As of tonight, I've finished the bulk of the work on an IRC bot designed to announce when posts are made on the board. This is mostly meant to be a tool for gamers who work on both the boards and on IRC, but I'm giving it a trial run/stress test here with Otik's and #soulriders. Currently he'll announce either posts or edits to posts, so feel free to try it out. Just don't spam too much. ^_~
I see it's working well already. Congratulations on finally getting the new 'bot going.
But...does that mean you'll finally take poor Hatbot out of the closet you stuffed him in?
EDIT - Just wondering if it gets the edits like you say it does. After all, I tend to edit my posts right after fairly often.
This bot is awesome. That's all that needs to be said.
Update: The bot seems to be working just fine so far, so it's now open for any of the GMs out there who are interested in having posts announced on IRC for their games. In addition, I've also tossed in a dice rolling script, in case it's needed for your game.
If you want post announcements for your game, either post here with a channel, send me a message on AIM, or give me a poke on IRC (when I'm not at work) and I'll get the bot into your channel and set up for announcements.
