Yeah, uh. GAME ON! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Anyhow, i got my character pretty much ready. What about the rest of ye blokes? We going to be able to game this week? =)
Dracos
If we don't care about numbers, I am ready.
So to speak.
Interesting suggestion....
I still plan on using a system, if for nothing else than Willpower. Part of the system is that it rewards you for role-playing. Good stuff.
Now, I don't expect this game to take off before some time next week, so I'd like to use this time to gather information about who is still interested in playing. I should have the Chargen info up by tomorrow, as well.
I am, in theory, still interested. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure that I can come up with a usable character concept. You may have to go on without me.
Well, I'm all good.
I have a character concept that I could finish hammering out easy enough once you've told us how much detail you want us to give and also whether we should include them with stats or not.
Stats are good.
Okay, between your mental and your social, you get 5 and 4 extra dots, respectively.
You have 11/9/7 for Talents/Knowledges/Skills.
Backgrounds are at 6.
You get 15 freebies, costs are as normal. You can't (yet) buy extra schools.

I feel that this means something.

Probably that I am once again sick as a dog.
With any luck, I'll progress to the "unable to speak" phase by tomorrow.
Question: What's the name of that short spear with the chain hooked onto the end opposite of the point? I'm forgetting off the top of my head but I want that to be my character's weapon.
*Looks at school powers* I'm kind of confused how you're handling powers vs. backgrounds as when describing school powers you also mentioned "gear" and "ceremony" both of which feel like backgrounds. So it might help to let us know what backgrounds we have and a revised school list so we know what's what.
Sure. I'm guessing it made sense to me at one time, too.
I'm afraid I'm going to need to wait until I can recover from my cold a bit before I can remember.
No problem. We've waited a few months here. One or two more weeks isn't going to kill us.
Celisasu speaks for all of us. =) A healthy GM is a good GM. A sick GM should rest and recover and not worry about such things. =P
We'll wait for when you are feeling better.
Dracos
Then we'll destroy your health once you're healthy!
We're such considerate evil doers aren't we?
I'm now largely healthy (pre-ulcer condition again. Hooray medicine!). RL has done its level best to keep me busy, and work has been hell with daily massive server crashes.
Now. To address Ser Bjorn's confoojun!
In the World of Darkness, all of your stats (as far as you need to know) have some rating between 1 and 10, or 1 and 5. Most of them (all of them in this game, except for Focus) are in the 1-5 category.
For your Mental and Social attributes, you will start with one dot in everything. You then get the listed number of points to add to your various Mental/Social attributes, balanced as you see fit.
You then choose between your Talents/Skills/Knowledges, and assign them 11 points, 9 points, and 7 points, respectively. These dots then get added to the various traits in whatever combination you see fit (though, none should be higher than 3 at start).
You have 6 points to spend between backgrounds, and Resources is cash/normal equipment. Gear is like the difference between Resources and a Wonder, or a Relic or an Artifact, etc. Basically, Gear indicates some special item (armor, weapont, etc.) that's really cool or may have some minor magical effect (ever-full wineskin, etc.).
After all of that, you get 15 freebie points, to spend across your other abilities.
Each attribute (Social/Mental) costs 4 points per dot. Abilities are 2 points per dot. Backgrounds are 1, and I'll give anyone who wants it the option to buy an additional point of willpower for 5, or sell a point of willpower for another 5.
Sorry about the delay, and let's go ahead and get to work on creating the characters. If I've taken too long and you're not interested in playing, I understand; it's my own fault ... but please let me know.
IT BE TIME TO ROCK.
The character shall get finished and posted before I sleep.
Dracos
I'll put up my character Friday night(it's real late over here right now and I'm gearing up to go to bed, I was just doing a check to see if things were going or not). If I don't have it up Friday it'll definately be up Saturday night.
And luckily our character concepts seem to be creating a diverse array of skills and resources. All of us are combat capable but it looks like we all have noticably different subsets of skills whether it's our monk and his pile of followers or my assassin and her massive information network. :D Variety is good.
Good stuff. We're missing Bjorn, but that seems to be a component error, not anything wrong with the rendering engine.
Excellent.
The rendering engine be mighty. You can give a sword in the gut and it carries on.
Dracos
Well if the component is like my cousin's car a good solid whack should get it to work.
I will start this game off tomorrow morning. Just to let you know.
:D
*apologizes for the delay, needs to recenter himself a bit before continuing to post* I'll get to it tomorrow hopefully.
Dracos
I got hit by busyness(as opposed to business) on my end. Hence the delay on my reply.
*drives the business train through the middle of the OOC*
Dracos
DERAIL'D!
;_;
Okay, you can lead the train, conductor Brian.
Dracos
Assassin?
Dracos
*Shifty eyes* Assassins? Ninja? They don't exist. Really.
Aliele is such a dishonest person towards those she doesn't consider friends or allies. :D
Um. That wasn't a kick, Celisasu. That was a sword strike.
I somehow doubt you intended to hold up your arms to catch it ^^;;.
Grawr :\ Either I'm failing horribly at writing or you're having really a hard time reading what I'm posting. ^^;;
Dracos
Look, I don't really want to raise a huge fuss about this but...
while I'm perfectly willing to play off what 'occurred', I feel that what I wrote was basically all but tangentally glanced at in the responses. I have to bring this up because I know long term it will frustrate the hell out of me and ruin my enjoyment. I can take little miscommunications from time to time and not blink but practically every post I made in that fight was at least slightly misinterpreted and the last one so vastly (to practically the direct opposite of what I was doing) so that I wonder what was being read. Is my prose truly that incomprehensible? If so, what can I do to be more clear? I'll obviously try some ooc clarifications as well from now on but... :\
I'd like to handle this now and get it smoothed out so we can keep going with the gaming rather than me getting all frustrated and pissy over it as it keeps happening later.
Dracos
I think my interpetation skills are shot. I should've noticed "slash" and failed to read that as "long sharp pointy thing". My fault, not yours. The first one I misinterpeted(not the sword thing, that was me missing a key word) though I admit after rereading I still wouldn't visualize it the way you did.
I'll retype my post later today when I'm not half asleep. :(
