What happens to a character when a game ends, or is cancelled? Or they die permanently? Are their character sheets crumpled and left to be the lining of a hobo's box? Are they merely forgotten, replaced by a new character made up by the player for a new situation?
The answer is yes. But for the interest of starting a new game, let's assume it isn't. Let's assume that all these characters end up in the same place; a limbo of lost and forgotten characters. Be it Discworld, Final Fantasy, Wheel of Time, general Sci-Fi, general Medival fantasy, Modern fantasy, Sailor moon, whatever, all characters who leave their game forever end up in this limbo. How would a character from a certain style of game, from a certain era of game interact with characters from different style and eras of games?

That's... about all I have, now. The general idea. Basically, we take 4 or 5 characters from dead or cancelled games (or characters who have died permanently in their game, or were otherwise written out), and put them in this new Limbo world. It could turn out to be interesting if we could get a variety of characters into it. Though, the game would be impossible now, since no games have recently ended or have been cancelled (well, one could read the old games archive, but that's no fun. >.>). But... if enough games ever did end and there was enough interest, it could be fairly interesting.
Any thoughts?
People actually toss away their character sheets? The only way I would do that is if it's an older one, but I still have the latest one for the character...
It's fun stumbling across some of the older characters from time to time and going "I remember this guy. He was such a putz."
I might be interested if the pace isn't too fast. And I have a few chars that might be usable.
You've been vouched for so I says, save me a spot. Though I'll need to know the system you'll be playing under to revamp my character if the need arises.
Oh, right now it's just a general idea, so I don't have a definite system set up just yet (I was planning on working out those details if any interest in the concept sparked). More than likely, it'll be a slow paced (once or twice every week, maybe?) diceless system, since that's what I'm most familiar with.
Sounds very good to me.
Got a character I might be able to toss into this, if it's slow. Stick me on the bottom of the list though - plenty of other people out there who can get a slot before I do.
Interesting concept for a game. Unfortunately, I haven't role played much so the one character I did make is in a game that hasn't died and is thriving (Dune's S-Moon game) so I don't have an abandoned character lying about. ^_^;
