent. "Aye we do. I presume you'll be wanting a suite?"
Fearless Leader
Cat nodded and answered, "Yes, a suite would be preferable. However, if there is one unavailable, I will settle for an average room."
Taking time to wipe a strand of hair from her face, Cat ass-kissed, "I would not want to take potential business away from such a classy business as this."
"Sure we do Milady, that'll be 80 gp, including dinner of course." Ocra was nothing if not a keen businessman.
Fearless Leader
Gently pushing her brown traveling cloak out of the way, Cat reached into her purse and removed the required amount, along with 5 gp extra.
"Keep the tip... It's been quite a pleasure doing business with you." Cat stated with a polite bow.
OOC: IT's a hazy shade of winter
IC:
Tossing Cat a key, Ocra smiled. "Indeed lass, Dinner's served to your left in the main hall. Your room's third on the top floor."
Fearless Leader
Pushing aside her embrassament, Cherry faintly smiled at Rena.
"A bit overwhelming, isn't it?" She asked, vaguely gesturing all around them.
OOC: It's the springtime of my life
IC:
"Yeah, so used my own little kitchen and home. Never been in an inn before."
Fearless Leader
Ginn, being the anti-social lout that he is, decided not to get any of his teammates, no matter how cute they were. He instead settled for looking like a silent and brooding black lump of flesh, as his disk-player and headphones kept him from unleashing violent actions upon himself.
'Damn I'm hungry... why won't that waitress get here any sooner? I mean, its only an inn, they have tubs of slop already prepared in the back, and I'm not at Jack in the Box or anything... I'm sooo hungry... maybe I can just kill the hero, and eat his flesh... I bet he tastes all funny though. Probably part of his fruity nature, the damn fruit. I bet him and Gari are a bit closer than people think... oh well, not my problem. Where the hell is the food...'
Finding a napkin, he reads a little blub that the previous occupants of the table had written down in their drunken hazes. Halfway through the blub, he developed a headache.
'What the fuck is this guy talking about... infinite zeros and a set of eight?'
Reading to the end, Ginn could only groan at the failed logic of the words of the bar napkin.
'Infinite groups of zero can be simplified to 8, cause its still zero? Is he trying to combine imaginary and real numbers? Is he trying to divide by zero? Why the hell is the 8 there, then?'
Fed up with the failed application of soft science to math of all things, Ginn calmed himself, took out his lighter, and burned the napkin. Dropping the burning napkin to the ground, he stepped on it a few times to make sure it was completely chared, and no one would ever have to suffer that logic trip again.
To prevent himself from getting more stupid from the encounter, Ginn pondered phosporous bonds, and their relation to to fatty acid chains and the perfect ice cream.
Hero, meanwhile, listened to the girls converse, cheerily twirling a fork in his hand, humming.
He looked around, musing idly at the inhabitants of the dining room. It was awfully gloomy in here.
He'd have to suggest the owners grab a karaoke machine or something.
Gari grred across the table at ginn. Muttering under his breath, 'yes. eat, play. Listen to music.. I will EAT YOUR SOUL!'
Fearless Leader
Hero hears this, and hero only
Hero's head snapped around and he glared intently at Gari. An intelligent man would have remained silent, while keeping Gari under close supervision.
"You...are evil."
Oh well. One out of two isn't bad.
Rena starred at hero as he blatantly accused one of them of being 'evil'.
Gari rose, and brilliantly responded, "No I'm not!"
Fearless Leader
Ginn looks at Gari, then Hero, and back at Gari before settling back down to staring at the table.
"Birds of a feather..."
"Okay, got yer grub." Dezra brought out several generous sized bowls of the beef stew serving everyone their food. Next she brought out the few mugs of fine ale that had been ordered. Serving the hungry party she traveled back to the kitchen.
Fearless Leader
'Now to sate my food-lust...'
Ginn was about to dig in, but then decided to cast a quick purify food and water (saved).
A quick faint light blue pattern formed around his bowl and ale, before settling in. Only then, did Ginn begin to eat.
Cherry looked at Ginn oddly for a few moments before turning back to her meal in contentment.
Nothing like a good meal to reaffirm her belief that the world was NOT conspiring against her. She looked at Hero.
Chaos Magnet... She thought in annoyance.
Hero promptly turned away from Gari and began to cheerfully dig into his meal, eating with surprising speed.
Ginn sighed contently as he finished his ale and stew. Quite sated, he turned to Cherry.
"So, what did you do with the keys to the room?"
Cherry pulled out the keys given to her by Ocra, and tossed one set to Ginn.
"One room for you, one for Rena and I, and one for the others."
Walking into the dining hall, Cat passed Hero and gave him the Glare of Death before unstrapping her polearm and taking a seat next to the party...
Hero noted Cat's entrance, smiled cheerily at her as she sat down, and resumed his consumption of the evening meal.
"Thanks so much Cherry, you've been a huge help."
Key in hand, Ginn stood up, and started for the rooms.
"I'm turning in. You people should get to sleep soon too, just so we can wake up early."
"Don't mention it, Ginn." Cherry cheerfully called out.
Standing up, she followed after her fellow party member.
"Rena, I'll be lying down for a nap. Just knock and I'll answer the door for you."
Yawning, Rena covered her mouth. "Wait, I'll come with you. I'm rather beat myself."
Fearless Leader
"Alright, come along, then." Cherry lightly commented. Turning over her shoulder, she lightly flung the last set of keys to Hero.
"Catch! You and Gari room together." With that, she was gone.
OOC: Lets move this along... ^_^;;
IC: Laying back in his bed, Ginn reviewed the future. They had found a passage to the southern continent, so they could solve the first leg of the puzzle. However, his opponents were formidable... maybe too formidable. To save himself and his friends he may need to bind himself to the power he hated. Every time he used that power, something went wrong, and millions died... and every time, he'd feel a bit more vicious. Well, hopefully it won't come to that, and for once, he could have a nice, normal adventure. He had heard good things from Rena about her homeworld. Assuming he got through this one, he might ask to visit her's... Ah well, sleep for now, for the next step awaits!
Ginn falls asleep.
And so the moon slowly set... Bringing a brand new day....
Fearless Leader
Waking up with the rising sun, Ginn started his day like any normal human. After taking care of business, Ginn placed himself outside of the Inn, smoking a cigarette.
Hero, for his part, started his day, as he usually did.
By oversleeping.
As Ginn got up and began moving around, Hero continued to snore....
GM EDIT: you now have 40 gp. This is known only to Olguin. Now established in game.
IC:
Cherry looked rather shady as she stepped outside the Inn, her eyes occasionally darting to and fro as she hailed Ginn.
"Morning." She smiled, which dulled slightly as a curious sounding clink was heard from the pouch on her hip.
"Heya Cherry!" Gari, oddly up and at 'em, with nifty black shades on stepped out of the hotel. His teeth shone as he smiled, cutting a heroic image.
Fearless Leader
"Hello Gari." Cherry reluctantly mumbled, eyes half lidded as she cheerfully ignored the heroic effect.
Turning back to Ginn, she faintly smiled.
"So, you never told us when we leave."
Ginn regarded Gari's presence for one second, before promptly ignoring him and turning to Cherry.
"Well lets see. The captain told me 4 days yesterday, so I suppose that leaves us 3 days from now. We might as well have a look around the city, and see how we can come up with more cash..."
Rena yawned as she stepped looking for...
"There you are Cherry. Was wondering where you went.", She smiled cheerfully.
Fearless Leader
"Makes sense. We could always try..." Cherry was about to give her own opinion on the matter, but quickly hushed up when Rena walked up to her.
"Oh, Hi Rena." Her expression brightened when she saw the blue haired girl. "Well, I had to go take care of some business, you see."
"Ah...*nods as her stomach grumbles audibly* Um...do we have enough money for breakfast?" Rena smiles nervously.
Fearless Leader
Cherry looked at Rena's expression for a few moments in consideration. Argh...why did this have to happen to her!?
Feeling her often times ignored conscience begin to badger her, she mentally scowled.
Oh well, easy come easy go and all that.
"C'mon, I'll get you something to eat. Ginn, we'll talk later." Walking back into the inn, she strided towards the counter.
"Excuse me, how much does it cost to get a decent breakfast here?" She politely, but bluntly, asked.
Ocra smiled broadly at the lass, answering swiftly "We have some fried eggs and sausage... it'll be a gold piece a person."
Fearless Leader
"Thank you sir." A small smile graced Cherry's face as she turned back towards Rena.
"C'mon, I'll treat you."
"Thanks Cherry." Rena smiled and followed Cherry into the dinning hall, mostly empty at this early hour.
Fearless Leader
"No problem. Can't have you passing out on us." Cherry jokingly replied as she took a seat at a table closest to the exit.
A younger waitress, a red headed waif smiled warmly as she came over. "I'm Tifa, here to take your order."
Fearless leader
"One plate of fried eggs and sausages for my friend." Cherry politely started.
"Tee-hee, Coming right up!" Tifa walked away sunnily, leaving the two women alone.
Fearless Leader
"Energetic, ain't she?" Cherry dazedly mumbled, looking vaguely disturbed by the sheer amount of cheer the waitress possessed.
Shaking her head, she turned back to Rena questioningly.
"Feeling any more adjusted to my world now?"
"A little..." Rena smiled nervously at the taller girl, dressed in better fitting clothes they had purchased. "I guess I'm not going home any time soon, so might as well make the best of it."
Fearless Leader
"Heck, just stick with me and you'll be alright." Cherry modestly countered. "I'm about the only native in this group that has all her marbles together."
Rena smiled warmly, "Thanks. Us girls have to stick together, ne?"
Tifa came up, carrying a wood tray with Rena's breakfast. Putting it down before her, the scent of tasty food wafted off the warm eggs and sizzling sausage. A big smile on her face, Rena dug in happily.
Fearless Leader
Cherry breathed a goodnatured sigh as she watched Rena eat. Ah well, one gold piece gone, but at least her friend was happy.
Good enough for her.
Now, if only that blasted Hero would wake up. Then all would be right in the world...maybe.
Hero wandered down the hall, fully dressed, idly peeking in doorways, headed toward the dining room of the Inn.
Everyone else had gone, and he was left to his own devices for the moment.
Thusly...he was wandering aimlessly...whistling as he did.
Cherry looked up at the sounds of footsteps coming closing.
"Oi...good morning Hero. How'd you rest?" She called out, waving to the blonde in question.
Hero waved cheerily. "Hi Cherry!"
"I slept GREAT!" he enthused, walking over. "Looks like a great day for more heroic action!"
With that brodcast of randomly firing neurons, Hero sat down with the two of them, beaming happily
Cherry smirked, "That, and possibly replacing the money we used up to book passage on that boat Ginn found us."
"Want something to eat?" She curiously asked.
Ginn leaned against the Inn wall, eyes narrowed to slits in the morning sun, his cigarette slowly burning.
Hmm, we probably don't have much money anymore... Ah well, this is a port town, so I'm sure we can find some work to do. The girls seemed awfully fond of that one merchant-like person, and where there are merchants, there are work. I'll ask one of the girls once they come out.
Ginn puffed on his cigarette.
Hero nodded cheerfully to Cherry.
"Yes, please." he beamed. "Hm...we should go out an look for work today," Hero said thoughtfully, in a blinding burst of intelligence.
"After all we can't have a heroic quest without money!"
Proving, once and for all, that good things never last...
Cherry's smile grew slightly strained, but she let it slide. No need to get angry so soon, after all.
"I agree, we'll need all the money we can get."
Gesturing to the waitress to return, she dug out another gold piece.
"Another plate of eggs and sausage, if you would."
Smiling sunnily, Tifa took the coin. "Coming right up m'am."
Fearless Leader
Ginn sat outside, leaned against the inn, puffing at his cigarette. The various sounds of life in a port city filled his ears, though most of it was uninteresting.
Geez, they must be having the biggest breakfast in history.
OOC: *bump*
OOC: this is the reason to post waiting and stuff like that!
IC:
Tifa brought back another helping of eggs and sausage, putting it in front of the hero she smiled shyly at the charismatic lug. "Tee-hee, here's your order sir."
Fearless Leader
"Well, you two finish up. I'm going back outside with Ginn, isn't like I need to eat." Cherry commented as she got up, blowing a stray lock of gray hair out of her eyes.
"When you two are done, just come outside, okay?"
So saying, she headed outside.
Ginn was standing there, looking exactly as he did when Cherry left, the only noticable difference being a shorter cigarette.
"Mmm, Cherry, I've been meaning to ask you... who was the guy that recommended this place to you?"
"Symoon Jyam, he's the head of the merchant guild. Why do you want to know?" Cherry calmly asked.
"Thinking of asking him for any jobs? We do need the funds, unfortunately." She sighed, running her hand through her hair.
"Yeah, he's our biggest in right now, and it sure beats running around the city looking for random odd jobs. Of course, we only have 3 days to spare, so it'll have to be pretty quick. Could you... talk to him about it for me?"
"Of course I will. I hardly want to starve out in the street." Cherry got a strange gleam in her eyes at that, but she quickly shrugged.
"If he'll listen, I'll speak."
"Excellent. Since he's the head of the merchant's guild, he should be pretty well known. Lets go see if the innkeeper knows his current whereabouts."
Ginn flicked his cigarette down, and turned into the inn.
"Right." Cherry followed after Ginn as the both of them walked up to Ocra's desk.
Reaching over, she sharply rapped on his desk three times before hurriedly asking.
"Do you happen to know where the head of the merchant's guild lives? We need to talk to him about a..business proposition."
"Ol' Jyam. Of course I do. He's a major customer. He lives up town in the wealthier section of town. Not more than ten minutes walk from here." *smiles cunningly* "For a gold piece I'll have one of my boys show ye the way."
Fearless Leader
Cherry carefully considered her and Ginn's choices. They could find it on their own, but this was a port city. Typically filled with all manner of ruffians and whatnot.
But she also didn't like the smile on Ocra's face. Reminded her too much of her own smiles, that it did. Ultimately, she had to give up one of her hard earned gold pieces to the man.
"Now, we'd like our guide, please." She said in a carefully controlled tone.
She'd make it back...
She'd make it back...
She'd soon see that gold piece's twin..and possibly all its other relatives.
Soon...
Taking the gold piece, Ocra smiled. "TAAAAAAAAARG!"
From behind him a scruffy young lad, roughly Cherry's age walked out. He has a short orange beard and messy short orange hair. Dressed in a light blue shirt and some grey pants, he had a sharp gleam in his black eyes.
"Targ, guide this lady to Jyam's." Ocra commanded.
"Yes Ocra." The boy nodded and turned to Cherry. "Are you ready to go now?"
Fearless Leader
"We're as ready as we'll ever be." Cherry said, lightly shrugging. "Lead the way."
Targ smiled and slipped out the door, holding it open just long enough for Cherry to follow behind him. With a swift gait he moved through the early morning crowds, leading the way from the port section to the nearby wealthier area of town. It was a short walk. Syam didn't make his wealth by not keeping a close eye on the ports. Stopping before a modest dwelling, compared to some of the more extravagant ones nearby, Targ turned to his employer. "Here you are m'am. Happy ta be of service." With a rougish grin he strode back the other way.
Fearless Leader
Cherry crossed her arms over her chest as she considered the home. Quietly sighed, she turned to Ginn.
"Shall we?" Not waiting for Ginn's response, she made her way to the entrance and swiftly knocked on the door thrice before waiting for a response.
The large wood door opened, revealing a young maid in black livery behind it. "Hello. This is the Jyam Residence. Do you have an appointment with master Jyam?"
Fearless Leader
"Um...not really." Cherry started, looking slighly sheepish. But she shoved that aside in favor of getting the rest of her impromtu speech done.
She just hoped that Jyam remembered her.
"But can you please tell him that Cherry is looking for him? My companion and I have to talk to him about some business matters."
"Cherry? And what is this about?" The maid questioned.
Fearless Leader
Cherry fought down the urge to snap out a sharp remark to the maid. She was only doing her job, she reasoned.
"We're thinking about working for him." She held back the urge to comment on the fact that they'd most likely not have to wear such short skirts for their jobs.
The maid was only doing her job...
Didn't mean she had to like it.
Ginn noted the maid's questioning, and decided to let Cherry try to reason with the Maid. However, he started humming a tune softly and casually to himself.
It never hurt to be prepared.
"Oh, potential employees.", the maid smiled and nodded. "Please wait here, I will go fetch Master Jyam."
The door shut right before Cherry as the maid left.
Five minute later the door opened revealing the maid again. "Master Jyam will see you. Please follow me." Turning she entered the house once more.
Fearless Leader
"Alright. Lead the way, ma'am." Cherry murmured, already softly walking after the maid.
"So, do you think that Mister Jyam would consider hiring on us as guards for shipments and the like?" She questioned, thinking it'd be for the best if she got anything out of the local staff first.
"I am not sure why he would need any new workers but he did agree to talk with you." The maid smiled friendily as she opened a door into a medium sized audience room where Symoon Jyam sat waiting dressed in thick silks. "Greetings Madam Cherry, what brings you to my humble domicile."
Fearless Leader
Ginn, obviously letting Cherry do the talking, silently followed her and the maid. He stopped his light humming when presented to Jyam, he bowed.
OOC: Ginn...take command! @_@
This isn't Cherry's show, afterall. ^^''
IC:
Cherry curtised when the maid presented them to Jyam. Clearing his throat, she nervously started.
"Mister Jyam, I've come here to inquire if the services of my group and I are needed in any way possible? We've unfortunately hit on a snag concerning monetary matters, sir. Ginn and Rena are powerful mages, while Hero, Gari, and I are up to whatever physical task you may require of us." She humbly bowed her head as she finished.
She hoped the impromtu sales pitch was good enough.
Ginn cleared his throat, and bowed slightly before talking.
"Umm, perhaps I should clear things up a bit. I am Ginn, a artificer(sp) of minor note. You've met most of the others in the party, as I was told, and had our current plans told to you. As such, we are in a slight pinch when it concerns money. Unfortunatly our transportation leaves in about 3 days, so we have very few options open to us. You, being the head of the merchants guild here, was the best option we could come up with. Please, most anything you could come up with would be most appreciated."
Just like Cherry, he bowed once again after finishing.
"An artificer wizard? Offering his services." Jyam smiled. "Certainly lady Cherry. I could think of a few tasks such could do for me. Bring the others around and I'll consider whether they are worthwhile investments."
Fearless Leader
Acknowledging Jyam's words with another curtise, Cherry softly mumbled.
"I will bring them to you right away, sir. By your leave." Keeping her head slightly bowed, she turned and began to slowly head out.
Well, things were looking a bit better already.
Jyam smiled as he watched her leave. His face suddenly growing serious he turned to Ginn. "So, Artificer Ginn, it seems you are in great need. Here is my offer. A thousand gold for the next few days of your services in one of my weaponsmithing stores. You will work from dawn to dusk producing magic weapons for sale."
Fearless Leader
Ginn was surprised by the change in Jyam's countanance.
"Err, what kind of enchantments do you need on these weapons? And if I may inquire, why you need that many magical weaponry?"
"General low level battle enchantments. I'm not dickering with you for something special. I smell a war abrewing. And where there is war...there is a profit to be made."
Fearless leader
As soon as Cherry was out of the house, she smiled at the maid. "Thank you for your assistance, ma'am."
Pulling out another gold piece from her pouch, she handed it to the maid. "You've been a real lifesaver, ciao!"
Turning, she began to jauntily walk away from the estate, smile wide.
Well, so far so good.
***
Minutes later she returned to the inn they were boarding at, and gave sincere praise that she had remembered the way.
Opening the door, she cheerfully walked into the dinning hall.
"Oi! You two done eating? I think we'll get to work for Mister Jyam and earn some money to support ourselves on the trip up north."
Before Hero could say anything else, she quickly added in.
"Yes Hero, this would count as a side quest."
"Hmmm... an interesting offer it is. Though, for 1000 gold pieces, I'll probably want breaks and everything, channeling magic into an object isn't exactly as easy as it seems. Though, considering you're asking me to basically enchant as many weapons as I can in a couple of days, the least you could do is go a little higher."
Hero grinned at Cherry, and nodded eagerly.
"Sounds good." he beamed. "Does he want to see us?" He asked curiously.
Cherry smiled back at Hero. Mentally backing herself on the back, she continued. "Why, of course, Hero. He wants to see what we'd be good for before hiring us on."
"Okay Cherry." Rena nodded cheerfully, getting up.
Fearless Leader
"You dare? a thousand gold for three days work is a princely sum. How you do it is of no matter to me, Georg my head blacksmith will oversee your work."
Fearless Leader
OOC: Ah eatman... thats the life for me...
IC: "Fine, fine. I might as well get to work now, seeing as I have nothing better to do... Oh, if you would just show me the way to the blacksmith's..."
Cherry happily nodded at Rena and Hero before she started to lead them out of the inn.
"Sorry about leaving so suddenly. I hope you two had a good breakfast." Walking out into the lobby of the inn, she started to the exit. Opening the door, and stepping out into the bright day, she continued.
"I hope Jyam hires us."
"Wait until your friends return." the wily merchant responded.
Fearless Leader
OOC: Wily indeed. -.-;; *is reminded of doctor Wily*
IC: Just as ther merchant said those words, the maid ushered Cherry, Rena, and Hero (but no Gari? o_O) into the room.
"Ah there you are. Well, I know I'm hired today, but I want to see what jobs you get..."
A large smile graced Jyam's face. "Ah, you have returned. So, who are your friends?"
Fearless Leader
Cherry curtsied to Jyam before pointing at Rena, "This is my friend, Rena Lanford."
She tend gestured at Hero in a grand gesture, "And this...is Hero." Her voice lost a bit of energy as she finished. "The leader of our group."
Rena curtsied lowering her head before Jyam. "Nice to meet you again."
Fearless Leader
"Rena, can you please describe what you can do to Mr. Jyam here?"
"Well...I can heal people and cure diseases with my magic." Rena smiled.
Fearless Leader
Meanwhile...
"You will travel to the artic lands... There you will retrive the mystic artifact of old before the Hero can retrive it."
"Yes my master." A female voice returned...
Fearless Leader
"Hum... I have little need for a healer over three days. Stay at the hotel, I'll see if I can find someone who would pay for such services. And the rest of you?"
Fearless Leader
Cherry sighed, and nervously tucked a lock of her gray hair behind her right ear. Ignoring the fact that she had inadvertently let a major elven trait out into the air to be seen, she started.
"I have no worthwhile skills, sir. I'm not as physically strong as Gari or Hero, and I'm not a mage, so can't provide help that way." Shaking her head, she finished. "I just wanted to introduce my friends to you."
She hung her head as she finished.
"Indeed. Hum... and you hero. You appear nothing more than a muscle laden brute. I presume you offer your services as a guard?"
Fearless Leader
Hero glanced over at Cherry, then looked up at Jyam.
"I can do that, sir. But Cherry and I are a team...We work best together."
He smiled briefly at Cherry. "The brains and the muscle, so to speak..."
Cherry blinked as she lifted her head to look at Hero in surprise.
He still thought she was a friend?
"Um...yeah." She muttered in confusion.
"Well." Jyam looks appraisingly at the two. "Then guards you will be. Stay at the inn for now as well. Except for you Cherry. I'd like to talk with you more about a special job."
Fearless Leader
"Yes, sir." Cherry softly mumbled, still looking confused. Almost like a lost girl, in a way.
Turning towards the others, she tentatively smiled.
"Go on, I'll follow you all later."
Ginn turned to hussle the other two out, before turning back.
"Mr. Jyam? Can you please have someone guide me to the blacksmiths? Or at least tell me how to get there?"
Jyam turned to Ginn and nodded. Gesturing to one of the servants, he quickly had a young boy brought to him. The brown haired lad was sprightly, but looked well taken care of. "George, take Mr. Ginn here to the our blacksmith".
The little boy looked up cheerfully and nodded, leading the way out the door.
Fearless Leader
Ginn bowed respectfully to Jyam, and turned to follow the boy.
OOC: Okay, ye are going to be off camera for a bit Ginn. Don't worry, we'll come back to you soon.
IC:
Jyam smiled and turned to Cherry, "Please miss Cherry, do sit down.". He gestured to a chair, taking one for himself as well, a cunning look on his face.
Fearless leader
Cherry nodded, before taking the seat Jyam had gestured at. "What may I help you with, sir?"
"First things first Cherry," Jyam clapped three times. The servants that remained leaving the room. "Now we can speak frankly. The way you move... you aren't simply just an untalented traveler are you." His eyes were cunning as he looked at her.
Cherry looked faintly amused at Jyam's words, but held her tongue. Waiting for the door to softly close behind her, specifically the click of it closing entirely.
Her ears twitched slightly as she stopped concentrating on picking up the faint sounds around them. "Now, why would you think that, sir?" She looked completely innocent.
"As I said, the way you move. I am thinking you may be able to perform a job for me. Interested?"
Fearless Leader
"Depends on what the job is, and how much I could make." Cherry shortly replied, peering out from her gray bangs.
"I want you to investigate a rival of mine...Kendyar. I believe he has been behind the recent attacks on my traders. But I need proof before I can confront him directly. I will pay you five hundred gp now...and a thousand more upon sucess. It can be anything conclusive. Preferrably letters or records of transactions...a second set of books."
Fearless Leader
