The price on cloth has gotten insane lately and it's pretty much entirely because some -very- few people are trying to price fix. I want to throw a spanner in their works, because I don't approve of linen going for 40 silver per stack. It's horrifically newbie unfriendly.
The basic plan I was thinking of was (and I'm guaging interest in this outside the guild at the moment) simply everyone take a little time out to pick up 20-40 linen . . . then we all just flood the market (without buyout prices, and at varying times) at a much lower price over the course of a day or so.
If nothing else it'll upset the market something -chronic-. It's not going to really cost us much of anything, but then it won't gain us anything either . . . but I do think this needs to stop.
Opinions are requested.
I agree with Rez. 40s a stack of linen is ridiculous and greedy.
I happen to have 10 stacks of 20 linen on Shaya.
I'll help out.
Ah, the joy of fighting kobolds and such for their linen. :)
Wait, how come no buyout prices? Or is that how the other guys are price-fixing, buy buying out lower auctions and reselling for 40s?
I am not usually anywhere near guys that drop linen, but I suppose I can make some time for the sake of economy.
To coordinate, since we've gots so many people doing this ... Shaya will put 10 stacks of 20 linen up for auction in IF when I get home today (expect this to be around, oh, 4:00 PM PST).
Exactly.
The price is down a bit today, but 25-30 is still ludicrous.
And these bastards are hiding behind level 4-5 alts. ;.;
Don't do it just yet; I was thinking friday or saturday . . .
. . . and I haven't recruited enough people on board yet. If you guys are game I have ten or so. I wants more, and I want everyone pretty much synched. :)
Yarr. Belaying fire-pattern, field-commander.
Reverting to stand-by mode.
Imma game. I have to mine copper anyway, I can get linen while I'm at it.
Sounds good to me. I could even do this with some of my lower-level alts if needs be.
