Pecked to Death by Chickens
After a brief confrontation in the desert, a local girl is recovering from her trauma after being harassed by a local chicken gang. The leaders of the attack are believed to be the "Hen-house 14," as they are sometimes referred to by locals. Known for their favorite trick of cornering a victim up a tree before half-starving them to death, the group is known well for its particular kind of fowl-play.
According to the girl's report, they were joined on this attack by around three dozen other chickens. "I wouldn't be surprised," police officer Martin Dooley told us. "You know what they say, 'birds of a feather flock together.'"
The girl was saved by two boys passing by the area in search of some sort of "alien weapons factory." None of the boys were available for comment.
The cause of the fight is unknown. One of the chickens was found with a large cut on the side of his head, although the girl disavows any knowledge of this, claiming that she did nothing to provoke them. The girl was last seen leaving town this morning with two unknown boys of about her age.

Notes: The title of this is based on a Tim Cahill book, Pecked to Death by Ducks. It isn't important, but you should pick it up from the library sometime.
(Drac, I'm assuming this is based on EB events. Clarify if it is/isn't?)
I must say that I like this a fair deal. It's a nice little outside perspective to the events in the Earthbound game.
I'm not so big on the fowl-play line, though. Feels like a joke that's been tapped too many times, even if it is suited to this article.
